I have never played Dragon Quest before and I know this is more of a side game but I had a lot of fun with it. The design and look of the game is amazing done the music is solid and the game play is just right. If you like minecraft you will have some enjoyment with it. There is some repetition so some people might not like that.

I am new to the Dragon Quest series. I had an itch to play something that I could pick up and play on the go with my Switch and this little game did the job. Its easy to play, alot of content, fun to build things (not nearly as detailed as Minecraft though.) Only thing missing us multiplayer but they are adding that to the sequel!

This is a great spinoff of the dungeon quest series. If you love minecraft and dragon quest, this game is perfect for you. It has a great story that requires you to become a master builder. I cant wait for the sequel.

Very good graphics, the story very good. You must get the giant hammer, you are looking for adventure mode in the islands. That hammer is very useful to achieve construction material. Highly recommended the game.

Excellent game to play on and off. Even with a story involved, it feels fairly relaxing to just explore and expand your home/territory for each chapter. The controls can be a bit odd at a times, and I wish there were more materials to build or work with, but overall it's a very enjoyable game.

I'm generally not a fan of the minecraft style of gaming, but I haven't been able to put this one down. The building is simple and fun to do plus the story adds some extra depth to the game. Lots of fun.

Explore, Invite people to live in your town, Build your town in your vision. Builders has a simple but fun story and will provide hours of fun for people who like to build/create their own world.

Quirky and cute mine craft clone. Yes fun to build a town then protect it from baddies. My problems were levels and continuity. You didn’t really progress your characters assets, just health and gear. And every chapter you basically start over. I like to grind levels so after chapter 1 I lost interest.

I love this game, but I didn't think I would when I first got it. I'm not a huge fan of minecraft, but this game just takes you in and doesn't let go. Amazing title on the go for the switch.

Dragon Quest Builders is a neat little game with lots of stuff to craft and rearrange and what not. If you're looking for something more actiony or stressful, that's not here. What is here is a comfy building game to play before bed or on a lazy day. It does that well.

DQ Builders is a Minecraft style game with action rpg elements added to it. Also, it features better graphics than Minecraft. The music is also catchy and enjoyable.

For those who didn't enjoy Minecraft because it lacked a good story, Dragon Quest Builders could be the answer for you. Help villagers rebuild your town, explore and find new materials for crafting, and build your own work. This game surprised me with how fun it is.

If you liked Minecraft you'll love this.
It's more story/quest driven and things stay fresh longer.
It is a bit simplistic but that didn't hamper the fun.

The art style is colorful and engaging, and the gameplay is suitable for young and old, alike. Building mechanics are similar to Minecraft, but in a more controlled environment - helps to keep the younger ones from getting overwhelmed, but still provides countless design options for the older crowd. Adventuring and combat are similarly simple, yet with complexities that keep you engaged. Overall, this is exactly what I wished for Minecraft to be, but someone else as taken the ball and ran with it. Highly recommended!

Still is a great game for those he want to relax while playing without it being to challenging. I really appreciate it because you can build things but you don't have to be super creative and you have quest to complete. This game is great for everyone. I have played the original dragon quest series and this is a great addition! Also you can try the demo for the game that is just like the beginning of the game, warning whatever you accomplish in the game you can't take with you once you buy the original version.

Dragon Age Builders does a great job of taking the Minecraft style block-building and applying a bit more of a story line to it. Having each "world" reset your town is neat, and happens infrequently enough that you're not left thinking you wasted all that time. The fact that this is a tower defense style game too really brings it up a notch in my book, but it can be a bit too easy at times. It plays really well on the switch and can easily suck you in for a few hours at a time.
My only complaint is the price vs. what you get: I'd have liked this for $20 or $25. After all, the comparison is usually Minecraft and this has far less gameplay time than Minecraft.
