Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the fantastic sound quality, easy setup, Bluetooth connectivity, and powerful bass of the Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. They appreciate that they can get brand-name sound at a reasonable price. While some customers would prefer a display showing the current sound mode and a higher volume, the overall sentiment is positive.

    Not so great sound

While a solid product overall, I was disappointed by its sound quality at low and high volume levels. At mid volume sound was great, but at low volume sound was flat and bass was not fitting to the rest of the sound at all. At high volume level, you can clearly hear sound distortion. I returned it and got Bose Solo II instead (and am very happy with Bose Solo sound even though it does not have dedicated subwoofer).

    Powerful Amazing Sound

This is my first review of an audio/video product. I consider myself an audiophile, and have only owned high end systems for the last 20 years. So I was not expecting much from a $600 sound bar... I was very concerned with the subwoofer being its two 5 1/4" woofers, as well as volume. All I can really say is unbelievable sound for the money. It smashes my Klipsch Icon with a 10" sub. Highs are crisp and clean, mids are powerfully solid and the bass is tight and deep. The only negative is dialog can get drowned out in movie mode because of the mids from the soundbar. This is resolved by switching to dialog mode. Movie mode is room filling surround that will empress even a larger room. Music quality is superb. TV in dialogue mode is excellent. This is a "hidden" gem in Best Buy. Most people with a wallet that can justify going to the Magnolia department pass it buy because of the lower price. You don't always get what you pay for! But if you know good quality sound and can't settle for less get this bar!

So i was on a hunt for a soundbar, testing out different brands @ my local bestbuy store. As i browsed and compared products i found this beast inside the magnolia showroom! Amazed and surprised with how loud and clear it sounded and was on sale too. It was SOLD for me!

    This is an updated review

I'm taking this pain in the rear back to best buy tomorrow. Regardless of the sound nothing is worth this much grief. Been mounted to the wall, holes cut, cables pulled. Just about the time I'd decided to keep it, and put up with losing the connection with the TV every time it is turned off, I get an app update on my phone. ( If you leave the house with your phone, chances are 50/50 nobody will be watching tv while your gone.)Anyway, after the update, my system no longer exist. Now I am required to take it down off the wall, connect the special cable and start over with a new setup. Wrong, wrong, wrong, while it is off the wall, and disconnected it's going back to best buy.

    Excellent sound, better than sonos

Liked the concept of the Sonos but the sound coming from the sound bar isn't near as good as the Denon. Plus the Sonos sound bar is $100 more for just the sound bar. Denon is known for delivering quality products and this new sound bar is not exception. Subwoofer has great power. The sound is perfectly balanced.

    Worked well... for 2 months

I was deciding between this and the Bose. I picked this because of the good name Denon has. I purchased it on December 20th, 2015 and it has worked well. Audio quality is good, but the subwoofer is very boomy. The subwoofer cannot be controlled with the remote. On 2-13-2016, the soundbar began to make a static popping noise every few seconds. I thought it might be the input, but I switched sources and still has the problem. I even tried using the analog audio inputs, and the problem still happens. Now I am stuck paying to ship an expensive soundbar back to a manufacturer approved repair center. Denon support is one of the worst I've dealt with. Pass on this... there are plenty of other options.

    Weak subwoofer

Sounded very good at BB, so I decided to give it a try. Easy hookup, no problem there. The sound bar itself has pretty good sound, but not overwhelming volume. I noticed I was getting little to no volume from the subwoofer, even at 100% volume. I tried several different sources with the same result. I called Denon and we decided the subwoofer was defective. They advised me to return it to BB. I offered to keep the soundbar and have them send me a different subwoofer, and I would return the original. They said no, just return the whole package. I am packing it up now for return. I don't believe I will buy another.

    Not worth the $$

I bought this from Best Buy on sale. I thought a $400 soundbar would sound better than the $200 soundbars I have but it doesn't. Don't waste your money. It's fine but the $200 ones sound the same to me.

    Terrible customer service

Received the sound bar, had trouble getting it to work with the TV. Called customer service, who were supposed to be open on Saturday, and got a message they were closed. Tried later that day - still no luck. Tried customer service again during the week and was told the wait would be 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, still no answer and I had to hang up. Tried again a few nights later and after suffering through nearly an hour wait, finally spoke with someone. They said the unit was working (it worked with blue tooth), and then said the good couldn't help me with the TV set up because "all TVs are different." No attempt to help me make sure I had the right cables in the right places, no attempt to help me reset the unit (I found this online later), no attempt to suggest some common TV settings that might be relevant. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told he was on another call and would have to call me back. I was told he would call me within 24 hours - it's been two days and I still haven't heard anything. There are a lot of good sound bars out there. While this one is fine, or maybe even better than some, the lack of customer service frustrates me and has me ready to send the sound bar back and buy a different brand.

Digital Optical Audio Cable Door is Bad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The "door" connecting the Digital Optical Audio (Interconnect) Cable to the TV (only option for connection the sound bar to standard Samsung Smart HDTV's) can snap right off if not careful. Once that door is off, there's no way to reconnect the cable to the TV. The sound bar is only good for other devices at that point...

Seriously , this thing sounds so bad it`s not even funny. I haven`t compared to other soundbars but if this one is good I`ll quit looking and stuck with TV speakers instead. yes it`s that bad.
