The most important thing with headphones is obviously the sound and these sound great. Denon's 50mm Free Edge Nano Fiber Driver really crank out the highs and lows. You seriously are not going to find a better pair of cans at this price. I have purchased several Sennheiser headphones over the years and I can definitely say that I prefer the way that Denon sounds. My only draw back is that I don't like the way they fit. To me at least the Sennheiser are more comfortable as they fit a little more snug around the ears (which I like). Obviously every bodies head is differently shaped so this might not even be an issue for you. Still even with a very minor complaint I love these and am very happy with my purchase.

These headphones are absolutely top notch in build quality and sound fidelity. They are very large, so I do not find them particularly useful for travel or moving around, however, they are perfect for sitting at your desk or laying back in your arm chair if your goal is to get the best sound possible at a reasonable price (as in, under $1000). The headphones particularly shine in the comfort department. They cover my ears completely and without pinching, even after hours of use. The materials and build are high quality and you can feel that in the way the grip your head/ears. The included connections are of very high quality and come with several options including in line volume controls and an extra long cord for connection to a stereo moderately away from your seat. Overall a fantastic audiophile-focused product.

It's amazing, powerful, and compete with professional headphone over $1000, But I wished Denon was more careful about its size. It's big and bulky and It doesn't have enough grip on small heads! It's my best purchase in 2012 (spent 6k on electronics)

    Best Headphones I've Ever Owned

These are a truly excellent set of headphones. For purposes of this review, I've included links to items I've referenced here for ease of use. I've used Best Buy links when possible. I own a plethora of headphones (Beats Studio Pro (http://tinyurl.com/pheoobn) and V-Moda (hhttp://tinyurl.com/nnku3pe)) as well as high end gaming headsets (Razer Tiamat 7.1(http://tinyurl.com/k624r87) and Razer Blackshark (http://tinyurl.com/nm55mxt) and this beast beats all of them. My goal, when buying this these headphones was the 'one ring to rule them all' school of thought, where I get one set of cans that could really do both. I was not disappointed. Out the box, these things are great. Excellent build quality and extremely easy to use. Comes with a carrying case (that doesn't happen as much as you think) as well as two set of lines, one with a mic (for smartphones) and one that is thicker for music (etc). For my music set up I've got a Onkyo Receiver (http://tinyurl.com/qe6dqz3) that use for music and movies (predominately). Hooking this bad boy up was a snap (with included studio-plug adapter, also not always included in a high end set) and everything sounded great. I listen to mostly Rap/RB/Rock and my movies tend to be a mixture of dialogue heavy documentaries and explosion ridden superhero movies. These's Denon succeeded where the Beats and V-Modas failed, namely in having enough low end to really feel great (sorry, V-Moda) but not so much that it drowned out nearly everything else (looking at you Beats!). I also use this same headset for Computer Gaming and Skype. My gaming set-up entails using an optical plug into a FiiO E-17 Amp (http://tinyurl.com/mhpgr3s), an absolutely awesome portable amplifier that's superior to the Mix Amp from Astro. The Denon's handle audio blitzkrieg of computer like a champ, whether I'm playing something as crazy as Titanfall or as subtle as Dragon Age. For Skype, these cans are magical and I get crystal clear reception for calls. I use a separate mic, from Zalman (http://tinyurl.com/leoeleu) for computer applications and I find it superior to the mic usually attached to higher end headsets. I'm not sure if they are actively noise cancelling, but I can't hear a thing when they are running (I have a 3 and 5 yr old, so that can be a good thing at times). Absolutely Awesome set of Headphones that I cannot recommend highly enough! However . . . Two quick notes to consider. 1. The speaker line/plugs included would NOT work with my Windows Phone input at all (for some reason). This was not my primary phone, so this incompatibility was not a deal breaker but it is something to consider. Worked great with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and my iPad, so there's that. 2. The cans themselves are not that large, think Beats, though they more closely resemble the Samsung Level's look, but there is a LOT of give in the headband. I have a GIGANTIC head and HATE vice like grips of certain headphones (That's you, Beats!) so this is awesome for me. If you have a TINY head or prefer you brains to be squeezed out of your ears, these may not be the ones for you.

