This does exactly what you need it to do when you are attaching a new CPU to your motherboard with a fan, heat sink, or whatever. The instructions could include tips on how to clean off excess from the motherboard however.

The Dynex Thermal paste was really effective. I made the mistake of cleaning the dust out of my processor on my I7 Dell by removing the heatsink. The existing Thermal Paste stop working and my CPU starting overheating and shutting down. I overapplied this product initially and the computer would not boot. Once I scrapped away the excess leaving a really thin layer of paste the product work as intended. It brought down the thermal read consistently, and my computer hasn't overheated since I bought it (About a month.). Before you use the product read a couple of article / instructions on how to apply it.

I bought this glue to fix my overheating computer. I read several reviews before buying. I am not disappointed. This glue is excellent to put together the CPU of my laptop. Now it runs cool the entire time.

I was in a hurry to purchase for a job. This was the only compound on shelf. It works, I guess that's all that matters on an emergency tech call. A little expensive.

Needed a thermal paste to replace that junk, which Dell puts on the CPU core, for my friend's laptop. I was traveling, so the only possibility was to find it in a local store (Tucson, AZ). Price was reasonable, the packing and the tool set was convenient. Now laptop is not turning off by itself.

Took a guess at Best Buy carrying thermal paste for CPUs. I decided to go ahead and try the dynex brand. I am using it on an old AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition with an aftermarket cpu fan. So far, so good... PC has been on for 48 hours. 2 sessions of gaming, 3 hours each. I'm happy with my purchase.
