This is Jon Pertwee first appearance as the 3rd Doctor along with Caroline John as his companion. This also the first episode in color and on bluray which they did a nice restoration job. Enjoyed the story with the alien invasion and the twist and turns. A nice addition to my collection.

    Dr Who & The Silurians

This story is from the 7th season of the original series and is one of the ones fans remember best from Pertwee's tenure as The Doctor. It is well written (I believe the seventh season has the best writing in the show's entire history). It is not an ADD story as it takes its time and yet does not bore. it builds up suspense and keeps going. Jon Pertwee is my favorite Doctor and this is one of his best. It has a conflicting message. I feel both The Doctor and The Brigadier had valid points in their contrasting views but I more so agree with The Brig's view on the whole situation. I love this show and this story is a great one with real intensity and great 1970's twist on a classic monster premise (a lost race wanting Earth back). You can't miss with the other classic tales from Dr Who's 7th season (Spearhead From Space, Ambassador's of Death & Inferno). This one along with its sister tale from the 9th season The Sea Devils are essential viewing for Jon Pertwee's Doctor.

    Best Season 7 Story

This is the best and final episode of Season 7, starring Jon Pertwee in the role of the Doctor, with Caroline John as Liz Shaw, the Doctor's Assistant as well as the UNIT folks. Like many stories from this era, there is a not unnoticable "ecological" vibe throughout the story. The only downside to this story is that clocking in at 7 episodes, it is at least one episode too long. On the plus side, we get to visit an alternate universe, where we get to see the evil versions of Liz, the Brigadier and Benton amongst others. I recommend to buy this one.

    The Third Doctor On Blu-ray

This is the only story from the 1963-89 original series to get a Blu-ray release. It's the debut of Jon Pertwee as the third Doctor, and introduces UNIT and series regulars for the mostly Earth-bound stories. With this story Doctor Who became about as close as it ever would to being an outright action adventure series. Great fun!

This is one of the classic stories from the series, with gun battles, paranoid plots, aliens who may or may not be invading the Earth and the Doctor in full swing trying to stave off disaster.

The final story of Jon Pertwee's first year as the Doctor, this seven-part story doesn't have a dull moment in it. As the story takes place in "our" universe as well as a parallel Earth, there is the added treat of seeing two versions of many of the major characters.

This is really a fantastic old Doctor Who episode where the second doctor transforms at the end into the 3rd doctor! It is really great to see it actually happen! And the old black and white quality is a hoot!!

Spearhead from Space is the first appearance of the third doctor(John Pertwee) and it is even better on Bluray. If you love old school Doctor Who Episodes and hate grainy video, then this is the video to watch.

This is perhaps the Third Doctor's best story full of intrigue and a bit different. The disk extras are good as well.

Perhaps Pertwee's best episode. A great send off to Liz Shaw, a character ahead of her time.
