I bought one of these while they where on sale, took it home, it wouldn't charge. Returned it and got another, it wouldn't charge either. Gave up after that and bought a Hero 3.

    Handy pocket-sized camcorder

I like this camera so far. No major gripes for this little camcorder. It produces vivid, colorful video and stills. Only 5 MP, but I still get decent looking vids and stills. I only paid $119 for it when on special, so I feel it was a good deal for the overall quality. This is a TINY camcorder - literally the size of an adult's closed fist. A full battery charge gives me 2.5 hours of battery life while recording non-stop video. It comes with a USB charger and that works well. Through my own experimentation, I found that I could use my Sprint cell phone charger to charge my Drift 720 battery as well. It takes about 1.5 hours or so to fully charge the Drift battery. The camera has a very sturdy, rubberized outer housing and it gives the camera a very sturdy feel. THE LENS CAN BE ROTATED MANUALLY WITH A PINCH OF YOUR THUMB AND INDEX FINGER- NO NEED TO UNSCREW ANYTHING. Word of caution: if you do decide to rotate the lens, make sure that your recorded image is being recorded upright. if you rotate the lens, be sure to reposition your camera to make sure your image is coming out upright. If you rotate the lens, take a sample photo to make sure your image is coming out upright. you dont want to spend 2 hours recording only to discover your video was recorded sideways.

This is a great camera/video for the $99 price with a free 8gb card and free shipping it was a steal...(DEAL OF THE DAY) Been using it for several days..this is a great little unit..it takes great videos and good photos..I bought it for videos only..A concern I had is that it has very little directions in the box so.. I decided to go on line..I found a great set of instructions..(PDF)....I spent about 20 minutes to go through this website booklet..I was impressed what this unit can do..and I learned a lot about the camera..NOTE...These website directions are for the Drift HD170.....it has the same camera body and layout as the HD720..check it out...the website address is below...you will be at ease using your new HD720..it's the best little thing I've bought is sometime..THANKS YOU DRIFT !!..THANK YOU BEST BUY FOR THE GET PRICE..!!! http://driftinnovation.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/HD170-Manual.pdf

    Geat action camera

I bought my camera and got it home and sure enough I had the same issue that one other person had that I could not get the camera to turn on. The only time it turned on was when it was plugged into the USB port of the computer. I took it right back to the store and we figured out that it was a bad battery. I swapped out the camera for one with a good battery that we checked before I left the store and have no problems with it. So if you get a camera that won't turn on, it's probably the battery.

for the price, who cannot afford to throw a few of these action cams into your bag of tricks. Being able to easily set up and capture additional and unique angles, happens with the LCD and rotatable lens. RF remote also clutch for multiple cams synched together.

I purchased the Drift camera for four wheeling and other outdoor activities. I was surprised at how easy this camera was to setup. I love that it has a viewing screen built in, which helps to line up the shot or review what I have recorded already. A few of my buddies have another popular action camera that they spent a lot more money on and they don’t have near the features my Drift camera has. This camera is great; you are able to review everything on the spot. I also love the wireless remote control that comes with the camera, it makes recording a lot easier. This camera is very durable and it has a great slim design. I would highly recommend the Drift HD720 to everyone.

This is best POV camera for the money period!

This camera has all the necessary feature included. Not like other competing camera. It also the only POV camera with a quick release mount, this lets secure your camera, and then quickly remount it in perfect alignment. The Drift 720HD is perfect to post videos on YouTube, Facebook etc..... Any videos above 720HD will stall out on older computers and 3G phones. Its out of the box weather proof design is perfect for all season motorcycling and kayaking. I have a hundred plus videos posted on the Delaware river kayaking and motorcycle roads, all have excellent video rendering. This camera and the other POV have their limitations. High contrast and low light videos are just ok. These camera always record the best videos in bright, low contrast scenes, the beach, ski slope, the ocean, desert, in the sky. Finally, once you get use to the capabilities of the HD720, this camera will reliability and consistently get the job done. Also it is a good idea to get some video editing software, I use Sony movie studio HD

Great camera for all types of weather. I had trouble in low-light areas. Get a warranty. I do reviews on headphones and my iPod Touch 5th Generation gave me better quality.

Potentially a great product but very poor QC

My experience with Drift has been solely through their customer service department which, fortunately, has been very competent. Their quality control, however, is severely lacking. I received three DOA (dead on arrival) batteries; first in the original packaging, next in the replacement product from Best Buy and finally through the Drift service department. After peaking with several other retailers, mostly smaller camera shops, I found that the problem was so severe that the stores were opening the cameras to test the batteries before shipping the units to customers. If I receive a functioning battery, I will update this review.

I bought this action camera thinking I would get many great uses for it. It would not charge at all tried several times. I checked the battery with a volt meter and no charge was indicated on the battery. So if you are thinking of buying this camcorder beware of the battery. Best Buy at the time I bought this camera did not sell a replacement battery at the store. Not only did I have this problem, but my brother also had the same problem and returned the camera.
