Easy to install. Wires get a little out of control.

I bought this gadget because I had several SATA hard drives (one was a 1Tbyte drive the other was a 160 gigabyte drive) that I needed to retrieve files from. I took the case off and plugged in the SATA drive. The SATA connectors and metal side bars hold the hard drive snugly. I powered it up and plugged in the USB cable to the device and my Windows 7 laptop's USB 2.0 port. The laptop quickly recognized the SATA drives without any issues. The file transfer rate from the SATA drive to the laptop was much faster than I had expected for a USB 2.0 device. Eventually the gadget will become an external USB hard drive but for now I am leaving the case off because I have other SATA hard drives I have to look at. I have not yet tested the USB 3.0 features.

I purchased this enclosure since I was scrapping an 6 year old PC and wanted to preserve the HD for a couple of years while at the same time I had access to the content if needed. I had previously transferred the essential HD contents to the new PC, but wanted ensure I still had a back up. I actually bought this as an open box item and it was a bit cheaper. All the parts were included and only took a few minutes to install the hard drive and it worked perfectly.

An ally and aid for my hard drive "morgue" that's easy to use, quick quiet response. Perfect for my and anyone who has hard drive data retrieval needs.

I think this product is very handy, takes up little space and was not too costly. I am able to back up my files without any problems. I love the .0 speed transfer rate as well.

Cheap and seems to do the job just fine. It's mounted out of sight in a server closet, so looks aren't super important. Works well and has been trouble free.

We decided to buy a desktop to replace our old one. This HP desktop was a good choice. It does not take up a lot of space and it's fast. We are happy with this purchase.

The enclosure works as expected. I just don't like the big Dynex lettered on the side. That's my only complaint, so it's minor. Function first, form later.

The case works fine. It was easy to set up. I was hoping to find a Sata/Eide compatible case, and this only works with SATA drives. It was a fair price.

Picked up a Western Digital 1TB internal hard drive on sale. Setup with this enclosure was a snap and it was picked up by my PC in no time.

Reasonably priced. Easy set-up/installation. A stand included would have made this product better.

It was very easy to set up and use. When my HP desktop quick working, I purchased a new 2T hard drive and ghosted the information from the old hard drive onto the new drive. I placed it in the DYNEX box that I purchased form Best Buy and it works great. I now can access all of the information that I had on my previous computer and download it to my new computer. Once that is completed, I will format the drive and use it as a backup device.

I first used this enclosure to recover data from a relative's PC HDD when the system died and then transfer it to the new system. After that I installed the 2TB HDD from my IOMEGA NAS when the controller died and was able to recover the data from it. I now use it as a backup drive. This enclosure would be even better if it could also handle 2.5 drives. That would make it a great tool for upgraders, techs, etc.

Power unit on our very old computer went out. We didn't want to replace the computer or put any money into it, but couldn't remember what had been added since the last backup. We pulled the hard drive and using this enclosure hooked it up via USB to my laptop and had instant access to everything and now we have an extra drive and storage. Very easy to use even for this amateur.

My old computer started failing one component after another. I replaced it, pulled the hard drive and connected it through this Dynex box. It was a simple connection to get it in the box, and the USB 3.0 is very fast. I was able to transfer all my documents, pictures and important files in a fraction of the time I expected.

This is an easy way to transfer data from an old drive to a new one.Access is via fast USB and pretty easy with included software. this device cannot access drives with damaged boot sectors and provides no way to re-construct drive or re-format thus making a damaged drive usable. Otherwise does what it says it will do elegantly.

My computer crashed and needed a way to retrieve my documents from the HD since the last back up was a bout a month ago. I removed the HD from the computer and was able to get to my files after converting it a portable HD with the HD Enclosure.

I bought this so that I could use files from my old PCon my new one without having to transfer manually, using flash drives. It is exactly what I needed, and it works like a charm, for not too much money. What more can you want? If I need something like this again, I know where to find it. Thanks, Best Buy.

This is a really nice enclosure. It was very convenient to have the screw driver included. It's very easy to use and feels sturdy and well made. The only down side for me was the price. It's a bit much for what it is. At my local best buy however, this was my only option.

I would recommend this product for any looking to expand their storage for a reasonable price.
