Better than expected. Setup was very easy and Audyssey has improved greatly in 10 years since my AVR-999. Secondary zones much better since it downconverts digital input to analog. I no longer have to connect sources in both digital and analog.

The Denon AV4700 is the best reciever I have ever purchased. It produces such high quality sound to my Polk S55 speakers + midrange + bookshelf speakers I feel like I am at a concert in my own house sitting in the front row.

WOW. I am truly impressed by this receiver. I purchased this receiver for my friend who was doing renovations to his house and wanted multiple zones hooked up to one receiver. This receiver allows you to have up to 3 direct zones (including the Main Zone) and I believe up to 30 or so virtual zones. Virtual zones are zones are connect to this receiver through your network. Outputting audio to all the zones is very seamless works as advertised except for in one area. The second and third zone require a separate amplifier which was off putting considering the amount of money invested in this but nevertheless a great 8K receiver.

I love this receiver. It's a huge upgrade from the Denon X4000 I've had for several years. Even without Dolby Atmos it just sounds a lot better than the last receiver. But when you play something with Dolby Atmos, it's incredible!

This replaced an excellent Denon 4K AVR and I have to say the audio actually is improved. Its probably the combination of a better receiver and the BB setup tweaks. Highly recommended receiver but a bit expensive.

The only reason I bought this AVR at the time was because the other brands I wanted were sold out so I gave this one a try . There was nothing wrong with it physically but the sound generated from it was not worth the almost $2000 price tag. I listen to a lot of cds and watch a lot of movies with my AVR and this Denon did not compare to the pioneer elite sc 95 I was replacing . So I returned it and luckily found on Onkyo’s website a Memorial Day sale and I got a TX-RZ1100 AVR for $1199. I couldn’t be happier with the performance this Onkyo and my Klipsch Reference Premier speakers are giving me now . In my opinion Denon is overrated .

Replacement for previous model. Quality sound for home theater. Does great on audio for Netlix and Prime shows that offer dolby digital and other formats. Expensive, but it is Denon.

I have decent JBL speakers (few years), but this receiver makes them sound like new ones! Plus it’s so convenient. You can air play and music will play in the speakers and insta gram will play in your phone.

The system was easy to set up - used banana plugs and the setup was easy to follow. The system connected right to my Sony TV and other equipment.

It is very customizable, was overwhelming for a beginner like me, but once you get familiar, this is a very good AVR. It does overheat and also the video is not that great.

Very impressed on the sound and video of this unit... not suprising though, just upgraded from early 2000's denon receiver that was still doing a great job...just wanted to upgrade to 4k

The first set of 8k receivers. I haven’t filled dialed it in yet but I’d imagine it’s going to be fantastic quality. There are so many features I’ll have to get used to having with this receiver

Definitely great upgrade from my old system. Just wish the universal remote feature was more user friendly. Sound is amazing from this system.

Great AVR … But struggled to power my 7.1.4 Klipsch RF-7ii setup. Moved up to Marantz SR8015 to get it working in awesome mode!!

Very powerful with very specific control points within. The user interface is dated but the controls are what I needed.

AVR-4700H has all the bells and whistles I’ll ever need and future proofs my system for years to come. The improved sound quality is amazing and everything just works.

THIS WAS MY SECOND DENON RECEIVER. VERY HAPPY WITH THE UNIT. WIRING OF THE SPEAKERS AND CALIBRATION OF MY SYSTEM WITH THE MICROPHONE WERE VERY EASY.
