Conclusion With an MSRP of $399, the DBP-1611UD is the least expensive Blu-ray player in Denon's repertoire, yet it offers most of the big-ticket features--including video-on-demand, YouTube, DLNA streaming, and 3D-readiness. If all you're looking for is a Blu-ray player, you can find other models that offer those features for less money. But, if you'd also like a player that can handle your higher-end audio discs, the DBP-1611UD is up to the task. Denon has priced this model to compete with Oppo's less-expensive universal players, which don't offer Netflix or 3D functionality. Basically, if you want a player that can do almost everything and doesn't cost a fortune, the DBP-1611UD deserves a serious look. But it you can aford it get The Denon DBT-1713UD has just about everything you'd want in a Universal Player. It can play just about every 5" disc format on the market (and some that have all but died out). The USB port allows direct streaming of most of the popular video, image, and music formats. DNLA 1.5 certification allows access to networked content and just about all the popular video streaming sources are not only available, but have their own button on the remote. While $500 isn't cheap for a Blu-ray player, it isn't bad considering all the features you are getting. We expect this player to do pretty well... especially with Denon fans. Very well built, high quality playback with many options and virtually every format. Excellent 3-D and excellent sound, even if your just listening to a CD. And finally, a remote that you can see.

Picture and sound quality are awesome. Works great with NetFlix, etc. Doesn't work with the Denon iPhone App though, which is a big disappointment.

I love my Denon bluray player!!!! It works wonderfully, and it has had no mechanical issues unlike my last bluray player, which was a Sony bluray player. It processes the information from the disc to the tv in great efficiency and the picture quality and options are great!!!! Love it! I won't ever buy anything else!

This is my 2-nd DVD player from Denon. The first one I bought 10 years ago and it still works very well. I needed Blu-Ray so I bought the one I am reviewing here. It works very well and it is stylish. Compared to my previous Denon it has bigger display so it easy to read display from far away. Initially I was concerned that it does not have any optical or coaxial output for sound, but you do not really need one. You connect HDMI to your TV and then optical from TV to your Audio system. Hopefully your TV does good job converting HDMI to optical with no quality loss for sound. I still would prefer if this DVD player had one optical or coaxial output for sound.

I hesitated making this purchase. My blu ray player did an amazing job. After passing on the purchase for two months, i gave into curiosity. It does provide an amazing experience. I am happy with this player.

Purchased the Denon to use as a CD player in my 2 Channel system. I was very pleased with the detail and subtleties during playback.

I have always been a huge fan of Denon electronics, having owned many receivers over the years. I wanted to compliment my newest receiver with an equally high quality Blu-ray player ever since my 10 year old Sony started having issues reading discs. This Denon is built well and loads fast. The picture quality and sound are impressive through my surround system and displayed on my Samsung 60" LCD. Highly recommended player with streaming services like Neflix & Vudu included.

This Blu-ray player left me wanting more. The on-screen menu was a little complicated and the the remote felt poor. Picture quality however was on point.

While the streaming setting and interface are slightly out of date, the quality of the playback is superb.

Needed a great player to play 3D blu-Ray disks...and it is. Great 5.1 surround sound. I am very pleased.

Overall very satisfied with design, layout and ergonomics. When compared with other manufactures in this price range, this one stood out since it was on sale with a major discount.

I bought this Denon Blu-ray player to replace my Pioneer Elite BDP-23 that finally died on me. ( I needed a 3D player to go with my VT30 anyways). I really like the player. The video quality is on par with the Pioneer Elites and for all since and purposes the same UI as the Marantz, but 100 bucks cheaper. I also like that it plays SACD's over HDMI!!!! I have had this player for a year now and I own 300 blu-rays and have played way more than that through it. If I had to buy again I would in a heart beat. The only other Blu-ray player that I would consider would be one of the Oppo's.

I bought this player to go with my new Denon A/V receiver in my theater. I never thought id pay this much for just a bluray player, but it was worth every penny. Amazing, lifelike visuals, and reference quality sound make this player really standout from the crowd. I've had half a dozen or so Samsung/Sony players in the past, and this one kicks all their butts. What really blew me away is the up conversion on DVDs. It takes 480p sources and makes them look HD. In summary, it looks and feels extremely substantial, performs like a champ, is whisper quiet (fan less design which is great for a shielded drive mechanism), and works great in conjunction with the Denon x series receivers. 10/10! The only thing that somewhat bothers me is that it doesn't support Netflix 3D movies, but hopefully a firmware update will fix that soon. No biggie, as I have all my favs on 3D bluray anyhow.
