For so long this film was out of print and now you will have no excuse not to see it. In one of the greatest cinematic performances of all time, the late Bruno Ganz, channels the pure psychosis of one of the most evil humans to walk the earth and becomes Adolph Hitler in his final days. With outstanding writing, cinematography and a remarkable supporting cast, Downfall is an instant classic.

I am a fanatic when it comes to the history of WWII. I rate the film as one of the best on the history of WWII, equal in impact to “Saving Private Ryan”. There is very little action relative to actual fighting of the war, but the acting and dialogue is excellent. Bruno Ganz as Adolf Hitler is excellent at portraying the effect that Hitler had on Germany, even in his last hours. I have never seen any actor play Hitler more accurately, and the movie is worth seeing just for Ganz' performance. The movie reveals what the leaders of Germany went thru living with Hitler in his Berlin bunker as the Russian army closed in during the final days. It brought tears to my eyes when you see parents killing their children before committing suicide to avoid capture. Contributing to the authenticity of the movie, most of the dialect is in German with subtitles printed across the bottom of the screen. I am not a fast reader so I had to paus the film many times in order to read all the subtitles. This was the only drawback to the film. Otherwise the authenticity of the scenes and destruction in Berlin, and the futility of what the German people suffered because of Hitler’s fanaticism in the end will get to you by the end of this movie. If you are into the history of WWII this is a must see film. I recommend it.

I really liked this movie. If you have been wondering about this, I recommend it. I'm a WW2 buff and this was a vivid recount of the fall of the Third Reich

This movie was incredible! I took a gamble, and bought this Blu-ray without even seeing the film first. Something I never normally do. After watching the movie however, I was not disappointed with my purchase at all! A very good film, that in my opinion, is a must see to anyone who loves WWII movies. Glad to have it in my collection.

What an interesting film crafted by Hirschbiegel; I cannot recall a film that has dramatized the last days of Hitler with more accuracy and carefulness as this film. Not only is it an interesting view on Hitler's diminishing health and sanity, it is also a great war film. The film gives Hitler another dimension and sets him at a level that is actually human. You see him at his strongest; you see him at his weakest. I recommend watching this film if WWII events interest you, or merely to get some insight as to Hitler's final days.

I think that "Downfall" was one of the greatest historical films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite historical films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "Downfall" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including an exciting and amazing historical/personal storyline.

Downfall, starring Bruno Ganz as Adolf Hitler, is excellent at portraying the effect that Hitler had on Germany, even in his last hours. I have never seen any actor play Hitler more accurately, and the movie is worth seeing just for Ganz' performance. The rest of the movie is boring at times, or depending on how you look at it, extremely interesting considering that 95% of the film is set in an underground bunker. Hitler's downfall is recreated masterfully in this depiction of one of history's most complicated and infamous villains.

One of the best movies I've seen about WWII. The actor playing Hitler is down right scary. German with subtitles so be prepared.

Best kept secret of cinema. Really feel as if you are in the bunker living out the final moments of national socialism.
