I loves me a Critierion Blu-ray and the Don't Look Now disc is another winner.
The Movie: This is a slow burn mind bending...thriller? Horror Thriller? Just watch it...its good.
Picture & Sound: For a movie of this age, the picture and sound are great! I've seen other released of this movie and this is by far the best I've seen.
Extras: Lot of great extras here that go into great detail about the movie and its impact on cinema.
It's great! Get it!

One of the best thrillers of the 1970s finally gets the (well deserved) Criterion treatment. "Don't Look Now" is one of those films that you're never truly sure what's going on and where it will go next, but that's part of what makes it so effective. Like an unfolding nightmare that refuses to loosen its grip, "Don't Look Now" culminates in an ending that truly has to be experienced to be believed (and even then, you're still unsure how to react). The transfer and sound restoration on Criterion's disc is a perfect home video representation of the original 70s theatrical presentation and the bonus features, as expected of Criterion, give a very deep insight into Nicolas Roeg's directorial mindset and how the various elements came together perfectly. Highly recommended as an addition to your collection.

there is nothing like a good thriller to curl up with & don't look now gets my vote. julei christie & donald sutherland are simply terrific & the films never fails to give me chills down my spine. nicolas roeg struck gold with this lesser known film in my opinion by taking an old du maurier short story & cranking out a full length nightmare. what makes don't look now so incredible is the sense of dread & fear it instill without the use of gore or excessive violence. the atmosphere here is enough to give one bad dreams for days & to even leave paranoid for a few nights. although films like this that have the incredible subdued quality & the twist ending are more popular today, it's a shame more folks didn't latdch on to the one back in the day. thank god for dvd!

They don't make films like they used to, and this one does not disappoint. This 1974 film takes place Venice and takes use of the creepy back allies. The film is very effective in building suspense and sets a very eerie mood. This is one of those films I found myself saying "oooo, wow," and makes my list of favorites.
