good for checking email
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro's: Inexpensive access to internet, email & google play store. Con's: A little slow. Runs Hot. Battery doesn't last. Display looks milky - not crisp. Other reviews have said this is good for kids but I would disagree because of battery life. This just won't do well for extended use playing games, etc. This is only good for intermittent use when you'd like to check emails on something bigger than your phone.

You get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my daughter for Christmas, it was a nice size, it has a camera, it has access to enough apps and the price is good. But don't waste your money. The first week we used it it locked up a couple of times (a google search shows this is common) so I had to restart it. It also got to the point where it wouldn't charge or function at all (again common) I once again had to reset it. The battery life is atrocious. Don't let it get below 40% battery unless you want to experience the issues I mentioned earlier. There is no flash for the camera and with the low resolution of the camera, it's pretty pointless to have. Pros: Size Price Cons: Battery Life Stability Camera

Good function capability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tablet is great if you buy it for the price. Graphics are great except for the battery life which you have to constantly recharge. However, using it for too long will cause the backside of the tablet to overheat. Eventually you will have to cool it down if that happens. Overall, it's a good product to buy. Worth the price. Though be sure to buy a protective screen since I've seen the amount of scratches on it. If you want the screen to be new and no scratches; a protective screen is a MUST NEED!

Good for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an Android TV. I have Apple devices. The Chrome browser for iOS does not have a "Cast" button. Depending on who you listen to, it's either because Apple wants to promote Air Play or Google wants you to buy more Android devices. If the latter is true, that worked in my case. I bought this tablet for three limited purposes: 1) Using Chrome to cast videos from web sites; 2) using the Cast function to play videos from Apps that aren't compatible with the TV; and 3) serving as a spare remote for the TV with the Sony SideView App. I am pleased that to say that #1 works great. #3 is adequate but isn't really that important to me. #2 not so good. While mirroring works great for web sites, photos and the like, the video is very choppy and not really watchable. In all fairness, I don't know if this would be better with any other Android device. I have excellent wi-fi; it could be a limitation of mirroring videos, or it could be due to inadequate processing power with this tablet. I'm not going to buy a better one to find out. If a friend comes over who has an Android phone I'll see if I can get it to work better. My goal was to see what I could do with the cheapest Android tablet I could find. For $50 I made out reasonably well, for the features I was seeking. On other points, the battery life isn't so good, especially when playing videos, and the camera isn't so good. It does get warm when playing videos, as others have observed. But for $50 what do you expect? They have to make some compromises somewhere. So I can't in good conscience rate it more than 3 stars, but I would give it 4 stars for the price.

Too slow, doesn't run some apps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these to replace the Digiland DL718Ms that the grandsons had broken or lost. In fact, I wanted the same tablet, but they had been discontinued. The DL721RB had twice the memory and 6.0 Android, so I thought it would be a good replacement. Boy was I wrong. It is super slow, almost non responsive at times. And the same apps my grandson ran on his DL718 will not run on the DL721. Try explaining that to a 5 y/o and an 8 y/o. Also, some of the apps freeze mid-play, which is unacceptable. And the microSD option is virtually worthless, as most apps will not install or save to the card. This has been a big waste of time and money. I should have gotten them Kindle Fires instead.

it could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It could be better. I bought the last generation model, it was good, no freezes, temperature excess (over heat), involuntary reboots, delay, app crash and gyroscope miss-calibrations. This one digiland dl721-rb has everyone that i mentioned here. But wait, there's more, i paid more money for this one (dl721-rb) than the last gen tablet plus the performance was worse than previous gen tablet.. It takes a longer time each time i charge it. And then each time it holds less of a charge. This review was posted after a month of use by two people 5 hours each day. We use it for e-mail, browse the web , watch youtube, play games, google classroom and occasionally take pics. This was a disappointment, no wonder Intel quit the android tablet business. This is the worst android tablet I ever bought.

It was so good I bought 10 of them
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paid $35 a piece on the July 4th sale this is a perfect gift idea for birthdays, grads, house warming or even Christmas. Many people gave negative reviews which had expected this to be the same as Apple/Samsung tablets... You can't really compare something that's 10x the cost. In another word if you are using this product for gaming, video conferencing/chatting, running anything intense, pixel peeping on pictures, playing 4k movies, HiFi audio experience, or even multitasking, you will be very disappointed. This device is ideal for - bedside alarm clock. I can use this to do some youtube watching, eMail / eBook reading, light web browsing, order stuff from Amazon, bidding on eBay, check on news/weather/traffic & so forth. My kids have one in their bedrooms we use it for baby monitor, room-to-room intercom. I can also stick one of these on the wall to control pool equipment, garage door, network routers, door chime, alarm, webcams, and lightings, I haven't tried but I will use this device to control my TV via chromcast. This device is also good for a nice $40 digital picture frame. You can pop in a SD card, load your favorite songs/pictures/videos and let it sit in your living room. If the 7" is too small for a pic frame, you can get the 8" or the 10" version for <= than $100. I also take this and mount in my car. It runs google maps with traffic information, bluetooth into my car's audio system - obviously I need to switch on my portable hotspot in order for the google maps to work. I also have Skype# so I can make & receive calls using this device while driving. I also throw a couple of these in the backseat, I downloaded bunch of offline videos & light/casual gaming for kids to keep them entertained on long rides. PROs - Great price & value, snappy and responsive, 16GB storage + SD Card slot, ~5 hrs battery, 1GB RAM CONs - cannot run anything intense such as gaming, multi-tasking, low res camera maybe? Yes, for $34 a piece I bought 10 of them.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've shopped BB since the early 90s for a reason. Never had a complaint until this. I rarely review products good or bad but I'm calling this out. This tablet is so far below the standard expected from BB that their customers should know. Any 7" tablet is selling for under $25 should be a red flag but at the time I paid regular price. I've now had 2 of these, each time less than 2 months. I wrote the first one off to my fault but both times Digiland's screen shuts off regardless of power and you have to keep trying different patterns with the on/off button to get it back up. If it falls no more than 3-4ft, you're virtually guaranteed hairline cracks and your touch screen will never work again. Of course then you can't take it back because they've got you with the damage issue. If you do buy this product, keep it in an eggshell crate on a padded cushion and be sure to set aside time to waste with the on/off button.

