Best FPS game in YEARS
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down the best first person shooter i've played in YEARS. Constant action and never a dull moment. The game is run and gun with amazing graphics. Very fast paced and straight to the point. Story line picks up from Doom (2016) and you once again take on the role of Doom Guy (Doom Slayer). This game will eventually be receiving a PS5 update with improved graphics. Highly recommend this game for anyone that loves FPS games.

Fast paced demon slaying action
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doom 2016 on PS4 was an exercise in patience. The load times were pretty atrocious. They would've been acceptable if they only appeared on level load, but dying and reloading would also put you through that lengthy loading screen. Doom Eternal fixes this issue with the Lives system. Though it does take away from the challenge, it provides a much less frustrating experience. This, combined with more movement and traversal options, helps make for a faster-paced shooter game. The combat is pretty cleverly designed. When the player is low on health, they can freeze enemies. When they are low on armor, they can burn enemies. And when they are low on ammo, they can chainsaw enemies. Enemies themselves become resources. The enemy variety lends to natural incentive to use each and every weapon as well. There are 2 mods for each weapon that change how that weapon functions. I myself found a favorite mod for each weapon and never really switched it up but I never felt like I was lacking in combat options. Altogether these systems keep combat engaging from start to finish. Exploration is worthwhile, providing you with upgrade points, keys, and collectibles. Obtaining all collectibles is made easier with a map that's broken up into sections and a count of collectibles in each section. Once you reach the end of a level, you can freely warp from section to section. Story isn't normally a highlight for the series, and here it's not much more than save mankind from being overrun by demons. But it does lead to some grand setpieces and bossfights.

Definitely THE edition of the game to buy!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rarely play below normal difficulty, but parts of this game were just too much, even on easy, the first time around. In fact, I probably died more on this game's easy level than I do playing Call of Duty and most other shooters on Hard. They throw a LOT at you, and the way bosses become almost common baddies after you beat them for the first time, it's a challenge. There's certainly no place for stealth or strategy at any point of this shooter. The story felt more action oriented than past installments. Even the early games could make me a little nervous when a big bad monster was first introduced. Not so much here, whatever the reason. My only real gripe with the game has to do with the auto-saves. This game has a LOT of crazy jumping and climbing. I fell a lot. In most cases, it puts you back at the very start of the jump/climb level, rather than close to where you actually fell. As someone who didn't really like the jumping levels, this was especially frustrating. In one sequence toward the end I started with full health, ammo and full armor, but fell so many times in the attempt that I drained both health and armor completely and died. When I respawned I only had 25% health 30% ammo, and no armor, which was about what I had when I finished the preceding mega-battle. But I left the battle area with full health, ammo, and armor, traversed a long corridor, even opened a major door, so returning me to a save so far away was more than uncalled for. Anyway you slice it that was just plain bad programming. I played this game on the PS5 - the PS4 version will play on the PS5, but it also has a free PS5 upgrade that popped as soon as I inserted the disc. Fortunately, the PS5 controllers aren't as loose as the PS4 generation controllers always were, so navigating through jumps were a little less frustrating than they might have been had I played through on our PS4-Pro. The free steelbook that Best Buy included (separately) was nice. I was surprised they still had them. It always pays to buy physical. Sad that younger generations may never know what they're really giving up buying digital.

DOOM AT ITS BEST
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello, i can't get enough of this sequel! It can be more than my PS4 can handle. I wish i could find another fault in this sequel. It's extremely satisfying. Exceptionally violent and gory. It's haa the best story line I've ever encountered. I just can't fault it. Even two or three player is possible with each his own play through. Even RE7 with it's horrific game play DOOM will still beat it out as best game of the decade.

Simply Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doom Eternal is one of the most incredible first-person shooters I have ever played. I loved its predecessor, Doom 2016, but Doom Eternal is better in almost every way. It is fast, chaotic, beautiful looking, fun, and very over-the-top. The gameplay is incredibly polished, and even the Multiplayer is good! If you liked Doom 2016, you have to pick this one up!

More challenging than the first
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't played Doom since the 2016 release, but Doom Eternal made me realize how much I missed playing it. I love the fast paced movement always looking in all directions for enemies, the environment and background levels are amazing, game looks great and definitely more challenging than the first and adds new enemies

good game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.its good :) It's definitely harder than the Doom 2016, and introduces a lot of new mechanics very quickly. It really challenges you to make you get used to the new features and get good at using them. Once you hit that stride, though, the combat is even better than the original. The worldbuilding and design is also thoroughly enjoyable.

