The game is great; everything one would expect from a Disgaea game. Good strategy, fun script, and faster paced than previous games in the series thanks to fast forward and skip buttons for the battle animations. There is nothing disappointing about the game, in so far as I've played. Of course, I'm judging based on the demo alone; Best Buy lost my preorder. I ordered in store, went to pick it up, and according to the clerk its awaiting my pickup, except that they don't have it. She checked inventory, and apparently they have negative one copy, meaning they sold mine. Such a nice way to get a special edition...

Great strategy RPG with hundreds of hours of content. Graphics are great, gameplay is fun and the game has a great story. Highly recommended for Disgaea veterans or newcomers.

Really digging this game so far. It brings enough to new mechanics into Disgaea to really impress veteran players and is approachable enough for new ones. Great SRPG with tons of content.

I love the art direction and wacky dialogue of past Disgaea games, and this one continues the fine tradition. This can be a game for grinders, but there is still plenty of joy to be had playing through the game to progress the awesome story!

The gameplay and aesthetics have been vastly improved upon from the previous games, although the story is more serious compared to the others. Post-game still reigns supreme.

its been a few years since i played disgaea on playstation 2. and while i enjoyed the story in that game, i got bored with the needed item world grinding LONG before i finished it. i never played disgaea 2-4, nor d2. so i figured there would be plenty of new things to do in this game. i was wrong. I still have to item world tons of things, i still have to drop back to level 1 over and over for better stat growth, and i still find the majority of the playable classes to be worthless.

My first Disgaea ever, even though I've ben gaming near two decades with RPG's being my main genre. It is overwhelming to say the least, the depth of the combatsystem (the shear potential of options), the levelcap (9999 for characters, 500 for items), the line-up of allies (100+)... It is turnbased and takes place on several set and random boards on which you position yourself, which adds more strategic elements to the game. That being said I would summarise its bad points as being too cartoony, a horrible and boring story and the most annoying thing about it being the fact that a game like this, taking 100's of hours to fully complete, has one combat- and one menusong.. You can feel your braincells killing themselves. Anyway, nothing Spotify can't remedy. I'd advise this game to any strategy-gamer!

This game has many improved features, with more class to recruit, more customization, and new features. + characters can now be created without using mana +class ranking system is imrprouved and easier to do +more classes, skills, and color customization -character sprites aren't as hi res as they could be

Disgaea 5 is a great new entry to the series and really shines on the PS4. Definitely a must buy.

For Disgaea purists, 5 doesn't disappoint. Hundreds of hours can be easily sunk into this game so watch out!

If you have enjoy the previous games then this is a must.

This is a good strategy RPG. You probably know the genre if you are even looking at this game. It is akin to FF Tactics and Fire Emblem.
