I honestly thought this title was one of those ones that I regret buying. (did not read any reviews before I got it ) At, first the game started out slow and lame, you feel helpless against the zombies. It will feel like a survival game especially at night, everything that you gather matters in order to survive, med kits are really valuable. ( be careful in dying because you lose survival points every time you die) In the game campaign theres a lot of side quest missions that you need to do which adds up those skill points to level up your character, so dont focus solely on the main mission because this skills is much needed to gain more abilities and moves. This game become more enjoyable as you unlock all these abilities and moves and thus makes it more fun and easier. On the later part of the game as the city part is unlocked and grappling is enabled this game turns into a zombie infested hacking and slashing playground. As you level up and build all the skills and abilities, it turns into this open world hack and slash bad a** game that you become like a zombie killing super machine.

This game has surpassed my expectations on so many levels. Zombie games are usually like the next but this one is different. The controls are a little iffy but you get used to it after awhile.
The graphics are well detailed and the story/missions fit very well. I mainly purchased this game to play with my friends but it turns out that I have more fun without them.

All of the best elements of every zombie movie you've ever seen in one game! Different zombie variations, frantic action, moral dilemmas, it's all there. The controls are a bit tricky to get used to even for experienced players but once you get them down they work so fluidly making gameplay seamless allowing you to easily become immersed in the game. (note I have not played much online)

This game is made by the same company that made dead island and dead island riptide. This game is also completely different. Yes they both have zombies but Dying Light is fast paced with tons of side missions to keep you and your friends playing for hours on end. I have to give it a 4/5 because the story isn't really so great. The gameplay is really what I bought it for.

After Playing the last of us and truly enjoying the story-line and action of a zombie 1st shooter. I figured I would Give this on a try. I just started playing and this looks to be a solid story-line style also, and the action sequences with the zombies are harder on this game due to supply accessibility. the ability to do roof top navigation is a plus.

As an open world and first person shooter game, this game is one of the best zombie games out there. The graphics are nothing but perfect and the gameplay the best out there. the sudden change of the gameplay from daylight to night time is unique and totally awesome. reminds me of the movie I am Legend. Lots of weapons to choose from. this is a must have game.

Love everything about this game except it needs a long range sniper rifle for those who like to snipe, and some upgrades for the few firearms you get would also be rewarding. My son & I have played countless hours & are still having a lot of fun... All game play is satisfying & glitches are small & few. If you like a good zombie apocalypse look no further.

This is one of those games that keeps you up at night. Not just because it makes you jump with fright (which it does), but that there are so many side missions and areas of progression for your character that you continuously think about the different how far you can push your character into night....when the big bad, even more killer zombies come out!!!

The free roaming and endless combinations make this a great game. The reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is a few glitches that should have been caught prior to releasing to the public. If you turn the game off after sleeping and not saving you will lose all inventory and skill upgrades which is to say the least frustrating.

Dying Light introduced a new layer to the increasing number of zombie titles out on the playstation and xbox platforms, that being a free-running open world design. For the 30 hours it took me to complete the game, I found myself completely invested in the experience, at both the gameplay and story-telling levels. Would definitely recommend

This game is fun and challenging. I die constantly, especially during night gameplay since there's some fast zombies who chase you. The story is interesting and it keeps you wanting to find out what's next. The ability and crafting upgrades are awesome. I'm now jumping over zombies. I haven't tried the multiplayer mode but it looks fun.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed Dying light way more than dead island which this game is pretty much an upgraded version of with a better story and mechanics in play style. Once you start you will really be sucked into its beauty and especially the parkour aspect of the game which In my opinion more games should adopt. However, as fun as the weapons creations you make and the parkour is, in the end its a very traditional fetch quest game. Basicaly you do something for someone and you return for a reward. It has great enemey diversity and a lot to explore and do but at some point for me that same quest selection can make the game boring for me. This game has a ton of side quests on top of the campaign so my best adice would be to balance between the two because if you do to much side quest you will eventually burn your self out. You can go back and forth between the areas of the game (wont spoil that anymore) so you wil never really lose out on stuff to do. I enjoyed it but not enough to keep it, may want to rent it first to see what your thoughts are, it does have a great co-op mode however and that makes the game much more enjoyable.

