Solid Game

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Strengths:
-Amazing graphics and presentation, with some wonderful shots
-Interesting branching choices, with different outcomes
-Excellent motion capture work and solid actor performances
Cons:
-Story is a bit recycled from sci-fi genre as a whole
-Game camera can be really irritating as it uses the same button as certain object interactions
-Short-ish game (around 7-8 hours). Replayability, however, softens this minor complaint due to the different choices you can make throughout the game that change its course
-Gameplay can be somewhat uninteresting (just know you are buying something that works more like cinema than game)
Overall, I had a good deal of fun with it, but you have to be into this kind of game. Think TellTale games. If you like those, you'll probably like this.

Quantic Dreams delivers another winner.
With stunning graphics, veteran voice actors, and AAA writing, Detroit Becoming Human hits all the right notes from start to finish.
UX design also works well, allowing players to immerse themselves in the world, interacting with the environment without getting lost or confused.
I am a fan of Quantic Dream's productions and have been for years. I purchased a PS4 just to play this title, and it was worth it.
A solid title for a solid console.

Best Video Game I've ever played

If you are a casual gamer like me, that totally nerds out on technology, and a post-apocalyptic future then this game is for you.
At times, this is more like an interactive movie where you get the control most of the plot and themes, and I love that because I'm actually TERRIBLE at skill based video games. haha
Good graphics, great storyline, and enough action and plot twists and turns to keep you engaged..... No two playthroughs are exactly the same and this game changed the way that I view video games entirely.

Best of David Cage as of yet

Detroit BH has a few additional elements that pushes David Cage's story telling style, and by far stands as one of his better games.
If you've played David Cage games before, you know sometimes the story can fall apart and completely lose its flow because of what the player is allowed to do.
As with most of Cages games, it's a choose-your-own-adventure style where the story can change depending on what path you choose to take. A great quality-of-life improvement is that they've added the storyline paths for the player to see. Oppose to having to blindly poke and prod to see what might be a new story in each new playthrough.
However, it is heavy handed, making a lot of similes to social strife oppose to actually exploring more of AI and technology.

The graphics are amazing and the story is a bit slow to start, but you get sucked right in after the first hour and things start to get very intense. An exciting and thought-provoking adventure that makes us consider what a future with human-like androids would be like, and how the societal issues it portrays are eerily similar to the ones we experience in our own.
I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys sci-fi, futuristic, story-driven games featuring choices that determine the outcome of the story. It's basically an interactive movie.

This is an absolutely fantastic game for those who love to play almost as if they are watching a movie. Graphics is unbelievable, the story is great and quite deep, all interactions are thought through to the slightest detail. You're here the one to tailor the story, there are lots of possible scenarios that you can encounter.
I personally finished this game in one day, so I'd say it's not for those who have too much time and planning on spending days and weeks on.
Hoping this short review will be helpful though!

I was really excited going into this being a big fan of Heavy Rain. The way the chapters are set up the game really feels like playing through a netflix series, and it's just as easy to binge. A rare game where decisions you make can have a major impact on different facets of the story, instead of the ever present illusion of choice. Although the game is a little short, you are able to see different possibilities that decisions could lead too after beating a scene for the first time, so there is a little replay incentive.

Such a solid game and I had so much fun playing it. Definitely recommend it for PS4 owners who want a narrative rich experience.
There are plotholes and the Civil Rights themes and references used as hamfisted and clumsily implemented but the narrative is strong enough to keep you going until the end.
Biggest flaw is that in a game that uses Civil Rights themes, it's completely subverted by having Afro-American character movie tropes such as the "magical-negroo", "mammy" and the "strong bald black leader"

I poured so many hours into this game and I believe I played every conceivable possibility. Well maybe not every one but certainly a significant amount. This is a story full of humanity and a vision of the future that I believe needs to be more seriously considered by our society when we consider our future with AI. I consider this one of the best games alive ever played and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a game full of replay ability and great story telling.

I have just completed my first run through of this game and absolutely loved it. My favorite thing with this game was playing the entire story with my significant other. I controlled the game while she made all of the decisions and it made for such a fun collaborative experience. The visuals and presentation are unmatched currently in gaming and the story along with it's numerous deviations depending on the choices made make this game perfect for additional run throughs. Highly recommend.