Great Tablet With Little Problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I think this is a really nice tablet for the price. obviously there some small cons such as the poor display quality and short battery life but it certainly makes up for it with its low cost and powerful processor capability. If you're looking for more information on the product I recommend this review I found on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IseUAaxrCII. it gives some more information than what I provided.

Such a waste of resources
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the tablet mainly for navigation (built-in GPS receiver) and it seems to be working fine (must download off-line map data in Maps). Google maps wouldn't download off-line area data for offline navigation use until app was updated (must do it manually from the system). The battery life is abysmal—did not gain a charge while being charged and used for GPS nav over 500 miles (no WiFi enabled). I think the battery size is 2100mAh, not 2700. The screen lighting flickers slightly at low brightness setting. Plastic screen scratches easier than a CD. Completely ridiculous. Tablet performance is visually choppy (slow). Netflix app isn't compatible with this tablet? Really, with OS 6.0? Maximum fail. Why is YouTube app compatible? Screen looks foggy, unflat and is not bright enough. Scratches easier than anything too. It does have Bluetooth. Best Buy spec isn't correct. Best Buy is notorious for fudging specs—lots of incompetency gained in the last decade. Part of the reason why people shop elsewhere. No, this is not a good beginner tablet. You'll be constantly annoyed, children will be always pi**ed off... this is good for checking email, checking weather, maybe controlling your home's WiFi Thermostat and other random, simple stuff. Serious waste of effort by manufacturer. An insult to people's intelligence. Just to make a few bucks. With $5-$10 upgrades (cost), this could be so much better, believe it or not. Save a frustration and don't buy it. Spend twice the money and buy something a little more decent which may last longer as well. (If you tried giving one of these to me for free, I'd give it to a homeless person). I'm probably returning this. People who gave this 5 stars don't know what they're talking about—impulse review. Prepare to throw it away before the year's end.

Great Stocking Stuffer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Digiland 7" tablet is the perfect stocking stuffer for the children! At $40 with full Android access to Google Play, there really is not a better deal out there! I even had to buy myself one! Here is a video review that helped me with my purchase: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IseUAaxrCII The quad core processor keeps up with all my day-to-day tasks. The screen looks a little washed out, so I won't be doing too much Kindle reading. But for Youtube and Netflix, the screen is good enough. I will probably spend a little more for myself in the future, but for the kids this tablet is perfect! It my opinion, this tablet beats the Amazon Fire just because it has full access to Google Play. Otherwise, it was a close call for me.

Cheap & Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this tablet from a Deal of the Day offer for $30, so my expectations were obviously super low. The tablet did not disappoint. It's super slow and the quality is garbage, but it's an Android device for 30 frickin' bucks - what a deal! You know when you buy something electronic by "DigiLand" that you've purchased a bottom-of-the-barrel device. Don't be a fool & expect anything more, and you'll be satisfied. This tablet feels like a cheap plastic kid's toy, which is s good thing because it's so cheap that I'm not even going to get a case or a screen protector for it. It's not even worth it. I'm just gonna use the screen film it came with until I can't stand it any more. I won't be sad if it drops and breaks because it was THIRTY. FRICKIN'. DOLLARS!!!!!!! This is the perfect tablet to just have around as a spare for those times you leave your phone in the basement and you're too lazy to go get it, you can't find your Roku remote, and you just want to pause your dang show. It's literally a throw-away tablet that can help relieve first world problems and I, for one, totally appreciate that.

In my opinion, not worth the gamble
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As others have said some like it others have no success. I am of the latter. I bought this solely to use as a controller for my drone vs. a smartphone. I installed the one controller app and it was always sluggish, sometimes freezing up. I will be returning it after one week because the last straw - battery died. Took it off the charger, and went to use it 1 hour later and the battery was dead. Would not even boot up. From day 1 it always ran hot, my 4 year old Acer barely gets warm and I use that playing games til the battery needs charging. Probably an issue with quality control, some are good others not. Not worth the gamble to invest the time on buying then returning, even at this price point.

Cheap, but worthless - in my case, anyway
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel so bad....my dear, sweet wife bought one of these for me for Christmas - but the thing is completely useless. First, it would not complete the setup routine without crashing. I finally found a YouTube video that addressed the issue and gave a fix. It's the day after Christmas and it's asking for a password - and the only password I'd entered does not work! So I guess it needs the software completely reloaded, or something. The camera in the thing is horrible, the software is horrible. When it was working the apps crashed, over and over. I'm completely shocked that anyone has bought one of these and said, "It's pretty good, for the money..." - or whatever. You can buy a used Ipad 3 with a warranty on an auction site for about 100 bucks. This is complete junk - and she paid 45 bucks for this thing....! Purchased online, just hope a store will take it back. I wouldn't recommend this to an enemy.....let alone a friend.

Very nice little tablet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it 3 weeks and it runs like a champ. I bought it for games only. I wanted a droid for google play. Great buy... 16 gigs of memory, for the price is what sold me. Go ahead and buy it people... it’s worth more than the asking price. I’m very happy with it!
