I have to say, I went into this thinking it would be an okay game at best (I bought as part of a pack/sale, so it was pretty cheap), and I have to say that I'm delighted at how good it was. In fact, it's one of the best games I've played in a long time. First, the game is expansive. I put an easy 100 hrs into it and that was just with one playthrough. Second, the game's combat is somewhat on the slow side, which is an advantage because it allows you to play in one of two ways: Either you can stick to real-time or use the tactics function, or a combination. In essence, the game is as difficult as you want it to be; the higher up you go in difficulty, the more you'll have to relay on the tactics function. Third, the story and characters are great. Much like the missions you can pursue, the dialogue options are extensive and there are plenty of people to talk to and things to read, if you're into submersing yourself in the game's lore. Other than that, crafting was meh, but I did like the equipment. I've also seen a lot of people say the graphics weren't great. Maybe I'm just old, but I thought they were fine, more than good enough that they don't detract from the experience, I don't think. The only negative thing I will say about the game is the platforming. For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to have platforming parts, but considering this is not a game designed for platforming, the result is clunky and glitchy, at best. Fortunately, those parts are few and far between. But, everything else is so good that I didn't mind it. I even loved the music! Definitely worth the buy.

I am at least 80 hours in and maybe 2/3 of the way through the game, but it feels like it will go on forever! Like reading a great novel, you'll actually feel invested in the success or failure of the player-characters. At various points through the game you'll have to make choices, some easy such as who to have a romance with, others difficult like choosing who, of two good people, must sacrifice his/her life for the greater good. The side quests/missions in DAI are not just filler. You'll have to complete most, if not all, of them in order to advance. Combat is easy at first (push one button), but has a lot of depth. You can assign abilities to any of eight buttons, switch control to any character within your party, or set rules for each character to follow during a conflict. Learning the system will take time, but is well worth it.

I played the previous Dragon Age titles but was not convinced as I quickly found myself restrained by the open world limitations. Clearly on this one, BioWare was able to get to a much better experience, you are free to go pretty much anywhere you want and will not find yourself looking for things to do, there are plenty ! The story is great and engaging, the characters are colorful and the lore is very detailed, should you decide to explore everything and read all the clues / scrolls that are available to you. Potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay, great value for the money

Dragon Quest Inquisition is an amazing game. Great story, with fun characters you can recruit with their own issues and quests you can help them with, and many OPTIONAL goals and side quests. The reason I capitalize "OPTIONAL" is people tend to get burnt out by this game and all the content it provides. The biggest culprit being the early Hinterlands quests. I also felt like the game was dragging and I was stuck in one place too long, when it finally dawned on me to simply continue with the main quest and only tackle side stuff if I wanted to for the most part. You will need to complete some side quests to continue with the main quests, but the quests are varied and not just fetch quests, collect-a-thons, or kill x amount of this animal. Completing quests with actual story elements should be enough move you on in the main story, and can also net you many new recruits (some you can control directly, some you can send out on missions for resources, treasure, and access to new areas for you to explore). You don't really want to complete all of the optional quests anyways, because you'll soon find yourself much over-leveled and overpowered that way. Bioware are rpg legends who make great games. Dragon Quest Inquisition won't disappoint as long as you don't let yourself get pulled into that completionist mentality. Stick to the fun story-based optional quests, and just play the game. Trying to complete every quest would eventually feel like work. Games are meant to be fun.

This game has it all. Fun combat, great story with humor and intrigue, Jaw dropping graphics and sound. And you would have a tough time finding a better dollar-per-hour entertainment value, you can pour a hundred hours of time in this game and still have a ton left to do. Recommended for everyone with a love of great games, but especially those on a budget who need to get the most out of their investment

Holy moly, this game has a huge story line with tons of side quests. I haven't played an RPG this long since Skyrim. The graphics and good and controls work well. The bonus is the co-op. It's on the repetitive side, but loads of fun!

I read a bunch of reviews before purchasing this game. The game like Skyrim allows you to build up your character profile and add new abilities with experience, however unlike Skyrim, you also build up and specify your team's abilities with experience! The combat /tactical mode for freezing fighting to give you a chance to control each person's attack abilities is great! If you liked Skyrim, you'll love DA: Inquisition. More of what you already loved, including smithing and potion crafting, buy and selling, exploration, and of course fighting new, and different enemies with a great storyline to boot, including options for directing the main story, and picking a lover!

I don't feel like many games are truly worth their price but this one is. This is engaging and fun for 80+ hours. I did not play any of the other Dragons Age titles so I was worried that I would be lost. Not the case at all. It amazes me how large this game is with the open worlds. Nothing feels like a grind and there is always fresh scenery and areas to explore. Enjoy.

This game is fantastic. I spent over 160 hours on a single play-through. I'd highly recommend this game. There are so many maps to explore, a lot of character classes, side-quests, dialogue choices, and weapons to warrant more than one play-through. The game looks amazing on PS4 and really should be experienced. There's a lot of attention to detail put in to this game and it shows in so many ways. I haven't played multiplayer, so I can't comment on that, but it's nice that it's there for people who want to experience that.

DA Inquisition is amazing! Open-world (after zoning into a particular area), great story & cast of characters, and lots of customization. The combat is a good mixture of real-time, while also giving you the option to pause via the tactical camera to give orders, and use strategy let's say. Very useful, and much needed on harder difficulties. Overall, I would highly recommend this game. If you're a fan of previous Dragon Age games or Mass Effect, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Think of the game as a Skyrim-light, while rather grand in scope it follows a bit more linear path. Whereas Skyrim has an open world, Inquisition features hubs with self contained areas. They are quite large, but it can not be compared to the scale of Skyrim. It features the typical RPG flavorings such as a plethora of side quests, weapons, armor, skills, etc. All in all, I would say it reminds me a lot of Kingdom of Amular: Reckoneing, which was a game that I really enjoyed.

Bought game on deal of the day. Best purchase I've made. Been playing the game for over 100 hours. Not much on RPG in the past but can't put this game down. Great story and choices effect the game play a bit. Graphics are great. Fight dragons or romantic your companions so many choices to make in the game. Can't wait to finish and start again just to play out some of the different options. I hear that choosing female mage allows for more options later in the game.

Wonderful graphics, well rounded, realistic characters. Gameplay is a bit basic on the regular difficultly but stays constantly fun. Unfortunately there is a lot of padding with unnecessary or just boring fetch quests. Story is solid but nothing unique. A great evil wants to destroy the world and you have to stop him - typical power fantasy stuff. It's the characters that make the game special. Will take over 50 hours to complete, much more if you finish all quests.

This game was a big question mark for me cause of the last game. The good news is that all the time they spent on improving this game has been well worth the wait. Everything is vastly improved upon especially the combat. The combat was one of my biggest complaints from the second game. It is more fluid and smooth, just all around fun now. The story is a big improvement also, it's easy to follow and pretty interesting.

I was skeptical about the game as I had some friends that werent as happy as they thought they would be, but I really liked this game. The open world RPG is one of the better ones to come out in a few years. The graphics are pretty good and the story line keeps your interest through out the game. Different weapons and styles as well as the leveling up process are smooth. Very happy with this game!!!
