    I added Apple TV but could not get the sound through the HDMI cable because my TV was older. I had to use this unit along with an audio digital optical double male cable to bring the sound to the RCA input jacks of my TV. It worked perfectly. I would suggest not leaving it plugged in all of the time, but instead plug it in only when you use the Apple TV unit.

    Hooked up my Apple TV optical connection, plugged in my RCA jacks and Boom. Fantastic sound out of my BOSE wave radio. Exactly what I had been looking for. Works great!

    We have two optical converters. One from Geffen which cost twice as much as our new Dynex. The Dynex is just as effective. We have another to buy so will definitely by the Dynex again next time.
