Passive 1.2 DP 1080P Would Not Use on UHD TV

This product was ambiguous. This PASSIVE DisplayPort version was 1.2 not 1.4. I do not recommend to use to connect to a 4k UHD display because like the other reviews said this will only give you 1080P at 60 frames from connecting to GPU. Only recommend this passive cable if you want to connect from GPU to a non HDMI 2.1 HDMI surround sound system to get audio.

So I was setting up a dual monitor set up. I started with a really old elitedesk monitor that only had a DVI-d input, which worked, until it died a few days later. So I went shopping and found a cheap $60 monitor on amazon with HDMI. Everything went well until I got the monitor and tried hooking it up..and realized my GPU only has one HDMI (being used for the primary monitor) and 3 display ports, which I thought we're all HDMI. So the problem I faced was that the new monitor only had HDMI and my GPU didn't have an HDMi, so I shopped around for some sort of clunky adaptor. Until I found this awesome wire. So far with a few weeks of use it's been working great. It of course doesn't allow for high refresh rate since it's limited to the HDMI standard, but I didn't need anything like that for my cheap monitor anyways. So far, it's working great. I'll update if anything goes sour

If your computer doesn't have a HDMI output and on;y has a DisplayPort output then this is the cable you need to get the best video and sound quality. It functions exactly like HDMI and carries HD video and audio signals. So you get the benefit of being able to use one cable as opposed to a VGA cable that requires a separate audio cable for sound. After connecting it and using it for a few days I am very satisfied with the performance. It works perfectly. The build quality of this cable is excellent. It is thick and feels very well made. Make sure to check that your computer uses DisplayPort and not Mini DisplayPort because otherwise it won't fit.

Using this cable to connect an older thinkpad laptop with a discrete nvidia quadro chip to a sony tv. Sound and picture come through clear. Cable itself has a good build quality. My TV is a 1080p model so I cannot comment on 4K. Note that this is a directional cable, meaning that the DisplayPort must be plugged into the AV source and the HDMI end must be plugged into the recipient of the signal. It will not work the other way around.

    Great HDMI to DP Cord

My work computer docking station has only DP outlets which is problematic if your monitors have HDMI inputs. I have done USB converters which compromises the quality of output to VGA level or worse. With the DP to HDMI cable, the quality of monitor is not compromised. I recommend IT departments buy these cables in high quantity if there is a mismatch between the computer outlets and monitor inlets.

Nice cheap cable. Exactly what I needed. Since the pandemic. I've been working from home. When my company decided to move their office, they allowed us to bring some equipment home. I grabbed my two monitors. Now I had three nice large monitors on my desk for maximum productivity without constantly having to switch apps on a single screen. The only problem I discovered after getting home was that I needed a different cable. Off to Best Buy and I soon had just what I needed. I was very pleased to find one at such a reasonable price. It connected easily, and has been working ever since. I'll probably keep working from home indefinitely!

Now that I'm working from home permanently, my micro PC only has 2 video outputs--HDMI and DP. I already had HDMI, so I needed DP. My monitor is HDMI or DVI only, so I needed a cable to adapt. This one works perfectly. Wish it came in 3' length, but a little velcro cable wrap and we're good to go.

I had my work laptop hooked up via a VGA cable for the second monitor. The monitor would always squeeze the screen down after it timed out. I could only use a DisplayPort to HDMI cable, as my docking station didn't support HDMI. It looks great! About the only complaint has nothing to do with the cable. If I'm away for too long, the monitor powers off, and all of my windows are back on the other monitor. Might be time for a new monitor.

Excellent For Adapting A PC Rig

I have a PC with an AMD RX 5600 XT, which has 1 HDMI out and 3 DisplayPort out. The HDMI goes to the TV, so I needed a cable to go to my surround sound system, which has HDMI input. I couldn't do passthrough with the surround system, as it's limited to 4K@60Hz. This cable allows me to run my surround sound system as a second (unused) display, so I can output Dolby Atmos directly from the PC to it.

Whether this is your first time buying a cable or you've done it 1,000 times, this is the cable for you! It comes in black- so it works for when you're hanging around the house or going out for the evening. Plus, black never goes out of style so this truly is a cable for the ages! The cable is also made for the person on the go. It can easily be coiled and dropped in a purse and, when coiled, it essentially is cable and a handle. And it is just plain amazing. So clear your calendar and head to Best Buy for this cable!

Working from home, I needed a way to run 3 screens for my workstation. I looked at a number of options and decided to try plugging my HDMI monitor into the Display Port on my laptop. This cable worked perfectly. All I had to do was plug it in and I was up and running. Just like that, I was able to turn my dual monitor workstation into a tri monitor workstation. The cable was an easy and inexpensive investment that is already paying off. I've had the cable several weeks now and have not experienced any issues.

Not Always Compatible with Native Resolutions

I don't think there's anything wrong with this product but wanted you to be aware of what happened in my situation. I'm running a LG Ultrawide 29" display into a nVidia M5000 gpu. Using this cord I was unable to get the graphics card to recognize the native monitor resolution (60 Hz 2560x1080). I was able to set up a manual resolution that worked (50 Hz 2560x1080). I ended up getting an approved active displayport to HDMI adapter as recommended by nVidia. Once I did this, the native resolution was automatically recognized. This issue could be specific to my GPU, but just be aware that not all native resolutions may work with this cable.

We needed this product as we run most of our virtual reality Computers to TVs for clients to see. We hook up the display port side to the Graphics card and then the HDMI side to the TV. They work great. No visual issues, everything works as expected. As a side note , gaming is possible with these. But, you may see some slight screen tearing depending on certain settings.

    Great passive conversion cable

High quality cable, male-to-male six-foot DisplayPort to HDMI adapter cable. Works perfectly to connect my desktop (DisplayPort++) to my monitor (HDMI). This cable would probably not work to connect an older DisplayPort (i.e. not DP++) host to a monitor since it seems to be a passive cable. My cable arrived 1 day after I ordered it even though I selected free, slow shipping.

Got this cable for my second monitor, an AOC from Best Buy with VGA and HDMI outputs. Since I have a VR headset now, it requires the HDMI port and the monitor didn't seem to like the short converter I got.. or maybe I just need a fresh install of Windows. Either way, this cable did exactly what it needed to at a reasonable price. I believe this is the second one I've gotten (have another on my ultra wide LG)

Things you need to kno0w before buying this. 1) Strictly for 1080P signals only! 2) Restart your PC after installing! I had a graphics card that had trouble with sounds from HDMI, so I used this cable. Although the sound problem was fixed, I was then having problems with resolution since this card locks you at 1080P max. I ended up returning it and getting a new graphic card, but the cable does it's intended job.

Took them 3 hours to get this ready for pickup. I was a walk in and couldnt find it available on the store front and when I asked somewhere where the item was I had to do a store pickup. I figured I could go eat and it would be done, but no. I had to wait 3 hours for them to get a 6 inch cable from the back of the store. It was more of a hassle coming to best buy than it was for them to get my cable

Using my LED TV as a monitor. My new Win 10 computer came with the old standard RGB and Display Port options. My TV on the other hand has RGB HDMI. Since my older computer was using the lone RGB I needed the transfer cable. Using the Display port/HDMI makes for a much better picture but also larger so you will need to adjust your screen size in the settings section of Windows.
