I use the drive to back up my personal information once a week. If the computer dies, I can restore all to the new machine. All installed software and licenses are backed up. So I will never be at a loss if my desktop dies.

For the price, it does exactly what the box says. It comes with the tools needed to make installation easy. Recommended enclosure for anyone that needs to salvage a hard drive without going through fully backing it up.

It was a little tricky to find the right way to open the enclosure, and there should have been more case venting. Other than that, it worked just as it should, and I got the data from a hard drive I took out of a failed system.

Does just what I needed it to. I was able to remove data from a dead pc by pulling the drive. Moved the data to my Mac Mini and now the old drive is a Time Machine. Would have given 5 stars if it were bus powered.

i needed a 2.5' enclosure for my laptop hdd to retrieve old files and best buy had these well stocked and perfectly priced. build quality is excellent! usb 3 and comes with tools for installation!

Purchased to trouble-shoot problem drive. Setup was easy and whole process went very smooth. Wish the problem drive worked as well, but will keep this box to add additional backup drive.

I opened the package and connected the hard drive with no issues, and connected the USB cable to the computer. I was able to access the hard drive with no issues and retrieve the data I needed.

Plug two connectors in and slide the hard drive into it. Works like a charm. Could not screw the drive to the box as the screws were too short to reach the drive. Still works as expected though.

Great product. Good design. Had to look up video on youtube to get proper instructions tho. Everything came with the box that was needed (tools). Got it all done under 10mins.

My Dynex Hard Drive Enclosure works great for me. The connecting cords are adequate in length, and the On/Off switch makes it very easy to use when you need it right then!

This was needed to hold all my files from my old tower so I could access them on my new laptop. It works wonderfully but is tedious to plugin and connect to my laptop.

This external case fits the bill for what I needed. it was extremely good looking and it had on/off and power controls as well as fitting a number of protocols.

Desktop died. Hard drive ok. Researched and found this was the way to go to retrieve info and still use it and not pay a big price for someone else to do it.

The Dynex - 3.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure - Black worked perfectly. Allowed us to keep the internal drive from a previous computer to use with an upgraded.

This product was perfect but my hard drive was the wrong type so it wouldn't fit. Unfortunately, I had to return it. Best Buy gave me a no hassle refund.

Overall good, would have been better if it had some cushion inside so the hard disk is fit tight and not moves

Set up took about five minutes while I put my old internal hard drive into the casing. It then made the internal hard drive a plug and play external.

Our computer of 10 years crashed and of course the BACK-UP was no where to be found plugged this bad boy in and back everything is there.

Worked perfectly to enclose a drive that I cannibalized from my home server.
