Draft Day is a sports drama film starring Kevin Costner. The premise revolves around the fictional general manager of the Cleveland Browns deciding what to do after his team acquires the number one draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft. It gives what appears to be a realistic look into what happens on draft day. Good movie.

I love shopping Best Buy's bargain bin deals on movies. When I saw that this movie was on sale WITH a digital copy, I jumped all over it. Great sports drama with subtle humor & a surprisingly human tale to tell. Good movie. Costner always does sports films justice.

This was filmed at Cleveland Browns training facility in Berea. Tom Welling, Jennifer Garner and Kevin Costner did a good job in this film. Go Browns!

Nice story with a lot of 'real name' folks in it. We had it back in the day, lost it and just had to get it again to scratch that itch.

I really loved this movie as I do not believe you can go wrong with pretty much anything that Kevin Costner does. If you add the rest of the cast (Jennifer Garner, Dennis Leary, the late great Chadwick Boseman and more) and you have a heck-of-a-movie.
If you not familiar with the movie, Kevin Costner is the general manager of an NFL team and has to build his team on draft day. The interaction between the coach, the owner and other members of the coaches makes a great movie.

This movie has to be rated as one of the best sports movies ever. When I first heard they were doing a movie on the NFL Draft I was skeptical, I thought it was going to be some boring movie about a guy preparing for and then getting drafted what I didn't expect was there to be humor, drama, and a great story.
The movie follows the General Manager of the Cleveland Browns getting ready for draft day after he trades or the first pick in the draft. Some on his staff feel he paid too much, his owner wants the star QB prospect, but Sonny isn't sold as of yet. You get drama and humor throughout. This movie is a must see for all football fans and even those who aren't.

A Decent Football Movie

For the most part Draft Day is a decent football related movie. What the movie might lack in story it makes up for in acting by having a pretty decent cast. Really about the only issue I had with the movie was the ending, it was on the unrealistic side as was the initial trade deal but overall its a movie I'll watch again when I'm in the mood for some football during the off season (unless I go with Invincible instead). For me it was a good popcorn movie which is a movie that you can look past a few of the issues it might have and just enjoy it while sitting and enjoying some fresh popcorn and a cold beverage.

I am not a fan of team sports, but good books or movies about them can be sublime. And this is a very good movie about football. Cosner plays a fictitious manager of a (not so fictitious) struggling Cleveland Browns. He plays the game of liar's poker behind The Game of football that makes it all possible. Well scripted, well acted and finely paced, I find this movie more satisfying than any football game I have managed to sit through in years. And the back stories and side stories are icing on a rich cake.

This movie is a mix of interpersonal relations normally behind closed doors of a major football team and the wheelings and dealings that Team presidents go through during the annual Draft day. Costner plays a believable Team president who is dealing with major ego's and untested rookies who tries his best to make his team better through the draft. There are times you will say, I know where this is going and you'll be wrong at least once or perhaps twice. A thoroughly entertaining movie that I am happy to add to my collection.
