If you've played one disgaea, you've played them all. Yes there's new additions to the battle system but it feels like the same game. Would only recommend to diehard fans

I have been playing the Disgaea series since the beginning and can safely say that outside of the original this is the best one yet! The new cast of characters and new features really injected a bit of new life into an otherwise old formula. Just finished the story mode and entered the post-game, which, as most Disgaea fan will tell you, is where the real game begins.

This was my first Disgaea game and I definitely see why the franchise has a dedicated fanbase. The characters are over the top anime tropes, but all were likable enough. The music really stood out as being pretty unique and the setting was interesting. I didn't care for the graphical style, which has that super clean, software drawn, iOS/Android game look to it. The big issue for me was the snails pace of the gameplay. To me, a more simplified, streamlined gameplay system would have worked a lot better. Being a newcomer I suppose doesn't help, but in the early going it seemed concepts and mechanics were just falling over each other in the tutorial missions. Even though I've played PC strategy games before, I don't think I've ever played a strategy game that required so many button presses to get things done. It was pretty overwhelming and it really got in the way of me enjoyment of the game. That being said, as I mentioned the game does have charm, a fairly unique setting and some cool music.

Disgaea 5 continues with the same grid based strategy combat from the previous titles and includes a longer story mode than earlier titles in the series. Back are the familiar item world and grinding maps, crazy combos, beautiful animations and characters. Series veterans will find it easy to jump right in and feel at home.

Wasn't really interesting to play. I was looking for more action rpg but this wasn't whaI was looking for.

This game is a lot of fun and i have lost hours playing it.

This is a fun game, but the storyline is not my favorite. I like the goofy characters, but I miss the seriousness that the first game had. The game mechanics are improved but story wise I was let down.

If you like disgae, then it's more of what you love. But if you dont know it then basically its final fantasy tactics, but with lots of customization.

This game is my first time with the series, but it has been very fun. I wish it wasnt such a lengthy game though, battles can take quite a long time and require skill

Had been waiting for this to go on sale and received the Launch Day edition, which is a lot better than expected.

It's a great game either way, but if you can, get the launch edition. The extras are killer!

A great game for any fan of strategy RPGs. Glad to see the series continue on PS4.

A must by for RPG gamers; lots of character building and strategy.
