Purchased 2 of these in a pinch during a trade show. they got me buy with what I needed to get done but they dropped signal several times I even had a drive go bad that I connected through this hub and I think it may have been the reason. I purchased another brand at less than half the price at another store and it works much better.

So, I bought this thing because I needed a powered USB hub. Within two days, one of the ports burned out, now, two weeks later, the whole thing is toast. I would NOT recommend buying this pile of junk. I will be returning it for a cash refund as time allows.

This falls under the "you get what you pay for" section.
I have yet to have anything from Dynex last.
I said I wouldn't buy anything from Dynex again but I thought something as simple as a USB charger would last.

This hub does not work. The only good thing out of the purchase was I could use the power supply on an older hub and use it.

Good Hub for a Raspberry Pi

I picked this up because I want to get into using a Raspberry Pi. Since the Pi can't power the peripherals I need (Logitech Webcam, Belkin Wifi Dongle, etc), I had to get a powered hub. I'm running all of the peripherals and the Pi itself off of the hub and everythings works fine. The size is perfect, as it sits right on top of my Pi case, and helps weigh it down. Going to pick up a second one to put in my robot.

Nice usb hub

Nice usb hub, powered so it charges my devices too. Looks good, works fine, compact design. Could get crowded since ports are stacked close together, so you might have to skip a port of the usb devices (memory stick for example) takes up more space.

I had the Dynex 7-port hub for 2 months and then it fired my mouse and keyboard receivers. I looked on the Dynex website and they said to return the unit to Best Buy. I did and Best Buy was GREAT! They saw the fired receivers and gave me store credit. I talked with the sales person and ended up buying in the same unit. I contacted Logitech (mouse and keyboard manufacturer) and they do have replacement receivers. I ordered these parts and then called Dynex to see if they would honor their warranty and pay for the new receivers. They claim you have to return the unit to them directly and not to Best Buy....though their website says just the opposite. I'll give this unit one more chance because others seem to say they aren't having problems. Guess I was one of the unlucky ones and got a defective unit:(( I was fortunate and didn't have any expensive equipment attached at the time. I now check the unit multiple times to see if it is hot. When the receivers were fired, you couldn't even pick up the hub...it was HOT!!! ...and it was out in the open.

Garbage

Might as well walked in, and took my money straight to the trash can. This product is literally the worst thing I have ever bought in my life. The cables are flimsy, barelystays connected, half the ports don't even work. DO NOT BUY.

Perfect plug and play. I have a desk with a hutch, so it has a solid back.
Therefore it is not practical to have the power and computer connections on the back. With this configuration I had to place the wi-fi to my mouse on the end of the row.
The more that I am at my computer the less that I am bothered by the placement of the Hub.

Doesn't Charge w/o 2 connections done

I purchased this to charge the array of products that a family normally wants to charge. Namely 2 kindles, 2 iPads, Blackberry, Galaxy S3, and a Fitbit.
Upon setting it up, which was quite easy I plugged it in to the wall outlet to ensure ample power to the hub. However, upon charging overnight the devices that were plugged in lost power (just from being on I'd presume).
Come to find out, you have to hook up the power outlet plug AND the USB cable to your computer to make this work. Really defeats the purpose of a USB hub for charging devices.
What I'm going to try tonight is using the wall plate plug and also running the USB line to the wall plate outlet (vs. to the computer) to see if this works, otherwise, it's a collosel failure on Dynex's part to use this product for this reason.

Broke after 2 months

It's a 2.0 hub, so charging is quite slow. Works well if you leave your device there overnight. Except the power supply is gone after 2 months. Quality problem
