One of the best looking, fun shooters available! The game consistently throws hordes of enemies at you, and it might seem overwhelming to the player who’ve only played modern shooters. You have a health bar and taking cover is rarely useful. To survive the onslaught, the game forces you to keep moving and shooting. There’s very little to slow down the pacing of the game, not even weapon reloads. Graphically, this is a beautiful game! From the metallic shine of your pistol to the gruesome environments, I constantly found myself stopping to admire the details on screen. Honestly, this the most fun I’ve had with a FPS in a while!

Whether you're a fan of Doom or not, if you enjoy shooters, you'll love this game. I'm about 3/4 through the campaign playing on Ultra-Violence, and the intensity that comes in waves is incredible. I found that some moments so far have impacted me in ways that Bloodborne would after taking down a boss. However, Doom is obviously a much more forgiving game than Bloodborne/DS series, but that feeling of adrenaline is quite familiar. As for accessibility, I've read and agree with that this game masters the 'Checkpoint' system. Even if you only have a quick 30-60 minutes to hop on, go ahead; you should hit at least 2 checkpoints within that timing. Honestly, the game is pretty great all around. MP has definitely caught a lot of flak, but that's not the primary focus here is it? The campaign is excellent, the MP is enjoyable as a secondary play option, and SnapMap seems deep and I will likely dump a lot of time into it once I complete the campaign (which also can be pretty long if you take time for the secrets and play on Medium difficulty at least). One last note, for secrets, make sure to use the map! Overall, definitely 5/5 Stars, highly recommended - do yourself a favor and pick this game up (even at full price) and enjoy one of the best experiences consoles have had to offer in the past 5-10 years. Enjoy!

I played the original DOOM years ago on PC, hadn't played any of the other releases since. Found this game on sale for a good price so took a chance and bought it. Glad I did. High energy, action packed, gory, mindless killing monsters. Love the new graphics. The kills where you grab a monster by the mouth and rip their head in two straight off its body...AWESOME!! It's great to throw this in for some mindless, don't have to think, just kill anything that moves fun.

Now ever since I was a kid, I loved the original two Doom games but never got a chance to play Doom 3. I was scared cause every thing I herd from Doom (2016) seemed to bad publicity (The Doom beta, no review copies sent before launch, the game having to be scrapped for being a CoD ripoff, etc.) Though when I played it was the best game I've played in a long time. A lengthy and a really fun single player campaign, a fun and fast paced multiplayer and a pretty good map maker. Overall, worth every penny of the $60 it costs.

It's a very fast paced and brutal arcade fps with pretty well designed levels with secrets to explore. It gets a bit repetitive towards the end but overall worth a buy.

I wasn't really sure about this game at first. It was a good departure from the action-survival-horror setting of Doom 3, which I felt was pretty darn close to being a first-person version of Dead Space. I could definitely see some of the influences it had on the DS development team. It is worth noting that Dead Space is my favorite game of all time, or at least for now. So, back to this new Doom, when I get it up and going it feels good, looks okay, but something is off - the entire drive of the game seemed to be focused more towards speed and momentum of murder, rather than the atmosphere and scares that wait around the corner. Where Doom 3 had me planning my next move and eagerly waiting for a demon pop out and scare the heavens out of me, this new doom has me stomping mud-holes in butts and stalking down demons like a hound on the hunt. This restructuring of the pacing threw me off, but I stuck with it and odin-almighty am I glad I did. This game is just pure fun, and overly addicting at times. Each level is a descent closer to hades and the further you get, the more mud-holes you'll be stomping - that's assuming you have the grit and strategy it takes to keep going. The game really doesn't like it when you are just standing around in battle and you will die for it. Fortunately, the levels provide you with some pretty good battle grounds, allowing you to move around and keep the kills rolling in without much issue (provided you have your game on.) I highly recommend this to fans of the old and new - this game is just pure fun.

I'm not a huge fan of FPS games at all, but Doom is the exception. I think the only FPS that I would consider to be better would be the sequel Doom Eternal. The Case also came in great condition.