Single Playing story telling

For those who think single player games are dead, allow me to show you why you are wrong. While not as strong as God of War, in my opinion, this actually tells a really interesting story. The replayability comes in finding and taking the multiple branching paths for the story to see how options play out differently. The tell of the android uprising is kind of an interesting story to tell in today's climate and landscape. You play as 3 separate characters as they struggle to come to understand their place in the new world and what they are willing to do, just to survive. So If you don't want another shooter or forced multiplayer experience try this one out.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through my first playthrough of this game, and I'm already excited about my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The amount of choices that actually make a difference to the main story is mind-boggling, and due to the excellent storytellers at Quantic Dream, each choice is extremely difficult to make. I'm playing this on a regular PS4 and it looks STUNNING. The mocap is top of the line and you can really see the emotion in all the characters' faces. MUST BUY!

Continued excellence from Quantic Dream

Quantic Dream is one of the absolute jewels in Sony's crown of exclusive developers. And, while what they create may be difficult to define strictly as "games," what they do create is something that includes the most basic of game mechanics, along with filmmaking, storytelling, and world building to create art. Introspective, thought-provoking journeys that no other studio has proven to be capable of producing at the same consistency as QD.
On the technical side, QD features some amazing graphics, with top-tier 3D CGI on par with any movie production to bring Hollywood actors into their games.
Where Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe anchored their prior game, they've brought in two of the greatest character actors since the 80s in Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Near Dark,) and Clancy Brown (The Kurgan from the original Highlander!) To bring Detroit to life.
Which is, I suppose, appropriate, because the theme of Detroit falls squarely into the realm of Blade Runner in asking the questions about artificial intelligence/ androids being actual life.
This question will be asked in various ways as you play through three different stories, told concurrently, as the androids: a cop assigned to a human partner, an assistant to an artist paralyzed from the waist down, and a homemaker/ nanny to a young girl and her broken and abusive father.
You will be tasked with chores and jobs both mundane and extraordinary while experiencing a story and being asked questions that remain firmly in the latter category.
Detroit Become Human is far less a game and much more an experience, one you'll be glad to have taken once the credits begin.

This game is amazing in many aspects. The look is real, especially if you are a Detroit local as I am. The story is great and the possibilities are endless. Control scheme works well. I only give this 4/5 because as great of a game as it is it feels very railroaded. It is very sequential, you move slow and dumb kind of like the original resident evil on ps1. I know this is part how this studio designs their games, so before picking this up you may want to make sure you are a fan of quantic dreams other games or something like the telltale series offers. The wolf among us is a good comparison as far as playability. Worth picking up for sure.

What a masterpiece. I'm typically more of a non-stop action, role playing, shooter kind of guy. I enjoyed Heavy Rain and Until Dawn so figured I'd like this one too. Boy, has it exceeded my expectations. Everything about this game is phenomenal. The story, acting, characters, graphics...everything. Definitely worthy of multiple playthroughs. A must anyways if you want to discover all the game has to offer. A truly amazing piece of work

I'm only few hours into this game, already impressed by the graphic, game style and its captivating story! This is basically watching a really good movie but you are the one making all the decisions. I love this style of game, because I am not a competitive video game player, I prefer a game with a real good story than those shoot them up, so I can relax truly enjoy the game. Just for its story this game is worth playing.

I’ve had my eye on this game and i’m so glad I purchase it. The graphics are amazing and the storyline is incredible. I love the butterfly effect of it all; how your choices in the game effect the overall outcome. It’ll leave you wondering, “wait, did I do the right thing”. Exceeded my expectations. It’s a game that I haven’t stopped playing since I bought it. And when you finish it, you can replay it with different choices.

Yet another playable movie from Quantic Dream, this one being one of the prettiest console games to date. The writing can be a little weak and cheesy at times, with a few compelling moments being hampered down by absent logic. Despite that, the consequences for player decisons combined with the game world itself both, in my opinion, offer more of a reason for multiple playthroughs then Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls.
