This product did not include one of the items that's pictured on the box . I had to purchase it separately. When installed this product did not work. I returned it.

This part was supposed to connect my audio from the tv to the speakers in another room. Worked initially but failed working.

Simple as that... DOA Read the manual... does not work.

Converter worked for awhile then stopped working. It lasted about a month and then failed to convert the signal. I even bought new optical cables to see if that was the problem and it still didn't work.

Corporate recommended this part to make the sound plate work for television but found out it wasn't needed. When taken back for a refund I could only get store credit. Very disappointed in Best Buy store policy.

This little converter works just as advertised. I've been using this for about 3 months now as the output converter from the Apple TV digital audio out to my Sonos analog audio input. There's only one problem I've found. The sound stopped working, and after checking all the connections I couldn't find anything wrong. As a last resort, I cycled the power on this audio converter and the sound came back right away. I've only encountered this behavior once, but it seems entirely plausible that this little device needs a reset every once in a while to clear an internal error. Maybe this was a one-in-a-million event. Maybe this is common. So far, I can't tell.

Product is as advertised. easy set-up - I probably would have given it a 5 if they had stated up front that the digital audio cable was not included. It was only a $3-4 cost, but a pain if you did not know you needed it until you started set-up. Not whining because I looked at what was (and was Not) included so I was prepared. Others who do not read carefully might not be so forgiving.

It does what the description says. Setup was fast and easy. I didn't even use the instruction manual. It would have been nice if a digital audio optical cable was included to complete the kit though.

I purchased the DAC to connect the digital (fiber) output from my OLED TV to my analog preamplifier. (I was attracted by the very low price.) It worked fine for half an hour and then stopped working; instead of the signal I got a flutter noise. It could be a coincidence but the problem happened just as I switched (with my remote controller) from streaming video to Netflix. I talked with two different people at the Dynex tech support but neither had any technical knowledge about the product. The second person suggested visiting the Geek Squad at Best Buy. The Geek cold not help either, other than to arrange to return the bad unit and get a new one. I am waiting to see if the second one will last for longer. It might be too god to believe that a DAC at this price point can solve my connectivity need.

TV only has optical sound. Used to connect to a non-optical sound system. Works great. Cheaper than a soundbar. Easy to install. Needs an optical sound cable to connect to TV.

I bought this product after the soundbar that I bought would not connect to my TV. This product has solved that for me and I'm very pleased!

This product actually saved me some money(didn't have to buy new receiver)...easy installation...does exactly what it says it does ...

I have been using this produce for several months. As I had seen on the reviews it started making static recently. I disconnected it and the next day reconnected it. It's working again. I will see if it continues tp work. It may need to be reset.

We bought a new HDTV and I wanted to run the audio through my very reliable circa 1985 Yamaha R-9 Stereo receiver. Found this on the Best Buy website and picked it up at the store. The only extra purchase was the optical digital audio cable. Hooked this up in 5 minutes and worked right out of the gate. Nice and worth the money.

Although it does convert optical to analog as it says the sound quality is so terrible it's unusable. Returning to BB for a refund.

Used this device on the back of an LG TV that was attached to a movable TV mount. Could easily pull the TV away from wall and tilt left and right for favorable viewing. It took very little adjustment of the TV and wiggling of the optical audio cable for this adapter to break. The cable would no longer attach successfully to the adapter. The adapter is poorly manufactured and not sturdy enough to warrant purchase.
