After 5 years with Jon Pertwee in the role, the new Doctor arrives at last in the personage of Tom Baker. This story also introduces the late Ian Marter as Lt. Harry Sullivan, who travelled with the Doctor throughout this season.
Having just regenerated after the events of "Planet of the Spiders", the Doctor finds himself up agains the Giant Robot, or rather its evil masters. Lots of humor and action throughout as we see the seeds of where Tom Baker will bring the 4th Doctor. This is a required story to own for all fans of Doctor Who.

The 2nd story of the Fourth Doctor's Era, continuing on from "Robot". Taking place entirely on a Space Station, the Doctor and his companions Sarah Jane and Harry must save the day when the population of the station come under attack while in cryo-sleep.
This story is a required purchase for all fans of Doctor Who.

This is an excellent Cybermen episode from the original run of Doctor Who. It stands out due to it's excellent location work, atmosphere and strong story. Old-school Whovians will be pleased with the story, those new to old Who would be better served starting off with something like "Genesis of the Daleks".

Not the greatest Dr. Who story from the "old" run but a good watch. The 4th Doctor/Tom Baker is one of a kind.

This is a four part BBC serial from 1975. Tom Baker is featured as the Doctor with his companions, Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) and Harry Sullivan (Ian Sullivan). The TARDIS materializes on a space station in orbit around the earth. Humans are in suspended animation chambers on board and huge wasp creatures are using them as hosts.
The image quality is pretty good, without any noticeable compression artifacts. This is a 2 disc release, with all of the extras from an earlier 1 disc release, plus some new extras. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic science fiction television.

The shortest Tom Baker adventure is essentially a segue episode that fills us in a little bit more on the Sontarans. This is the first of the "classic villain trilogy" in which the producers hit us hard and fast with all the great enemies.

This is a great story to end Tom Baker's debut season. He has lots of occansional snaps at Harry for being an imbecile (as you'll see at the end of Part 3 and beginning of part 4) and a few good one-liners. Can't wait for Terror of the Zygons now !!
