I bought this AV amplifier to replace my x4400h mainly because I want to have a single machine that can handle 7.2.6 atmos setup, as well as to experience IMAX enhanced feature. And so far, this beast has yet to disappoint. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to go big in their home theater.

I didn't want to spend the premium price for something I might not need, but I am glad I did. This is really first class. It was easy to set up. The power and features bring all my equipment to life like never before. This is the last AVR I will ever need.

I have tried many receivers over the years but this Denon AVR -x8500h is the last receiver you’re ever going to need for a long time. The sound is amazing and my Martin Logan’s sound better than with my old Sony receiver. I would definitely recommend this AVR to a friend.

Finally!!!! This is the receiver that completed Audio perfection in my home! Previously, I had other Denon Receivers and high quality speakers. Sound was Powerful and Clear, but the 8500H is simply Stunning!!! Now I have Power, Clarity and supreme balance - there is no better word to describe my audio quality with the 8500H other than "PERFECT". I am completely immersed in the highest quality audio. Video is also outstanding going through this receiver. However you will need to get accustomed to HEOS which takes some time and why I give ease of use "Good". I discovered you cannot have a direct wire into the Denon and use HEOS, it must be on the same Wi-Fi as everything else. Now I can play my phone playlists, but it does simply play random, you have to click on each song at first, I guess to get it into the que - anyway I am still getting used to HEOS. But the Audio from this receiver is STUNNING!!!

Great picture and can provide enough power without any external power amplifiers, really amazed with the performance on this unit

Out of the box I ran the speaker calibration and it sounds GREAT lots more to learn but AWESOME so far.

OMG. This beast can crack windows! I have season tix for football, but the sound and crowd noise makes it better to stay home.

I had my eye on this beast since it came out. Always wanted to own this. The moment arrived when i built my home theater and i picked this with a sweet deal BBY folks could grab. I am loving this

Nothing else compares. If you have the money to spend; this is the best there is.

There are so many features I'm still trying to figure it all out. But it seems to be a very good product. The one thing that I don't like about it is you have to pick whether the sound comes out the speakers or passes threw to the television.

After trying units made by Marantz, Pioneer, Onkyo and Integra in the last few years, I made the leap to this unit. It is extremely capable, and provides excellent sound and video performance. Both Atmos and Auro 3D are included, along with several other decoders. I don’t know of any other home audio receiver that can compete with it - and none have the 13 channel outputs that this has.

Doesn't actually support bluetooth. If you connect a BT device and it issues a connection the receiver will automatically switch to the BT input. Watching a movie...poof BT. Watching tv...poof BT! They insist this hijacking is perfectly fine and refuse to issue a fix despite having the setting to disable this on their *low end* models.