If you've ever played any of the DOOM games you really owe it to yourself to purchase this game. If you've slightly entertained the idea of purchasing this game, but haven't played any of the DOOM games before, you owe it to yourself to purchase this game! I went in thinking it'd be a fun FPS romp with loads of blood and guts and my expectations were totally blown away. The campaign is very rewarding. Took me a couple weeks, with a few casual-moderate gaming sessions to 100% Platinum the game, and now I can start on the game's SnapMap feature which allows players to create levels to share and swap with other players online - there is a lot of variety here. It's pretty deep in terms of options to create and may even teach you a thing or two about what goes into game development (without all of the tedious coding). Put it this way. The game is so good that I actually bought the Limited Edition after buying the standard edition and I would up keeping both just because I liked the reversible sleeve on the standard edition.

The gameplay is extremely fast and the guns are varied and satisfying to use. Like the old school Doom games there's no regenerating health, only health kits, armor pieces, ammo drops and hidden collectibles. The game wants you to keep moving as fast as possible otherwise you'll get destroyed in seconds. However, every time you weaken an enemy you can melee it to regain health and when you run out of ammo you can use your chainsaw to instant kill a foe resulting in a shower of ammo drops. It's genius game design that encourages you to keep running, jumping and shooting and only punishes you when you stop. There's plenty of opposition to keep you satisfied as well. A new enemy type's introductory miniboss section in one level will have you fight a handful of them simultaneously in the next. The game is as brutal and fun as any game I've played. Buy it! Also, I didn't even touch the multiplayer, it's not my thing but it might be yours. The solo campaign is good enough on its own.

Product Quality: Product was well packaged. It was neither broken nor damaged. Even though it was pre-owned, the disc was in excellent condition. No technical issues were identified during the installation on my PS4. Game (Graphics, Sound and Story): Graphics and sound are spectacular. If you have a TV with 1080p (or higher) with your HDMI connection, you will get the full detail of the graphics. For sound, I do recommend playing this game with a good gaming headset. Home theater system will provide good sound quality, but a good gaming headset has more detail in the sounds (specifically background sounds). The story (campaign) is good and multiplayer mode is insanely fast pace and it will keep you very aware of your surroundings. For those of us that played the first version in 199x on a PC, this will definitely bring you back memories, however, now they are more intense and phenomenal…. I do recommend this game!!!!!

When I bought "Wolfenstein: The New Order" I was not sure of what I got myself into. All that time, I just passed the game itself & thought I had bought "The Order 1886". The moment I realized it wasn't that game, I was in awe & realized it was different one published by Bethesda. Regardless, I loved the reboot for the old Wolfenstein so when I heard "Doom" was also getting rebooted, I bought it without questioning it. Honestly, I was not disappointed. The campaign is roughly 13 hours long, even longer depending how much you explore on each mission. The story itself is kinda vague, but I think the gameplay makes up for it with all the different arrays of weapons & if you're playing on the 3rd hardest difficulty, well you're in for a challenge. Give it a whirl, it'll be fun (and frustrating, if you die a lot cause them loading screens take long) plus it looks beautiful seeing all the gore up close & personal!

Finally a Doom game worth playing again and again. If you grew up playing the adware versions of Doom and grew to love the gore and action that it brought then you will love this version of Doom. Not only is the game upgraded to today's standards but they also included original levels in all of their glory, hidden secrets within each story level and fun to play once opened. At times it can become repetitive but the game itself is worth owning and playing over and over again.

As a slightly older gamer, I approached the 'new' DOOM with all the nostalgia befitting a high school reunion. I grew up with the classic shooters, and all the DOOM-clones of that era. Short of the long, I had high expectations. Rest assured, this game certainly lives up to the pedigree. While it does carry the hallmarks of a contemporary title, there are so many nods to "old-school" game design that I couldn't help but have a smile on my face the whole time I was playing. Of course, that was also helped by the sublime way in which this game handles and presents itself. Its an absolute blast to play through. If you were a fan of the originals, or find yourself partial to the first person shooter genre...do yourself a favor and take this game for a spin. You won't regret it!

The newest Doom game is a breath of fresh air in the first person shooter genre. As a fan of the original 1995 Doom game, this is pretty much the same thing but with far better graphics and sound, and added customization. The glory kills are extremely satisfying to watch, as well as equipping the chainsaw and cutting through demon flesh like butter. I highly recommend this game, the campaign is very well done and the SnapMap feature lets you create custom maps and levels that you can also share with the Doom community. I personally wasn't a fan of the multiplayer, perhaps it simply wasn't my style, it mimicked Quake and Unreal Tournament. Overall, a hilarious demon slaying experience of a game.
