I purchased this transmitter using part of a gift card. it is very inexpensive. also easy to use. the short audio jack cable means that it is cumbersome if you don't have a large place to put your audio device. My biggest complaint is that I used it on two trips and about every 5 min. I had to tune it back in. were I am there are no competing radio channels. When I did get it tuned in. It sounded great. there is a chance that part of the problem may have been with the temperature. I live in an area that goes from -20 to 40 degrees in the span of a day. may have effect on the inner workings of the transmitter. but had same problem when it was in a warm car cab for hours. I would recommend that if you have the money get a better model. if you don't then the only downside is that you have to keep readjusting signal. I would keep it somewhere you can keep your eyes on the road while tuning. If I had to do it over again I would have pitched in more money and bought a better model. but for$20 its not bad.

I first was impressed by this particular transmitter by a friend who uses it with his iPod video in his car very regularly. A clear, crisp, stereo quality sound is easy to achieve through a selection of four stations and a dial on the side for fine tuning. After hearing his static-free, transmitted music for one-too-many car trips, I finally gave in and bought one.
I use my transmitter with my PSP and now always have music of my preference to listen to in the car all the time. the battery life is yet to be determined for me. I've been using my transmitter for just about every trip I've made for almost 4 weeks now and the battery life is still going, and it's only running on 2 AAA's.
I have only experienced one drawback to this transmitter and it's rather technical to begin with. Depending on what car it's in, the transmission strength and quality varies.
For instance, my friend, who drives a small, hatchback-size compact car gets a steadier, clearer sound while I, driving a Buick Century, have to hunt around a bit longer to find a completely clear signal. Close proximity to power lines and stronger radio station signals due to inner-city travel affect my reception slightly too.
I would highly recommend this transmitter for those who are without an iPod and are looking for something almost equivalent to an iTrip for their MP3; or, for those with an iPod and looking for a less expensive alternative for an FM transmitter.

Well its good for the money cant expet much for 18 dollars. I bought this yesterday and well have used it to go on a coupl eof 3 hour trips works fine while on the interstate in the middle of nowhere but get in town with anything on the 88 fm dial and it becomes a little fuzzy. Sound isnt the greatest but it will be a good substitue tilli get a new indash cd player. Anyways what caN YOU EXPECT FOR 18 DOLLARS ANYWAYS.

I bought this FM transmitter because of its cheap price and I was amazed at what I got. I went to 2 trips from central Illinois to mid texas and again to florida and this unit made both those trips on one set of batteries. The best part of this product is the tuning dial at the bottom which helps remove static. I have owned an iTrip in the past and this unit for half the price blew that iTrip out of the water. I went through pretty large cities with this unit and only had to change the station a time or two and tweak with the tuning dial. You will be happy with this product. And even though you can only choose 4 stations, they are the ones down in in the 88's that you would most commonly use anyways. Just remember to keep you MP3 player around 80% and you will have a great listening experience.

Ok, someone commented about it mixing stations, I dont know if you can really blame that on this. That person lived in orange country cali, where the stations are close and in high numbers.
Anyway, this dynex one does the job but it doesnt sound as good as my old belkin, I will be returning it and forking out some more dough for a different one.
The price was great, and most people probably wouldn't even notice the quality,it depends on the car speakers and car stereo/radio quality.

Not the best option

I have to agree with the reviewer who couldn't keep it on freq. It works OK for a few minutes or maybe even 20 but then walks off freq. If there are any stations near it, then you get them spilling over. Perhaps the problem is not just the freq walk but also low power, because if you put it 3' from the antenna, it doesn't work, but right up next to it, then it works for awhile.

Unkike another reviewer, I found this product ,,,,,,,, lacking in value. (decided not to be too crude)
If you yearn for the days when we loved AM radio, you may enjoy this product.
I got a definate hiss like tapes pre dolby, and the station wouldn't hold too well.
Perhaps it's because 3 of the 4 frequency selections have active stations on them.

This eliminates the need for expensive remote speakers. I use it to transmit internet podcast from my desktop computer to any stereo any where in my house. I was supprised at how powerful this little transmitter is. I can go about 50ft and get clear signal as long i turn up the volume of the divice that i am transmitting from.
Another great feature is 4 choices of frequency to use. Might be a problem in big cities with many stations but I didnt experience that in my large area.

I bought this item hoping it would even be good for the money. I was wrong. This transmitter has only four stations to choose from (88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7) and each station was active in my home town. I don't know if it would work better otherwise, but DONT BUY. Especially if you live in a larger city with a lot of radio stations.
