I really got into this movie. I liked the book even more but seeing it on the big screen is such a rush. I especially like the two disk blue ray/dvd pack. This way if my blue ray dies I can still watch on a dvd player. Acting was really good. Most of the characters were played by the right actors. Just one didn't fit at least for me. Not gonna tell you who. Read the book and watch the movie and decide for yourself.

Another movie based on a fictitious dystopian future. The plot was fairly weak, but that is somewhat to be expected in this genre. The acting was above average, with Shailene Woodley and Theo James giving the strongest performances. The special effects and action sequences were well done. Not as good as other movies in the genre (i.e. Hunger Games) but an enjoyable, just not spectacular, viewing experience.

While these books were nowhere near as powerful as The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, or The Lord of the Rings, they do provide a fun dystopian story. The first installment of the series, kicks off with a surprisingly good movie. The budget they had to work with wasn't great, which speaks all the more highly of the mostly unknown cast. The blu ray looks great and has a decent amount of special features for you to enjoy

As a lover of the Divergent book series first, I had my doubts that any movie could bring to life all I had envisioned, but this film is spot on. Not only did the movie have great acting, and fantastic special effects, but it also following the original plot line to a te. Readers can't be mad about this movie, and those who have never read the books will be able to see what have the hype is about.

This adaptation from Veronica Roth's novel depicts a post-apocalyptic Chicago in the near future. I really enjoyed the Blue Ray version of the movie. I would have liked more deleted scenes, and the music video was a little corny; however, I enjoyed the documentary about what faction would you choose? with the cast members. The metal case is constructed fairly well, with symbols on the backside of the factions. Also included we some temporary tattoos!

I really liked this now that I have seen it again on home video. It followed to closely the release of Hunger Games II and they have enough similarities that took away from this film when i saw it in theaters. Seeing it again though with more time between seeing Hunger Games II makes a lot of difference. I really liked the music(Score and Songs), actors and characters. Looking forward to what lies ahead for this story since I haven't read the books!

Similar to the Hunger Games in that the story revolves around young adults dealing with an out of control government. This story is about those who do not fit the mold as determined by the government and their decisions not to change and be themselves. This is the first in the series. Leaves you ready for the second installment. Good story that is somewhat relevant to today's society with good characters you can get behind and support.

Must upgrade your choice of packaging for shipping this type of product. Received damaged in the mail from Pre-ordering online. Had to drive to a local store to exchange this before it was sold out on release day, as the local stores only receive under (10) units. Got lucky as they had (2) left, but had to wait for 30+minutes @ the returns desk when it should of, could of been received in good order if it had been shipped in a "proper" box.

This is a bestbuy exclusive steelbook that has a matte finish, not a glossy one. These types of steelbooks can easily get damaged compared to a glossy steelbook. The movie is great for what its worth. People may feel this is a Twilight, Hunger Games, etc. rip off but what isnt? Did the movie accomplished its goal as an entertaining moving film? Yes but some will have their own opinion. I've enjoyed it and look forward to the trilogy.

There is really nothing wrong with this movie per se as it is a young adult novel-turned-movie and my kids do enjoy it. But there are parts in here where it really reminds me of The Hunger Games and sadly, makes me wish that I was watching The Hunger Games instead because that movie just has a much better premise and storyline. But if you do have tweens and kids, I'm sure that they will like this movie just fine.

The movie is worth watching. It mostly follows the book but as usual leaves some details out. There are some aspects of the plot that could have been developed better and only add a few more minutes to the length of the movie. For instance, the tension between the factions should have been developed more because their faction system seems like a great utopia until all of a sudden out of the blue, its time to raise an army and battle.

I made my purchase, they arrived before the estimated delivery date and were very well packaged.

Most book to movie adaptation are lousy. Lets be honest, no one liked Twilight, they just liked the men of Twilight. Harry Potter and the Hunger Games are about the only youth/young adult movies that are worth watching, but Divergent makes its case as a deserving competitor. Follows the book better than expected and isn't nearly as cheesy as it could have been. Let's just hope the rest of the series stays on the same path.

I had purchased Insurgent first (somehow) and then got this movie to add to my collection. By having both I find that it didn't lose any quality in the continuing 'saga' and i look forward to acquiring the next one! I liked the action, quality of acting and the great plot. If you like futuristic movies, this is a good one to add to your collection!

Divergent is the first film in the series of the same name. It is about a society that has broken up into factions according to each person's aptitudes, and how inevitably that system is no longer working. Tris is Divergent and doesn't fit into any of the factions. Along with Four she fights to expose the corruption in the system and save her family. It contains high action and romance.

I really enjoy this movie though I am aware that a difference of preference exists among viewers. If you like other movies of the same genre, you will probably enjoy this one too. I enjoy watching this one over and over. An advantage of this package is the Digital Download with allows you to download the movie directly to your phone without a computer and the DVD.

I was surprised I enjoyed it being that it was made to capitalize on The Hunger Games' success but it proved to be its own story and was very entertaining. Granted, it's not as good as The Hunger Games but it is better than all the Harry Potter and Twilight knockoffs we have seen come and go the past decade. Great cast and never boring, I recommend it for a fun time.

It's a little future science fiction and action mixed up. It's the type of genre that I like the most and it was a well made film in my opinion. It probably will not win any awards but it is good entertainment if you don't pick apart the context too deeply. If you just watch it for the movie it is and not try to compare it to anything else you will be entertained.

I'd not seen this in theaters and thought it might be too much like Hunger Games and wasn't sure if I needed so many movies being that similar. However, the books were well written and the movie (although in the same genre as Hunger Games) was not as similar as I had assumed, and was very good! I was surprised and look forward to seeing more from this series

A good movie without s-e-x and profanity? Yes, and thankfully so, although I would not watch it with my 9 year old nephew because there are violent scenes. But parents and legal guardians will not find themselves fidgeting nervously while adolescent girls drool over the cast of male leads and adolescent boys get excited for all the action. Wholesome? No. Thought provoking? Yes. I did enjoy watching this one.
