If you love the Disgaea series, you've probably already played Disgaea 6. If you haven't, I wouldn't rush to go play it. If you haven't tried a Disgaea yet, this is an incredible series, but even though you don't have to play the games in order, please don't start with this one.

It was the best, and worst of Disgaea

This one is a mixed bag. There are some leaps forward, steps sideways, and hops directly backward. THE BAD: - The new scripting system that allows you to automate battles cheapens the game and makes you feel less invested in each battle. Once I had a couple of decent algorithms, the game played itself and wasn't a challenge. - Too few classes. - Monster units are limited. No more magichange. - Some menus and movements are slower in this game than in previous games. - Graphical performance on the Switch isn't great. It's not a make-or-break deal in an SRPG, but the unsteady framerate is noticeable on any of the configurable settings they provide. THE GOOD: - The new scripting system. Yes. It's a good and bad thing. I don't know that I would want to play a Disgaea game without it anymore, but it still doesn't work for the reasons stated above. Navigating Disgaea battles were muscle memory to me. I was quick, but it's hard to argue with how much the scripting system speeds things up. If only there was a good balance between player involvement in battles and the utility of the scripting engine. - The story is good for a Disgaea game. I think it's probably my second favorite after the fifth game. - The 3d models are solid. - There's a lot of content to grind through if you want to see it all.

    The addictive, neverending grind!

If you're new to Disgaea, this strategy RPG is alllll about the grind. Constantly leveling up your units in a hundred different systems with infinite dungeons and outrageous special moves. The sheer complexity is the appeal, the never-ending grind is the draw. If that sounds like fun you may have just found your new favorite series. The addictive gameplay is right at home on the Switch. Story is pretty much an afterthought though, and graphically it's not very impressive.

Story is slap stick as always. Gameplay is on par. This entry in the series feels right at home with the rest. Download the demo and give it a shot. Worth full price in my opinion.

I put this one up for sale in my eBay store and bought the PS4 version because I like trophies but it's really just part of my growing backlog at this point.

I have played many Disgaea's and this one is no different, but in a good way. Fun story arc but the real fun (if you are into this) is the grind. Building the team of characters to be super powerful, crazy hit points (millions). Different characters, weapons, monsters all to be controlled in a turn base chess sort of way. This game will have me playing it for hours.

Another great entry in the Disgaea series. Lot's of great humor and of course the great tactics battle system and grinding. I was a bit skeptical of the switch to 3D graphics but I think the graphics look great. There are some minor frame rate dips but given the tactics combat, it does not hinder the playing experience. I highly recommend this game to new and returning Disgaea fans.

With many streamlined improvements towards leveling up, Disgaea 6 continues the series madcap level grinding and successfully makes it both accessible to new players while still maintaining the deeper complexity to please long time fans.

Disgaea 6 is probably the most accessible game in the series. The transition to full 3D models, from the preexisting sprites, looks nice, but there is some FPS slowdowns in certain areas. I am enjoying it and definitely recommend it to somebody who is interested in trying a Disgaea game.

The visuals take a bit to get use to compared to the other games in the series but still a solid sequel. One of the best tactical rpg games out there

its more of the same Disgaea. if you played previous version, its more of the same with different characters. they did add the ability to auto fight.. makes the grind a lot easier. One of the drags to this series is the level grind... so this game made that easier where you can let it auto fight for you.
