A Minecraft clone of sorts but enjoy it more than that because it has more of a story and RPG aspects.

Plays like a mixture of minecraft and the game "Dark Cloud 2" from the ps2 era.
Highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this game was. I was a big JRPG fan coming in, but had never really gotten too into minecraft so I had some reservations going in, but fortunately it turns out this game is much more geared to RPG players than sandbox game players. The story, though simple, is compelling and motivates creative ways to build the necessary rooms needed.

I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan and cannot wait for the eleventh game to come to America. In the meantime we get DQB for the Switch, an awesome game that released for PS42 years ago. The Switch version comes with tons of bonus content. This game doesn't play like a reskinned Minecraft, it's more like an action RPG with Minecraft elements, especially as you start to progress through the game and meet tougher enemies. This makes it an awesome game for anyone who likes Minecraft, Dragon Quest, easy pick up and play Switch games, or just for someone who wants to try something new.

This is the perfect on the go game. One of my favorites to say the least. You build things like Minecraft but with high quality graphics. You goal is to rebuild towns and protect them from monsters. There are plenty of side quests and even a sandbox type level that opens up for free build if you like. I really enjoy the whole concept of this game.

Love this game! I was hooked after playing the demo version. Build your city, complete quests from your townspeople, fight monsters, learn how to make more things as you go, and ultimately defeat the Dragon Lord! Good pacing, pretty graphics. You can spend hours decorating your town and bolstering your defenses, or completing quests to advance the story.

If you are like me, you can see the enjoyment of crafting in Minecraft, but don't have the time to think of something then build it, then this game is for you. All the fun of crafting, but more focused and directed. Also, if you like the Dragon Quest (or Dragon Warrior if you prefer) aesthetic, then there's a bonus in there for you!

I'm not really a fan of Minecraft so I was kind of hesitant about this game, but I decided to give the demo a try. After a couple of minutes with the demo I knew I had to get it, if you're on the fence give the demo a try. It is not really like Minecraft, here building has a purpose and you have actual goals. Easily one of my top 5 games for the switch.

If you have always wanted to try Minecraft, but need some kind of story or purpose to build things, this game is for you. It perfectly marriages Minecraft's building gameplay with traditional Dragon Quest RPG mechanics to create a wonderful experience that allows players to focus on what they want to build.

I never played this game on the ps4, but always wanted it. I finally decided to pick it up when it came out on the Nintendo Switch and I am glad that I did. This game is nothing like a Minecraft clone (which is what I thought at first) and so glad that it isn't. This was an awesome game and I plan on playing it again.

You don't have to know anything about the Dragon Quest series to enjoy this game. It's a fun story driven game with the same building mechanics as Minecraft, just in a nicer looking package. Between the four chapters and the free build mode, you're looking at lots of content.

This is one of those games that sort of relies on the player as to how much fun you can have.
There's a story, sure, but there's also the ability to explore, fight, dig, discover and build.
Do yourself a favor and make sure you look around - look everywhere! - before finishing the chapters. It will both make the game last longer and also add to the enjoyment.
Adventure awaits!

You might think this is a simple Minecraft with a different franchise. Not a bad way to start describing Dragon Quest Builders though as there still is the familiar utilize blocks to manipulate the landscape. DQB has more focus on defense missions and narratives via npcs which do interact with your supplies to build their own things. Games feels very retro thanks to its wonderful and charming soundtrack.

It is a very entertaining game of construction and adventure. I bought it for my 13-year-old son to play it in his Nintendo Switch. The game is very useful to develop their abstraction capacity. My son 17 also liked it a lot and spent hours playing it.

This game reminded me of a story driven minecraft when I first got it but its definitely more than that. You'll get 60 hours of game play out of this and even more if you free build. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes RPG style building/fighting games.

Well I will admit playing it took some learning curve for the first time unless you played minecraft. After which then you get the art of what to do but beginners would be best to trail and errors to get the learning curve.
