I purchased this DVD Player for my 7 year old son to go along with the new flat screen television we purchased 2 months ago. It was simple to set up and within minutes he was watching his favorite movie and enjoying every minute of it. I had never purchased anything from Insignia before, so for the first time out the gate it's a homerun.

Nice low price for a basic DVD player. Easy to use and install. Got it for the gkids to use.

For the money, it's a safe buy just to play videos. After 2 years, it will conk out though. I've bought them before. It's a no frills or thrills deal but if the kids just want to watch a movie in another room which mine do, it does the trick.

The DVD works great but you have to know how to make it work. The diagram for connecting it the TV is not clear and the instructions are not helpful, so I had to look at several utube videos to figure out how to hook it up. If the instructions were in color rather than black and white the connections may have may have been easier to figure out, but may be no,t since the colors on the cables do not natch the colored connections on the DVD or TV. Finally, I bought an Insignia DVD player because I have an Insignia TV and I thought the TV would automatically recognize it, but you have to change the TV input from TV to the input format you use to connect the TV to the DVD, which is a whole other story. It is cheap, it works well, and if you have the time and patience, it is fine.
