Dunkirk is divided into 3 sections: the fight in the air pitting British Royal Air Force fighters against enemy planes, the survival of British soldiers on the shore of Dunkirk in France, and the rescue of the soldiers by British private citizens using day to day pleasure boats who have to cross the English Channel and face the potential of being struck by torpedoes or enemy planes. On the surface this may sound like the movie would take 3 hours but Christopher Nolan, as if assembling a fine tuned clock, weaves through the 3 stories in less than 2 hours and literally keeps you on edge of your seat. For the duration of the film you feel like you are on the beach with the soldiers, in the cockpit of a fighter plane, and on a pleasure boat called the Moonstone on it's way to Dunkirk. This is movie is really unlike any other war movie I have seen or any war movie in recent history because it's less about actual combat and more about an historical rescue operation where literally every hour counts before almost 300 Thousand allied soldiers face certain death. Visuals and audio on the Blu Ray are first class but the 4K benefits from HDR for richer colors. The 5.1 lossless mix is the same and totally immersive. If you are a Nolan fan, war history buff, or enjoy well made, thrilling films based on true stories I highly, highly recommend Dunkirk.

Great transfer to showcase the IMAX captured film. One of the best looking native 4k transfers

Dunkirk is a major bockbuster that has a documentary feel. Its told from 3 different time perspectives. Nolan does it again with anoter brilliant movie. And zimmers soundtravk is anxiety inducing and makes u feel the gravity of the moment.

I really enjoyed this movie personally, but I can understand that it may not be for everyone. The movie is a bit slow and can be very unsettling, but it does an amazing job of making you feel what it must have been like in some small way.

A really great movie. Authentic costumes and action. I didn't know about this as once the British left it was five years until D day. Hitler ruled France for five yeas. I felt along with the soldiers anguish and desperiation.

Christopher Nolan did a a great job blending several stories all happening over the course of a few days. My son is a WWII historian and loved this movie. Originally wanted to rent it but when I saw it for this price it just made sense to buy. Happy to own and watch again

Wife and I both enjoyed this movie very much, surprising since she very seldom stays awake through a war movie. She certainly did this one. This blue ray has incredible picture and sound throughout the whole movie.

This movie went beyond my expectations. There is very little dialogue but the tension just builds throughout the movie that you don't even notice it. They grab your attention right at the start and keep it right until the end.

Christopher Nolan is an absolute master of his craft and in Dunkirk he reigns supreme. Beautiful and unique visuals and tremendous storytelling, with the twists and turns you've come to expect from Nolan films.

Dunkirk is such an amazing film to watch in 4K. The landscapes really shine here and you owe it to yourself to watch the best version of this movie on the market, and that's most definitely the 4K version!

Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors and this movie does not disappoint! I always recommend buying movies from Best Buy because I'm always able to find my favorites on blu-ray for a really great cost!

It took me a while to realize that there are three different timelines in this movie, which made it confusing to watch. However, the film is excellent, and it looks incredible in 4K UHD. Love this purchase!

I'm a huge Nolan film. and what he did with Dunkirk was incredible. Shooting real ships and planes, and real extras. You don't see this sort of epic filmmaking done anymore. The editing and cinematography are amazing!

This should have won the Oscar for best picture. Anyhow, the picture on the blu-ray is absolutely magnificent with various ratios, including IMAX sequences. A commentary would have been nice, but no complaints here.

Great movie although it may not be for all tastes. What is undeniable is that this is a showpiece for 4K visuals and especially the intense audio. No streaming will match the high bit rate audio.

Look, if you’re a fan of Christopher Nolan, then Dunkirk is a MUST HAVE. If you’re a WW2 history buff, then Dunkirk is a MUST HAVE. If you’re a fan of just good movies in general, then Dunkirk is a MUST HAVE.

Very skillfully filmed and telling the story from many different angles from the rescue boat sailors , the soldiers and commanders . Beautifully made . Extras disc is better watched prior to the movie itself

Truth be told I bought it because I got a new 4K player and TV and wanted to watch 4k movies on them. It was decent movie itself, I don't revere it with other WWII movies the likes of Saving Private Ryan. As far as quality of the picture/ 4k etc. Great

This steelbook came in great condition with great inner art. On top of that the film itself is very enjoyable, and I would go so far as to say it's a must have for any steelbook collectors.

An intense and immersive experience, Dunkirk is another masterpiece from Christopher Nolan. Light on dialogue, but heavy on intense cinematography and brilliant visuals, this World World 2 film is a quick punch, but one that is sure to satisfy.
