The first number is the primary, horizontally directed audio channels. The number after the first decimal, if applicable, is the number of subwoofer outputs or channels. The number after the second decimal, if applicable, is the number of height or atmospheric channels designed to immerse the listener by producing overhead sound effects.)
    • Video Pass-through: HDR, 2160 (4K), 3D (Devices with this feature allow video signals to travel from their source to a target device without alteration. For example, a receiver with 4K pass-through would allow 4K video signal from a Blu-ray player to pass to a target TV with surround sound; without the pass-through ability, the receiver would not allow both 4K video and surround sound to be transmitted simultaneously.)

Products that support hi-res audio deliver audio signals with a dynamic range and bandwidth far greater than that of a standard CD so you'll be able to enjoy pure music with outstanding sound quality. Q: Also wondering about 8k/10k. Also, Dolby ATMOS support? DTS:X2? HDR10? Does it support a single 13.2 zone, or does it NEED to be splintered? How many watts/channel (at 8 ohm)? What is the EXACT model no. (essential for determining the true year's model)

A:

Hey MikeG,

No, the unit does not have 8k/10k functionality. It does support Dolby Atmos and HDR10. It has 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It will support 13.2 in the main zone. The model number on this unit is the AVR-X8500H.

Thanks,
Denon North America

Q: Exactly how many Atmos channels can be run at one time and can that be expanded with external amplification?

A:

Hey Denon Customer,

You are able to run 6 Dolby Atmos speakers in a setup. Keep in mind Dolby Atmos minimum setup is 5.1.2 and this unit is capable of 7.2.6.

Thanks,
Denon North America

Q: When are you releasing an 8k Flagship model? Can I buy a 4k and be upgraded to 8k with a BIOS update later?

A:

Hey Bennie,

No official announcement has been made about when this feature will be available. However, this could change in the future, so check the Denon website for the latest announcements, news, and updates.

Thanks,
Denon North America
