The game looks excellent and the world is very wide open and fun. The tasks are reasonable but a lot of the gameplay leaves you figuring out for an hour how to get to a spot you need to get to in order to complete the mission. Very aggrivating and glitchy as certain missions I found out later on if you skip certain yellow highlighted tasks and try a different one first, the harder task you were originally stuck on for an hour vanishes and you can advance without having completed the full set of tasks!?!? The movement is a bit glitchy as well with the jumping from rooftop to rooftop and what you can climb and what you cant climb. Got stuck climbing a wall a few times where you fall but not all the way down, and you're stuck half in the wall with no way out and zombies eating you... fun

Dying light is a survival horror that keeps you on the edge of your seat while providing a well polished open world experience that will satusfy. It brings a realistic scavange, run and occasional beat the horde back with with endless crafted weapons you will obtain an upgrade.

Had a blast running around killing zombies with every new and upgraded weapon I could find/craft.
Story line is average but gameplay more then makes up for it.
Side missions are diverse enough to be worth doing.

The parkour system is a simplified version of mirrors edge but still just as good. The weapon upgrade system is very similar to Dead Island and the story missions are long but full of cliches. It's terrifying when night comes. The game is meant to be played with friends.

This game is very fun and it does get a bit challenging at times. If you are a fan of Dead Island, then you will most likely love this game. You can also play this with friends online to do some side missions and gain some experience. Overall, this is fun and challenging.

This game's controls took a little getting used to. It was still fun. You play as a runner and have to do missions in the midst of zombies. The zombies aren't too bad during the day, but when night falls, things become a lot tougher and faster paced. You'll see why.

Dying light is very fun to play. The open world is truly open with many different ways to approach most obstacles. The reason I gave it four instead of five stars is the game can be buggy at times but I'm sure these bugs will be fixed the longer the game is out.

This game is awesome! Great graphics, storyline, and weapons. It was hard to get use to using bronze age weapons in the beginning, although, you get to have your guns later on in the game, which is very nice. The game had huge maps too! Lots of places to explore.

Fun, scary, and pretty. It follows the gameplay style of Far Cry 3&4, which is not a bad thing. The melee system feels nice and brutal. It's a lot of fun to dropkick a zombie off a cliff or into spikes. A few bugs here and there. Overall I'm having a blast.

The best Dead Island yet is Dying Light

As long as you know you're actually getting Dead Island, with a bit of climbing and a frightening nighttime scenario added in, you'll do fine with Dying Light. It's just as shlocky and nasty as the rest of the Dead Island series, only with fewer glitches and surprisingly detailed graphics.
Some might worry about limited weapon repairs, where each hatchet or hammer can only be repaired a handful of times before permanently breaking. But the game provides such a steady stream of ever more powerful weapons that it's never a problem, and in fact just stops you hanging on to some obsolete tool for too long. You can recycle them into crafting components, but I like to double-click R3 and throw them at the zombies just as they break down.
Co-op is great, though everyone has to play as the same guy, just in different outfits, which was a bit short-sighted.

Great zombie game, great survival game, horrific at times, overall great game. Interesting use of weapons - generally you would think these types of games would call for using guns to mow down mobs of zombies, this took a totally different look at that.

I started playing the game and was meh at first and then realized the game gets better and harder as you progress. The zombies are slow at first and get more aggressive as you level up to keep the challenge consistent. I suggest you level up as much as you can before progressing on the main story and side quests. And collect as many items as you can.
And then there is the night, the darkness and noises make it a whole different game, you can choose to survive the night or sleep through it, depends on how brave you are..
Overall great game, I have put in almost 30 hours of gameplay and have completed only 15% of the game. online co-op is great as well. Buy it you will not regret it.

I have not finished this game but have played it for several hours. It feels exactly like Mirror's Edge meets Dead Island. That's a great thing and a bad thing. Mirror's Edge was all about the speed. The only real exploring was done to find a faster path to get from point A to point B.
This game requires you to collect loot in order to craft items/weapons. However, in order to collect items, you have to stop every two seconds to look around your feet for treasure boxes. This interrupts the flow of the free-running. In my opinion, they should have incorporated a method to collect items and fight zombies all while continuously running.
Maybe that happens more as you unlock items. Though, with the whole lock picking aspect (ala Thief) I don't see how that's going to be possible.
Still, it's a good game with a solid story and great acting.

I can't believe I'm writing a review for this game, but with the professional sites not giving it good scores, I figured to chime in.
This has to be one of the most fun open world games ever! It takes a while to get used to jumping with R1, but afterwards it becomes second nature. The graphics are great, the sounds are amazing, and I even loved the musical score. My only complaint would be some of the recycled faces you see from time to time.
When it turns to night, it's a different game. It becomes more difficult and you do not want to draw any attention to yourself because you can be dead in seconds. It becomes a cat a mouse game. Very fun in the later stages of the game. When you're starting, you're better off just finding a shelter and sleeping till next day.
This is one of my surprise games. Was not expecting much and I played it for 50+ hours.

The combat is pretty fun and the story is solid, but the parkour in this game is a blast! Running on any building, climbing and jumping off anything in your way, including zombies is fun, hopefully they include aspects of that in future games!

This is the best zombie game I've played in a very long time. Resident evil 4 on ps3 was the last good zombie game I've played but that was in third person. This game is in first person and was made by the same people who worked on dead island. This game is much better than dead island because they added parkour and it gets really intense at night. Without using your flashlight, you won't be able to see anything so that tells you how realistic the game is graphics wise. The gameplay is fun, smooth, and addicting. Killing zombies feels really satisfying and no it does not get boring after a few days or weeks. The game is so much fun to play with friends especially when a zombie invades your game and you and 2 of your friends work together to destroy that zombie invader. I give this game a 4.5 out of 5. Great game to start the year!
