This dvd player does not resume. You have to push a button on the set before you turn it off. It can't be done on the remote. This will get it to resume about half the time. Resume is the most important feature on a dvd player. It plays well, even with scratched dvd's but I wish I had just spent a bit more for one that works like it should.

goes to sleep on pause to quickly, then sometimes will go back to beginning!

This is a kid friendly DVD player. Very easy for kids to use. Although brand new movies skip in the player it provided what my kids needed to watch tv

This DVD player is perfect and is just what I was looking for. It was extremely easy to set up; it's compact & lightweight, not to mention it has superb playback. I liked it so much that when my daughter-n-law mentioned needing one, I went out and purchased one for her.

- The remote and signal are extremely weak, and you have to hold the remote in just the right spot to have the player recognize a signal. - Once you place a DVD in the carrier you can't just give it a little push to close-- if you do so, it may appear closed but will not have "clicked" into place. You MUST press the "open/close" button. This sounds like a small thing but actually becomes a pain time and again. - If you turn it off in the middle of watching a TV series, when turning it back on it has reset your position so that the episode you were up to is on loop (whereas before it was playing all episodes). Also doesn't sound like a big deal, but I've never known a DVD player to do this, every other one I've had just picks up where it left off. I'm actually a bit confused why it would only partially reset. Don't know if this effects scenes in movies or anything else. - Noisier than my last DVD player - You can NOT store this DVD player sideways-- it does not carry the DVD tightly enough and the DVD will fall out of place and float around inside the machine. - You must turn the DVD player off specifically when you turn the TV off. If not, when you turn the TV/DVD back on it will be "angry and tired"-- the picture quality will be pretty rough for a while. It resolved itself after a scene for me, but was not something I want happening in the first place. tl;dr-- Plays DVDs but disregards user interface. Good for business use, not home use. Even though I am on a budget, I would rather pay more for a better product next time.

For some reason, the designers of this DVD player though it would be a good idea to have the player shut off automatically when it's left idle for a little while (maybe 5 or 10 minutes). This is described as a power-saving feature in the manual, even though the power consumption is only 11 watts anyway. This means that if you stop in the middle of watching something to go make yourself a sandwich or answer a phone call, you will probably come back to find that the player is off. Which would be fine, except that the memory is very unreliable - half the time, when you turn it back on (whether you've turned it off yourself or it has turned itself off) it will start the disc back at the beginning. Which means not only have you lost your place, but you have to sit through all the DVD warnings and disclaimers yet again. And by the way, when you set up the DVD player you actually have to go into the set-up menu and TURN ON the memory, or you won't even get the unreliable version. I would have bought a more expensive player, but it appeared to me that I would only be paying for features I didn't need, like upscaling (useless to me with my 30-year old CRT tv), not for better basic quality of the player.

What I was looking for was to be able to pause dvd and power down the unit. The next day I could power it up it started the dvd exactly where I left off.

Just your basic dvd player, nothing special. Gets the job done
