Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the Osmo Mobile 2's ease of use, high-quality video, and impressive stability as significant advantages. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and generally positive price point. However, some users find the size somewhat cumbersome and have noted occasional challenges with the software and instructions. Despite these minor drawbacks, the positive feedback on video quality and ease of use strongly outweighs the negative comments.

Took it on our family vacation to Jamaica to vlog and I loved it. My video quality and stability came out great using the Osmo2 plus I was able to keep my phone charged using the gimbal. The only downfall was you can't charge your phone while you are using the gimbal but overall its great!

This is a must for any filmmaker, or anyone who likes to walk down the street and record. This gimbal has amazing stability, the ability to zoom in and out through on-board controls, as great battery life! The software comes with easy-to-follow instructions through DJI, and even has a follow feature. You simply touch the face of the person that you want to follow and draw a box around them. And as they move the gimbal will automatically turn to the left or to the right and follow them. Be careful when purchasing this product. They are supposed to come with a three-legged low-profile tripod, but mine did not. My friend have one included in his for desktop use and pay the same price. Unfortunately I had to go to Amazon and purchase a generic metal stand for $10. That's the only reason I did not give this a 5-star review.

I got this for my family to record some videos during a family event. This is an easy to use product that can significantly change the quality of videos especially if you record them while moving. It's much cheaper than professional gimbals but does a great job for the price. Also it is great for beginners. I gave it to my family members and they all were able to record great videos with good stabilization. My favorite features are 1. Active tracking - This is the best feature. Select an object and unless they are moving very rapidly, this things works like a charm. Similar products from other brands had tracking issues which was important to me. 2. Mobile app associated with it. 3. Easy access button such as joystick, record button and click pic button makes all the difference. 4. Battery life is amazing. The battery is so powerful that you can charge your phone with it. Only downside i found is the size of the product. but again, if you compare it to other products in this category, it's not that bad.

I have a small YouTube channel that is 100% shot and edited on iPhone. While the picture quality is exceptional, sometimes the vlogs could get a little bumpy, especially while walking on a gravel path or chasing after a wayward chicken. Enter: DJI Osmo Mobile 2. The app integration is great, and my videos improved instantly. They are so smooth and professional, it looks like I’m using a full DSLR setup, but it’s an iPhone X. I definitely would recommend if you’re doing any sort of video on the regular with your phone, like kids sports, vlogs, etc. The rechargeable batter has a great life and the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 has exceeded my expectations.

This handheld smartphone gimbal works great. It truly makes video look cinematic and professionally smooth. Unfortunately the DJI Go editing software tool sucks! It's easy to load your videos and preloaded music track and all looks great until you hit the complete button. Once you're video creation claims it's done and you go to play it back, you will find your video missing music halfway through or your clips were cut short. Basically it can't patch your clips together for a proud shareable video. They need to fix their software! You will need to purchase editing software from some other company. Other than that, the gimbal software works well with my Moto Z Force phone.

Build quality is great and so is the feature of the gimbal and the accompanying app. My only gripe is that since I use an Xs Max, if I have a case on my phone, it’s too heavy to be supported by the motors in the gimbal! So for example, I use Hitcase’s splash case and magnetic lenses, my phone can’t be held up at all. I have to use it without a case (yikes) or BUY counterweights, which should have come with the device if it’s gonna be listed as compatible with my phone. Because I refused to pay extra for something that should be included, I just taped a few quarters on the motor arm and went on with my day, it works just as well.

This gimbal is top quality, even though it is made completely out of plastic unlike the 1st edition that was an aluminum alloy, but came in at a much more expensive price. The DJI Osmo moble 2 is lightweight, has great software features like timelapse and hyperlapse that are easy to use, and comes in a nice hard foam case that is similar to all other DJI products. The overall usability of the gimbal is good. It’s a great gimbal for a beginner videographer who wants to get those buttery smooth cinematic shots. There is a small learning curve to using a gimbal, it’s not as intuitive as one may think. Also this gimbal has killer battery life.

This works great with my IPhone X. Gives you the ability to capture great pictures and stable video. Took it on a hike and was able to follow the kiddos and did not have to keep looking to make sure they were in the video, you can lock onto a subject and it will do a pretty good job of staying with them. Also gives you the ability to take long exposure shots for some cool night pictures. You can set it up in landscape or portrait, your choice. Yes it is weird at first when you are carrying it around, but after a while you don't notice and when you look at your videos later, you will be glad you had it.

was a bit skeptical at first but it does work and gives smoother footage as opposed to hand held. with the price point at the time but I have found that the devices seems to crash and spin the motors out and I would have to reset to get it back under control. It doesn't happen all the time but when it did it was at the worse possible time when recording just had to do a retake. hopefully the new version corrects that issue. but still over all a good product as it also doubles as a power bank. good for on a budget content creator.

