no sound, can't get sound to work directions on cables no good, says not in box, did have some cables, no hdmi port

I want either a refund or replacement for another DVD player but from a different manufacturer and or brand.

This player would not work when hooked up. We wanted a simple player. We had to return and replace with a Sony.

This unit had very poor picture quality. Returned for another brand.

I needed a second DVD player, and this one has suited my needs well. It has been in use for over a year now and does a supper job. It was not expensive but has excellent quality and ease of operation.

This remote didn't work well for me it had a poor response

If you are looking for a simple DVD player, this is the one to purchase. It is durable and has lasted through kids using it weekly.

I had a Magnavox DVD Player that was manufactured in 2005 and it finally went out after all these years! Pretty good run. But I did not have the $$$$ to spend on a new unit. Picked this up at Best Buy and brought it home for less then $30 on sale. Was easy to hookup and worked right away. I loved the fact that the DVD Player had included a battery with the remote. The unit had no A/V Cables to hook up to the TV but if you are replacing your DVD player that broke with the new one such as this unit you can use the old cables. I'm not ready for HD or Bluray yet and have a 4X3 CRT that still works so it works well for my usage. Here is a hint when you first set it up. If you are hooking this up into a flat screen TV. The unit is already configured by default to look optimal on the screen at 16x9 If you are on a CRT TV you will want to go to the setup button on the remote and change the TV Type to 4x3 letterbox. If you don't do this , some movies will look cutoff. I know Blu Ray is slowly becoming shelved in favor of HD Streaming Movies and with DVD Movies you can only get them these days by buying combo packs. but if your old school like me, and treasure your movies, you will want to get this DVD Player and continue watching them. If you have kids and they have their own TVs its a great buy and while the product appearance is not fancy it does what its supposed to at a price that won't break your pocketbook.

This DVD player made a terrific gift. It has a nice compact size and is easy to use. A great unit for people who are just interested in watching movies with convenience.

i brought this dvd player because it was cheap, it works good and the picture quality is ok. i played several dvds and it work good. i just needed it for when i rent dvds from redbox. i will have to see how long it lasts....

Very easy to set up and use right away! Don't let the inputs bother you if you don't use HDMI. It will take basic 480i inputs even though it shows component inputs.

I bought this for my bedroom. It was pretty good UNTIL it needed to be updated then it started freezing up. Apparently it needed to be updated and you need WIFI for that. I do not have WIFI so I called the customer service and they were supposed to send me something that would help me do the update without the wifi. It took them SO long to send it that I ended up just using my mobile hot spot and doing the update and it has been perfect since then

Works very well and was easy to set up. I had to call the support number for a quick question and they were very helpful.. Definitely would purchase it again.

I am really enjoying this dvd player it is easy to set up and also easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple dvd player.

I bought this simple DVD player for use with my fitness DVDs. I went to the online instruction manual to pring the PDF file and it appears that 4 pages are compressed into one, so the printed file, which I needed to take to another room away from my computer to hook up the player, is printed in a microscopic font which required a magnifying glass for my 61 year-old eyes to read, even with recently purchased new lenses in my glasses correcting my vision to 15/20. As the manual is available only as a PDF, could you expand the 4 compressed pages to 4 letter sized pages for ease of reading? I will update my evaluation when I finally get the thing properly connected!

Press pause and turn it off it holds the position on the disc. Stop doesn't hold the position however if you shut it down. All functions are as expected.