I got item on sale but for my use it was a little too pricey for what I got. To use with my sound systems the cord I needed was just too much of a hassle. That may not be a problem for you. I'm a real value nut so maybe you wouldn't think it was too much money.

Doesn't deserve Denon name, but sounds good

In my opinion, Denon made a huge mistake going away from the Fostex innards it used in the D2000/5000/7000 and focusing more on outward appearance than sound quality. The simple truth is that you can do a LOT better for $300. That said, these are marvelously comfortable cans, if a bit heavy, and they do sound decent enough, but not for the list price, which of course is not Best Buy's fault, but Denon's. If you're interested in comfort and heavy bass, and don't care about the rest of the sound profile (or your wallet) these fit the bill. If you're looking for overall sound quality and better value, look elsewhere.

These are the very best headphones I have experienced. It probably helps that I use them with a Denon AVR-3311C1 AV Surround Receiver. A truly awesome audio experience. I bought the bullet and spent the money for these high-end phones as the music I listen to (pounding bass) would drive my neighbors batty. Now we are all happy. Thanks to the able staff at Best Buy I got a deal I could not pass up.

    Excellent Budget Headphones

The headphones are a little big so don't go out unless you want to look like you have Princess Leia's hair do. The soundstage is much wider than my AKG K545. The bass is much more controlled than the "Beats" which causes less fatigue to me. There are two cable lengths #3.9' and 10'#. Currently using the 10' so that I can sit on my chair and relax verses being hunch over near my receiver. I haven't tried a headphone amp but I would think the clarity and bass would be much better with a little more power. Overall, excellent headphones for the price.

Denon Delivers A Perfect Sound Experience Again!

Just a heads up to anyone reading my review, I listen to all types of music so this is where my review is coming from. My first pair of Denon headphones were the AH-C50 earbuds. I purchased these about 6 years ago and one of the ear buds gave out on me about 2 years ago (active lifestyle so they went through a lot of wear and tear). I loved those headphones so much that I was disappointed when they did break. Since then I have tried other ear buds and headphones and none of them seem to deliver quite the experience that I was looking for. About 5 months ago, I purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 558 Over-The-Ear headphones. Sennheiser is known for how crisp and rich they reproduce audio for its consumers and the headphones truly showed it. I loved those headphones but the one thing they were missing was that amazing feeling of bass that the Denon's produced. I was going to purchase a headphone amplifier for these guys but after further looking into it, I would not have gotten my desired result. Then I came across the AH-D600's at my local Best Buy in North Attleboro. The experience that these guys delivered when I put them on.....GODLY!! It was the same musical experience all over again! I had done research prior too so I got them and immediately spent the rest of the day listening to music with them. Now, the type of music genres I listen to consist of Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Country, Reggae, Reggaeton, Soca, Dance Hall, Chutney, House, Hard House, Trance, Hard Trance, Dance, Hard Dance, Hardstyle, Jumpstyle, Happy Hardcore, Schranz, Electro, Electro House and so much more. No matter which song I played, from which genre, it was like I was listening to music all over again for the first time. The bass was AMAZING, but not overbearing as it matched the treble perfectly. After the 19 hour break-in period (which is typical break-in time for all headphones before they adjust themselves to peak performance) it only got better! These headphones have protein leather that is so soft, you don't even notice that you have the headphones on, it puts you into another space entirely. Included in the box is a 3' cord with a microphone that also features controls for iPod/iPad/iPhone as well as a 10' cord if you have this guy plugged into your receiver for a HiFi experience. Also, it comes with a 1/4" adapter AND its own carrying case with carabiner for safe traveling. By far, better than any of the headphones in the Beats lineup, HANDS DOWN!!! Most people will probably pass over this because of the price. When buying headphones you don't buy it on price, you buy it on the experience it gives you so forget about its price. For a true musical experience like no other, these are the headphones to get!