The gimble was very nice and cool to use. It was simple to set up and easy to handle. The major issue I came across is controlling the phone camera with the gimbal. You have zero controls unless you’re using the DJI app. I use filmic pro which in my opinion is better and more optimized for a film maker. Battery is great and the feel of the gimbal fits well in your hand. Very smooth footage. Great gimbal for hobbyist but if you need more control over the camera you might want something else.

It has long battery life, took it to Universal and used it to capture some amazing smooth footage. The build quality is excellent. For a successful use, first practice and familiarize with controls. The only con I can think of is that when not in use, it just let the phone hang. I wonder if there can be a carrier or some clip can be added to hang it on your pants while you need to take a break. Otherwise, you have to dismount phone and carefully tuck it away in a bag.

Since the camera in my Pixel XL phone is rated one of the best, I thought I would get a stabilizer for it. I think that the footage from the phone using the Osmo is better that the unstabilized video from my DSLR. The Osmo Mobile 2 uses the DJI go app. From drone flying I am familiar with this app so the learning curve was easy. My favorite feature of the Osmo with the DJI app is the motion time lapse. The only problem I had was that the first one I got was defective out of the box. The second one would not turn on at the store when I exchanged it, but after an initial charge works perfectly. The only thing I think could be improved would be the addition of a gimbal lock as the thing kind of flops around when not in use unless put back in its case. All in all, this is a great gadget for casual cell phone video.

The Osmo Mobile 2 is very easy to set up and operate. No more jiggle cam when shooting video with my Iphone 6. Being able to shoot motion timelapses is one of the many bonuses. The Osmo Mobile 2 works well with the DJI app as well as many other video apps. For the price, this gimbal cannot be beat. I'm very pleased, I've had it for a month and haven't had to recharge it yet.

I ride Segways and other electric vehicles and wanted a way to up my motion video quality as I'm vlogging so I bought the DJI - Osmo for my Samsung Galaxy S9 and was personally pleased that it was lightweight, though some people argue that the first gen metal version of this product is better quality. I personally didn't think the quality of plastic was poor or anything. I didn't like that you had to pry open the arms of the phone holder with one hand while shoving your phone in with the other hand. It was very awkward and my phone barely fit. The directions we not easy to understand so I went to youtube and figured out how to use the counterweights to balance my phone to reduce the work the motor has to do keeping your phone steady. Unfortunately, my phone was big enough that the counterweights didn't help too much or get it balanced perfectly, so I suspect the motor has to work harder, ultimately reducing the battery life some. I was able to look past all of that but there was still one glaring issue that for me was absolutely unacceptable. The little back arm piece of the mechanical arm itself sticks out and is almost always in the video like someone's thumb over the camera. There are plenty of youtube videos that address this issue and with the right phone size and practice, you can eventually maneuver the gimbals motor to angle your camera away from "the nub" but why would we have to ever do that, DJI!?!?!?! I do like how well the gimbal works to keep my videos steady and have enjoyed watching the finished product but it's definitely an entry-level gimbal and could be constructed better. For the price, I felt it was worth my investment. But I wouldn't recommend this to my friends.

Hey Alex, I'm glad you're still glad you got the Osmo Mobile 2. The issues you mentioned are certainly noted. Since we're always developing new products we always appreciate customer feedback. What we did with Osmo Mobile 2 is give customers one of the most powerful smartphone stabilizers at the lowest price possible. The balance limitations and the arm partially blocking your camera is a consequence of the geometric constraints of a small stabilizer and smartphone camera placements. Thanks so much for your input! The built quality of this gimbal is quite nice. The features are fairly expansive and easy to use. It can be tough to use if you have a large phone. I have the Pixel 3 XL and it barely fits. Once it was securely in place there is a slight issue with range of motion but nothing a little getting used to can't fix. If you don't try difficult moves with it you won't even notice it.

Very short learning curve, easy to use, solid performance for the money. It does not remove all of your shake but it certainly reduces it. In addition, it handles wobble almost perfectly within reason. I don't recommend using this as an action cam gimbal, as it's not rugged or water resistant. This will certainly help make your videos watchable if you are a youtube creator.

I had to exchange this gimbal twice before I receive the good one. first two units was defective out of box. Motors were making terrible noise when moving even though phone was completely balanced. Third replacement works great out of box with my Galaxy Note 8. I hope DJI improves the quality control for their product. The App is excellent and takes great videos. I have Zhiyun Smooth Q as well and I prefer DJI Osmo Mobile 2 over Smooth Q because of the functionality of DJI GO App and battery life. I removed one star because of the first 2 gimbals which were defective.
