I will admit, this album took some time to grow on me. Being a huge fan of Muse's older material, I have learned to keep an open mind as the sound progressed over the last few years. Initially, I couldn't get into "Dead Inside," one of the first singles to be released for the album. Same goes with "Psycho," which really took everything I had not to change the station when it would come on the radio. Nevertheless, I bought the album. Frankly, I love it. And not necessarily because of the music itself (which is very well done), but because the album as a whole flows as one giant story being told from the viewpoint of someone who is coping with begrudgingly becoming a "servant" to the government. It flows together nicely, and quite a few of the songs have nods to the older sounds that made me fall in love with this band in the first place. While I am trying to avoid sounding like a biased fan, I would encourage anyone and everyone to give this a listen '.

Okay I was particularly excited for this release. I love MUSE. and I love Mutt Lange. I was so excited to hear that Mutt was going to be supporting these guys and sitting in the producer's chair on this record. I was not let down in the slightest! We still have MUSE here, with a slight Mutt Lange touch of heaviness and huge guitars! Psycho has Mutt all over it. When I first heard the single tho I was a little disappointed because the electronics of MUSE didn't seem to be present. NO WORRIES. The rest of the cd is full of it. Brilliant concept to the album too. I would pull out the sleeve and read the lyrics as you listen to it. Brilliant story. Not a happy ending ;)

I really like this album. Some may say that the style of music differs too much, but if you know Muse that is to be expected. I love their music. I need a theme in any music I listen to so the first thing I do is listen to the song with the lyrics before me to make sure I understand what the song is about. Agree or disagree with the message they are trying to send I enjoy the fact that this groups makes strong statements.

This album was gave me a new feeling. All the songs sounded somewhat similar to me, but each song is also very unique. I'd say, altogether that this album was unique. As a fan of muse, I'd buy it. And as someone who has only heard like one of their songs, I'd still buy it. I love the album, personally, so I believe anyone with an ear for things that are unique will too.

Love Muse. They always put their creative thinking caps on before a new album. This has influences from U2 and Queen, plus other groups I can't quite thing of off the top of my head. Overall, a stellar album as usual. Standouts include Reapers and The Handler, while The Globalist is their new homage to Knights of Cydonia.

I'm a big fan of this band, and this album is another great example of why. They know how to rock, how to innovate, and how to write about real issues and speak frankly about the world we live in. This album is phenomenal and is great for both the avid fan, and the new listener. Long live Muse!!

Muse is huge now. I love everything they've ever released. This was supposed to be their "hardest" album ever. It's typical Muse, not harder than other albums. It's the only reason why I took off a star. If you like Muse you won't be disappointed.

I'm a fairly big muse fan and overall pretty happy with their latest effort. Overall I'd say a few of their past CD's have had elements that I personally prefer but I like Muses' overall sound and for that reason I'd say if you are a fan you will like this new CD.

The new album for Muse starts off with several great tracks but feels a bit repetitive in the middle of the album to the end. There are some catching riffs and melodies throughout. A solid effort if you enjoy the band.

After their past two albums began to dwindle into a parody of themselves, Muse has returned with an album at least partially worthy of their name. Though there are some disappointing tracks here (Psycho and especially Revolt), for the large part the album is a success. It does seem the band has run short of creativity, as many songs are retreads of some of their finest songs yet they also lack the hooks that made those songs classics. Still, average Muse is better than the mediocrity of The 2nd Law, so if you consider yourself a fan you can rest assured this album is worth a purchase.

Like most Muse albums, there is a theme of political resistance throughout the album (military). There is variation in the tunes while still maintaining the Muse sound. I particularly like the song "Psycho"

I like many probably bought the album because of "Psycho" I guess I expected the rest of the album to sound just like this song. It's a good album though and should be checked out. Just not all for me.

while a couple songs are bogged down by unnecessary repetitiveness, there are several tracks that blew me away. The album has a lyrical arc that also is an interesting social/political commentary...

Muse is back with a new release and the album is fairly solid from beginning to end. A definite departure from their earlier work, but more in line with their newer releases.

I didn't love it the first time around, but it really grew on me the second time around. The second track is not necessary because it's only 22 seconds and the words are used again on Psycho.

Was not a huge fan of the direction Muse took after Black Holes and this was a step in the right direction. The Handler is one of Muse's best tracks too!

Not as great as their last few albums, but still pretty good. Less of the orchestral/spacey/dubstep-y stuff from Resistance and 2nd Law. Quality jams, though.

Muse continues to evolve. This CD starts hard and continues with the melodies you expect. They keep the Queen guitar sound and harmonies you want from Muse.
