Better except for the most important thing.

Everything is better than Doom eternal in the game except for the gameplay. Story is cooler, maps are cooler and the demons are cooler but the gameplay is worse. The mobility is way worse, jump height and air speed are worse and the weapons are what you,d expect. We play games for gameplay and the gameplay is worse than eternal. No contest.

I see a lot of people leaving 1 star reviews that really don't pertain to this game at all, but rather the state of the industry as a whole. Yes, modern video games require a download. They have for almost 20 years by now. Bottom line, if you love DOOM, here is some new DOOM for you. Personally, its been one of my favorite franchises for over 30 years and is still going strong. Ignore the haters.

Right off the bat you realize that the game isn't even on the disc, so it's not really a physical copy. It's just a physical key. At least I can still sell it to someone when I'm done.
The game itself actually feels like a significant downgrade from the previous too. It just seems really dumbed down to me. I'm about halfway through and I've gotten the impression that they didn't want to put effort into it, like there's no passion or love put into it.
It's good enough that I'll finish it but, ultimately, it's pretty disappointing.

85MB on disk is a joke and you have to download the rest of the game. Not sure why companies continue to make physical disks when they don’t put the entire game on said disk. The game itself is good though at least.

3 hours to install, ridiculous that all the disk is is a installer application. Chapter two never installed, the game is useless. Bethesda is the worst software company.
