Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the fun gameplay and expansive content offered by Disney Infinity: 3.0 Edition Toy Box Takeover, praising its compatibility with characters across different Disney Infinity versions and the enjoyable addition of Star Wars elements. However, some customers felt the price point was a bit high and that the game's length could have been improved. The camera angle also received some negative feedback.

Bad Mouse: Takeover should have been part of 3.0

I received this item for free by pre-ordering 3.0. The game play itself is solid and on par with the rest of Disney Infinity, but with Syndrome (presumably pre-jet engine death) in control. My daughter loves it. However, at $19.99 I would be fairly irritated to have to buy what amounts to a short expansion that should have been included in the 3.0 release. Consider: in addition to paying $65 for the starter pack, each additional figure is at least $13.99. So buying the bundle, takeover and, say, two figurines cost $112 + tax. You're basically a third of the way to a new PS4. (Note: I have at least 15 figures.) We all know this is about Disney making money, but more and more this smacks of price gouging. Bad Mouse.

I've been playing video games since I was a child, but my wife definitely is not a gamer. Super smash bros, while tons of fun for me, is too chaotic for her. That being said, we can play Infinity together and both have a good time. Toy Box takeover adds a story-based expansion where you have to retrieve Merlin's wand from the bad guys. You can use any and all figures from Disney 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0, meaning I can have Thor and Yoda fighting side by side. Great fun.

For those of you that played the Disney Infinity 2.0 expansion discs, this game is very similar to Brave Siege and Escape the Kiln – but much, much, more updated. These expansions feel like a play set and unlock valuable content in the Toy Box. It provided us with hours of fun and we still have several things to unlock. For those that enjoy getting 100% on games, any of these expansions are great additions to Disney Infinity.

If you own Disney Infinity 3.0 I'd strongly suggest picking this up as well. It is a mashup of sorts where you can use any Disney Infinity character to play a new side story quest. It unlocks additional sidekicks and items for sidekicks. The levels are randomize and consist of tasks such as reaching an objective, defeating all enemies or beating a boss.

While Disney Infinity is great as a standalone game, or playing with specific characters in their respective play set, the Toy Box Takeover is a great way to get any and all figures in on the action. The gameplay is easy to follow and challenging. Some levels and bosses seem like they were randomly put together, but it's a lot of fun. Want to destroy Stormtroopers on the Death Star while operating an AT-ST en route to fight Darth Vader while playing as Tinkerbell? Want to fight against Darth Maul while playing as Mickey Mouse? You can do it here! I did!

This is kind of like a "my first rpg" for kids. This is a lot like last year's Escape from the Kyln, but there is more emphasis on the sidekicks. It plays smooth. However, if you have to pay for it, $20 is a little steep especially when they were free with every preorder.

I love that you can play with ANY character, my biggest issue was that I had a hard time seeing as the camera is pulled back quite a bit than the regular toybox....still fun though. And I can't complain since it was free with pre-ordering.

My daughter and son were fans of the last Disney Infinity 2.0, but they have fell in love all over again with 3.0. My daughter (who is 6) especially loves that she can play any of her old characters in the Toy Box Takeover. When I play with them this expansion feels like I'm playing an old school Dungeon Crawler but with the Disney Infinity flavor. You get to see a good deal of the intellectual properties that work together in fun ways that keep things challenging, but super fun! Must have if you already own Infinity 3.0.

Toy Box Takeover Expansion is a cool way that Infinity is bringing all of the characters together. 3.0 is the best of the Infinity games so far and this is just another reason. Toy Box Takeover is a dungeon crawler where you and your sidekicks (oh yeah) take on tons of enemies and eventually Syndrome. Any characters can be used in the Takeover and it is well worth purchasing.

Toy box takeover is an expansion game for disney infinity that lets you play through a play set style game with any infinity character you have (minus cars vehicles). This toy box set is a fun purchase to allow you to get any character into the action as the standard playsets are themed and only allow characters from their genre (Star wars characters in sw sets, Marvel in marvel sets, etc.). Sometimes the sets are even more restrictive (can't use Spiderman in the Avengers set). Toy box takeover allows you to play the set like experience with any two infinity characters you may have. Syndrome causing trouble? Team up Hulkbuster with scorcerer mickey and go beat up Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. Have Darth Vader and Merida take a journey. Great set for letting all your characters have fun without set limitations.

So we already love Disney INFINITY 3.0, and having so many figures, well, you can only play the play sets so many times before it becomes repetitive. So with the Takeover game piece, it gives us yet another way to play. Game takes queues from the playset games of 2.0, and adds them to a bigger world. New sidekicks make for a good partner. My only complaint is that the game is a bit short, about 3 hours for main adventure, then back to find all of the sidekicks. But I do feel it's a worthwhile purchase to add to the fun of Disney Infinity.

This is a fun supplement to Disney Infinity 3.0. You'll get to battle enemies through 5 different toy boxes plus a Hero Destroyer portal that is similar to the 2.0 Survival Exploration portal but comes with a boss battle at the end of each level and allows you to unlock new sidekicks. Probably the best part of this toy box expansion is the cool toys you get to unlock for your own toy boxes like: a pirate ship (with canons), the Death Star Trash Compactor, and a Vault with combination lock. It's quite short but you can replay the levels.
