Customers are impressed with the fun gameplay and expansive content offered by Disney Infinity: 3.0 Edition Toy Box Takeover, praising its compatibility with characters across different Disney Infinity versions and the enjoyable addition of Star Wars elements. However, some customers felt the price point was a bit high and that the game's length could have been improved. The camera angle also received some negative feedback.

My kids love the Disney Infinity games and characters and this expansion game is no different. It worked as expected but it should be noted that the game itself has been discontinued so no other new characters will be released. This isn't really a problem since the game and characters can still be played so it's a good idea to pick up these games and characters while you still can!

I received this expansion as a pre-order bonus for Disney Infinity 3.0 from Best Buy. It's a fun game that allows you to use any figures that you want, but it is quite short. However, there is a stage called the "Hero Destroyer" that has loads of unlockables. You have to play through it at least 25 times to collect everything. Plus that particular stage has random modifiers, such as you must clear on horseback, you can only use a certain weapon, and various other things that make it interesting. The story and cutscenes are fun too.

The Toybox Takeover expansion feels like an evolution of the Kyln and Forest Siege Toybox games from Disney Infinity 2.0. The difference here is that Takeover has a little more depth, a loose storyline, and the bonus of being able to use any character you want. It also features quite a few unlockables in the form of concept art, toybox decorations and objects, and sidekicks for other game modes as well as subsequent plays of Toybox Takeover. It's great to play with a partner, and a fun way to level up your characters.

I received this game free as part of a pre-order. I was pleasantly surprised at how deep this expansion game is. It covers a number of Disney lands and characters and plays like a true stand alone game. It is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

This is a nice expansion and was glad to get it free when preordering the game, but not worth anything more than $5-10.

I recently purchased this to start my daughter on Xbox One. She is only 5 years old and has always wanted to play the games I am playing. She also loved Darth Vader even without ever watching Star Wars before, so gave her the both of best worlds along with easier gameplay. Also nice that I can play as whoever I want without using Star Wars characters.

Finally! We have a fully formed game for all those Infinity characters left out of playsets! This game is a blast. It reminds me of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games in that the view is overhead, there is a lot of exploration, and tons of brawling. I enjoy this game immensely. And it's great to be able to throw any character I want into the fray! :D

This was included as a preorder bonus for the game. Having played it though, I certainly think it's worth the purchase. Like any of the toy box expansions, the length of the skirmish is rather small but filling. The ability to play it through with any character offers some new life to your older figures and there is a plethora of unlockables to be gained through regular play. A nice alternative to the Star Wars and Inside/Out sets.

Secretly the Best Disney Infinity Playset

One of the biggest drawbacks to Disney Infinity is that characters are limited to specific playsets. Or worse, the unaffiliated ones are relegated to fan made Toy Box levels. Toy Box Takeover lets you play with any characters you have on a full fun adventure. Your kids want to play as Elsa and Anna from Frozen? Sure. Chewbacca and Iron Man? Why not.
The only drawback is that it's short but then so is every Disney Infinity playset.

I really like the add on aspect of this and it is slightly challenging. The major issue is the camera angle with the force isometric angle that reminds me of the old-school games similar to Landstalker. Despite this, it is neat to explore the different worlds and a new story. Plus, the sidekicks are kind of fun too.

Great set of mini-games for the Infinity crowd. Each one is set in a different environment from the different categories.
The good thing is that combat difficulty can be set for each one, so the kids can still have fun with it, and more advanced players can make it a bit more challenging.
Wish it was longer.

I love the fact that you can continually expand this game. Granted, I feel like this is cash grab on their part, but since I got it on sale, it was well worth the investment. Only need to play it a handful of times to get return on the investment and we've easily surpassed that in our house.

For a kids game I still find this quite entertaining as an adult. Building levels is fun, and you can create many different objectives and level building can be quite time consuming.
Controls are simple, as is general game play, but the stories are decent if you like star wars.
Other than that, the figures can get expensive if you want many of them but they are fun designs

This is a completely different view of playing in the the Disney infinity world. It allows you to use all the characters for the infinity world. It is a top down view game-play style that allows you to choose your difficulty level in case you have some less experienced gamers playing.

For the first time, you can actually play ALL of the characters together in a playset! Toy Box Takeover is a Diablo-style dungeon crawler that allows you to play as any character together. It's a terrific game. If you have Infinity 3.0, Toy Box Takeover is definitely a must-have!

It was Star wars that drew me into Disney Infinity 3.0 but there is so much to do. Toy box take over is a good example of the vastness of Disney Infinity. Its a cool side story that allows you to play as any infinity character in a top down dungeon crawler like world. Its a ton a fun for multiple people at once and it has some pretty cool unlockables

Fun to be had, but RUN!

This fun romp through the toybox introduces the most annoying villain for Disney Infinity. No spoilers, but lets just say, "just run". That said, you can outsmart it if you have a powerful flying character like Maleficent or any others. There are lots of fun new set pieces in this game and used to great effect. Definitely lots of fun to be had.