Pure fps bliss
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This have makes you feel like a total boss. It's pure fast paced white knuckle thrill ride. The music is also amazing. I feel so cool when I'm testing demons apart with my bare hands and shooting anything that breathes. If your looking for a good story there isn't really much here but I'm in the mood for pure adrenaline this does the trick.

One of the best shooters I've played in years.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't finished the game yet but I'm liking what I've played so far. The graphics are great, the soundtrack is great and I have had no issues with the controls. Can't ask for more than that. It's pure nonstop action and I'd expect nothing less, which is why the DOOM series are my favorite FPS games of all time.

Solid and fun, but...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This followup to 2016’s Doom reboot delivers the same level of polished and visceral gameplay, but chooses to complicate the combat to set itself apart. The game is still a lot of fun, but fights feel less free form, and more like you are trying to fight “the right way,” using specific weapons on specific enemies. The game also dials up the difficulty to enforce this style of gameplay, almost as if it’s as much puzzle as action. I think they go too far, but I still had a lot of fun with it.

Good fun; fast-paced!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sequel to 2016’s Doom. The combat is a flurry of fast paced destruction. It is fairly difficult, even on lower difficulty settings. The player has a plethora of options available to them when fighting the demons. I didn’t like some of the new wall climbing and jumping acrobatics, but they weren’t that bad overall

Another awesome DOOM experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like DOOM from 2016 this sequel is fast paced pure carnage. It adds more platform type elements but it is done in a way that makes it flow with the game. New enemy types are cool. Graphics and size of areas is really awesome. If you are a fan of DOOM even a little this is a no brainer.

This is a Christian game
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a huge improvement from Doom 2016 and it is amazing! Although sort of short like you can beat it in 2 or 3 days but it is fun as heck! There is multiplayer where they put you in the shoes of the DOOM Slayer or you and another player playing as a demon each and kill one another which is also fun.

Tough but Fair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game to pump up the adrenaline. Make sure to keep moving or else you're toast. The story was surprisingly good. There are all sorts of secrets to unlock including cheat codes, which don't disable progression or getting trophies, you just can't do Slayer Gates with cheats enabled.

Fast and furious Doom
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is how Doom should be. Fast and furious. The gameplay makes you keep moving and attack. My only complaint is the difficulty didn’t seem balanced. (Or maybe it’s my gaming skills). Some sections I need to move to easiest setting.

One of the Best of the Generation
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doom Eternal is an amazing sequel to Doom 2016. It builds on the legacy of the franchise by keeping the action fast and brutal, but it makes it a little more strategic by giving you slightly less ammo at first. It balances this by giving you more options like two kinds of grenades and the ability to set enemies on fire for more armor with the trusty chainsaw for more ammo. Each of these systems is integrated perfectly, and the combat is about as good as it gets. The visuals are a huge step up from the last game. Everything is crisp at 60 FPS, and it's a rock solid game technically. The sound and soundtrack by Mick Gordon rocks! The only thing I didn't like was the platforming. It's OK, but the end of the game is a little annoying. It doesn't detract from the overall excellent game, but I'm hoping it's not expanded in the next one. If you love Doom, get this. It's absolutely worthy of the hype.

Dark Souls meets Doom
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fast paced game with aspects of Dark Souls embedded into it, in terms of difficulty. You will constantly be bombarded with enemy spawn which will test your abilities. Even if you turn the difficulty down, you'll still experience defeat. If you're into hardcore FPS games, pick this up. If you're looking for something a little less, I would suggest picking up Doom 2016 instead.

Wow
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just when I though Doom couldn't get anymore crazier along comes Doom Eternal and this game pretty much exceeded my expectations. It delivers more of the action on what made the previous game such a joy to play but this time they have expanded on the story with this one which I think is an interesting idea they decided to explore with this one the level design graphics and monster has been rebooted and there some new monsters to fight on there too and some of them are a little challenging to kill. the only minor gripe I have with this game was the platform jumping parts those moments in the game can be really annoying but there was still plenty of action and fun to be had playing this game. Doom Eternal is without a doubt a contender for one of my top games of 2020
