This has been my most disappointing experience with best buy, after ordering ten's of thousands of dollars from them for many of years now. This is my last order from them! I ordered online and cannot return to store, and now have to wait weeks to ship my product back to the manufacturer???

This is my first high end receiver and I love it. It is very easy to use and the sound quality is awesome. I had always heard about Denon's quality and everything to date supports that. I've never had a receiver where I could hook it up to my TV, go to the "Receiver" input, and then have a User Interface where I can make tons of adjustments (if needed) to suit my taste. There are a lot of different settings, so take time to go through everything and to read the owners manual.
It is very easy to hook up all of your "goodies" to it such as a Blu-ray player, a PS3, and iPod, etc. The sound quality is awesome and I love that I can adjust the sound using my cable remote.
I am powering 4 high end tower speakers and a center channel and this receiver powers them just fine. If I turn the volume way up it sounds louder and better than some clubs I have been too. I hope to get many years out of this receiver and have no complaints. My TV has built in Wi-Fi, so I didn't need a receiver with that, although, you can hook an Ethernet cable to it if you need to.
It's a great receiver and the cost doesn't break the bank. I would recommend it to a friend and have been very happy with my purchase.

Went into Best Buy Magnolia looking for advice to find a receiver that would fit with a custom home theatre I'm piecing together and the sales associate was fantastic. He was knowledgable and nice and directed me to the right fit for my system. Even spent 15 min reading reviews and price-checking online while experiencing their built-in home theatre (which is ridicously cool) and the guy totally encouraged it. Reviews were great, price was lowest, it was time to buy.
I previously bought Klipsch Quintet 5 speaker system with a Polk Audio 12" sub. I didn't want a receiver to underdeliver power to my 5.1 setup because all the other components are very nice but I didn't need all the crazy gadgets that receivers are capable of. This one was perfect.
Some features I really enjoy: You can easily watch TV and listen to music (as a guy this feature is important cuz we often listen to music and watch sports games), seperating the video and audio is really simple. The remote and setup is very intuitive. The sound quality is awesome. Just watched The Hobbit last night and system was incredible.
Lastly, when you plug in your iPhone you can chose to search songs either via your phone OR the on-screen receiver. This is really convenient because sometimes it's easier and quicker to select songs via the UI on your phone as opposed to through the receiver, so I was very happy to know I had both options available.
Overall very happy with the product and the shopping experience. Thumbs up.

Denon has a real winner with the AVR -X1000. New GUI is nice; web app is great, and nearly gets no mention in the user manual. Don't be deterred by lack of You Tube user videos. Check out AVR-X2000 on You Tube, as the feature set is virtually identical expect for the number of amplified channels.
P.S. Stay away from Pioneer Elite VSX-43 receiver. Slow HDMI source switching, GUI is ugly, remote is hard to figure out. Replaced this with the Denon AVR X1000.

I am very happy with this receiver the sound blows my old Kenwood receiver away. It makes my old speakers sound so much better. connecting my Direct tv receiver and Blue Ray DVD was so easy with the HDMI. The remote is easy to operate and is well laidout

I was only dissapointed that it would not connect with my all share cast from samsung. This device provides mirror imaging. I tried updates, patches and calling Samsung/Denon support, but neither had any idea why it wouldnt connect.

This receiver is awesome. Tons of power at 175 per channel and the clarity is exceptional. Only wish it had a keypad remote.