Wow, got to say I'm really enjoying DL. Full of suspense, especially at night where you get double XP since the zombies are tougher. Scraping parts together for medkits and weapons add to the doomed atmosphere you're trying to survive. Never played any of the Dead Island games but I will recommend this one to all my gamer buddies.

I am about half way through the main story and 100s of side missions. This game is a ton of fun on your own and only gets better when played with a few of your friends. Be the zombie mode is just an added bonus. Hours of fun.. Like another user said, it is like fallout meets dead island and mirrors edge. This is a must buy.

This is by far my favorite zombie game to date. It mixes elements of parkour and hack and slash and brings it to a whole new level. Any fan of Mirrors Edge will instantly fall in love with the parkour mechanics in this game which makes running and jumping through the zombie ridden town a blast and basically every point you can see, you can climb to. The graphics are top notch whether your slicing a zombie in half or just free running through the city for the fun of it. The attention to detail is impeccable! The missions never bore and there's always tons to do. The added 4 player coop makes the game that much more fun when you and 4 friends can roam the city jumping rooftop to rooftop and taking on hordes of zombies. This game is a mixture of Mirrors Edge, Fallout 3, and Dead Island all rolled into one. If you're a fan of any of those games Dying Light is a MUST BUY!

Techland took the Dead Island formula and cultivated a very engaging adventure. I get a very Fallout 3 vibe from this game which is great, one of my most favorite games ever. The parkour running is an absolute joy after you get used to the slight learning curve. Combat is tense and exciting. Mostly you are using melee weapons and for good reason. Loud noises attract the faster more viral zombies that can climb buildings and actively seek you out. You have a ton of other items you can craft, like DIY grenades, throwing stars, moltov cocktails, firecrackers, etc. The quests are a good mix of varied fetch quests at the beginning, but open up to more complex actions in the later game, not that I am even close to the later game as there is so much to do. 4 player co-op is flat out awesome and keeps track of everyone progress. Nighttime brings a whole other dynamic to the game which you need to experience for yourself. I have never felt so scared in a game since Outlast. If you are on the fence, but enjoyed Dead Island's first half, then go ahead and take the plunge, you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed playing this game for several reasons. For one, it's got a fairly lengthy campaign. If you do side quests and such (which can be rewarding), you can take several weeks to play this game.
The control scheme is pretty good. You're going to be doing a lot of hand-to-hand combat, so it's easy to learn how to run, grapple, throw, kick, and bash zombies' brains it with weapons!
The animations are very strong as well. The whole area and the characters are just beautiful to watch. Except the zombies. Those people are freaking terrifying.
The one knock I would have is how the game ends. The story itself is pretty strong and definitely had some gripping moments as people die and your character faces moral conflicts. However, the game ends on a very flat note. Seems like it's setting the stage for the next game (surprise), but I would have appreciated more resolution.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with the game and it's worth getting. If you have a Gamers Club Unlocked membership, saving 20% makes it even better!

I purchased the game because I love the 1st person perspective and this is the latest release that gives me that view. I figured I would like the game but when I watched some game play videos, I wasn't really impressed.
But once I got the game and spent some time playing and advancing my players arsenal so I could be a little more agressive with the zombies, I just love it!
It is very addictive. I am about 75% through the game now and am dreading the day I finish it and can't smash more zombies on quests. I know the game will not just self destruct so I can still explore.
I see there is a season pass available for Dying Light which I will definitely be researching to see if it actually contains enough new content to be worth it. But who am I kidding, I will probably just buy it for a couple quests.
