I have several Dyson's and love them, so when my Roomba wore out I was excited to get the Dyson robot. Couldn't get it to connect to the internet to set it up. Tried to get help with support and still couldn't get it set up. Returned the same night and went back to the Roomba. It was cheaper and I know how reliable they are. Plus their support is awesome. Got it up and running in no time and couldn't be happier.

This $1300 vacuum stopped working on the second use! Read the reviews, its a colossal fail for Dyson and sadly, its customers. I've been a Dyson customer for years and even had a perfectly good Roomba 650, so I naively bought this thinking it would perform better than Roomba...NOPE, not even close. Best Buy gives you 15 days to return electronics, so I can't bring it back and I own an expensive piece of junk. This purchase was a BIG and costly mistake.

Hi, this is Aimee with Dyson. I am sorry to hear of the unusual experience you've had with your 360 Eye robot vacuum as this is not what we would expect. The Dyson 360 Eye vacuum cleaner uses technology you won’t find in any other robot vacuum.

A unique 360 vision system lets it knows where it is and where it is yet to clean; a Dyson digital motor gives it the most powerful suction of any robot vacuum; patented Dyson cyclones means it can separate particles as small as 0.5 microns from the airflow; a full width brush bar gives it maximum cleaning coverage; and continuous tank tracks maintain speed and direction across all floor types.

We would value the opportunity to ensure your robot vacuum is operating properly and learn more about your experience. Our aim is to provide quick and efficient support. Please email us at [email protected], including your contact information, and we will be glad to assist.

      Best Wishes,

It cleans like a Dyson Vacuum. Keep the cameras clean, sensors and it works like clockwork. The only thing I would change is the capacity of the dust, etc. It works so well and I may buy another.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to provide a review on the 360 Eye. We are pleased to hear that you are satisfied with how well it cleans. The robot cleans using a vision system: so that it can operate successfully, ensure there is adequate lighting in the room. The robot drives out 1m into the room with the brushbar turned off. The robot then cleans in 5mx5m grids, centered on the dock. The machine will clean each 5mx5m section before moving on to the next.

It will work around any obstacles in each section until all of the floorsplace has been covered before returning to the dock.

If you are not getting the proper response from the 360, we would value the opportunity to assist and want to ensure your machine is working as intended. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

Anything Dyson that I've owned has been first class. The product last and are easy to service. I'm an experienced robot vacuum owner. I've currently have Neato D80 doing the upstairs and a Samsung 9050 doing the downstairs. The Samsung drive broke, and went back under warranty. I tried the Dyson after reading the marketing info. Having a large pet, I work the robots hard. Lots of area rugs to cover. The Dyson is significantly smaller than my other robots. The dust bin concerned me because it's tiny. Once I got the app installed on my phone I started the robot. All was OK until it hit the area rugs. It was hopping because the suction was too much for unit. In other words, the space between the brush and the carpet was too close. The unit couldn't maintain distance and started hopping. You've all swept area rugs and heard how the carpet pulls up and too close to the sweeper. Well this unit stumbles and hops. It misses most of the area rug because it's only trying to get through the difficult terrain. The other noticeable issue is that it's too slow. My Samsung is a brute and powers through anything, and does a much better job. Neato? The same thing. Very good on all surfaces. I returned the Dyson and got a replacement Samsung 9050. Who would benefit the most from this Dyson? People with regular carpet, no area rugs, or a hardwood floor with no area rugs. I'm really disappointed after waiting 2 years for this thing. I have faith in Dyson that they will improve it.

      Hello there,

Thanks for taking the time to provide this review and we truly appreciate your continued support of the Dyson brand. It is unfortunate to hear that the performance of your 360 Eye Robot was hindered by your area rugs and the machine may have been returned.

The 360 Eye uses continuous tank treads to smooth over bumps and glide over uneven surfaces – this makes it capable of working across multiple floor types – crossing tatami mats, carpet, rugs and hard floors all in the same cleaning session. This means it won’t veer off on a tangent or operate in wonky cleaning patterns. It is unusual to hear your machine encountered a hopping pattern.

You are right to note that area rugs have the potential to form a seal with a powerful vacuum and hinder movement. However, the 360 Eye features a self-regulating V2 digital motor to optimize efficiency across all floor types. An internal microprocessor makes up to 3,300 adjustments each second to control its speed to monitor and self-adapt to vacuum airflow.

We’d like to hear more about your experience. Please e-mail your contact information to [email protected] and we will be in touch to help.

      Best wishes,

Great robot vacuum, if you robot-proof your house

I ordered this Dyson from Japan before they were available in the USA. Like with any other robot vacuum, it gets stuck, lost, and can be a pain in the butt. That being said, after some growing pains (i.e. making sure to turn on the lights while it cleans, preventing it from going under my futon by adding plastic "bumpers" to the futon itself, removing any exposed wires), this vacuum does an excellent job at cleaning. That being said, it still gets stuck now and again. Sometimes it'll think it's "stuck" and really it's not. I'll just press the "resume" button and it'll keep on going. That brings me to the app. Overall, it's improved a TON since it first came out. I do wish I could resume cleaning through the app when the robot thinks it's stuck (but in reality, it's not really stuck). Also, you can't directly control it through the app. You can give basic commands like pause, resume, suction power, and return to base. Overall, I'm happy with my Dyson 360 eye. My parents just got a PowerBot Turbo, and it's HUGE compared to the Dyson. I think that the Powerbot navigates better, doesn't get stuck as often, but it doesn't have a stable phone app, and I don't know if it has the suction of the Dyson. Just know that this vacuum requires patience. You can't just take it out of the box and expect it to work perfectly -- you'll have to robot "proof" your home first.

I was so excited and quickly was disappointed with the battery life and basic app operation of Dyson 360 eye. In my opinion the robot is overrated. It's powerful but that is the only positive. The battery life is horrible, it takes too long to charge, and the unit is too small. It takes too long to complete a basic cycle because the unit has to keep recharging for at least 2.5 hours. The price is too high!! I returned the unit for its competitor. I prefer the competitor much better. Sorry Dyson, please go back to the drawing board with this one.

Hi, this is Aimee with Dyson. I am glad to hear you found the suction power of your 360 Eye to be powerful. The Dyson 360 Eye robot has a full width brush bar. When combined with the powerful suction from the DDM, the Dyson robot actually cleans wherever it goes on both hard floors and carpets. Other products have lower suction and some have narrower cleaning orifices, often placed between the wheels.

The run time of the product is up to 45 minutes. However, the cleaning time is theoretically indefinite, provided that the bin is emptied once it is full. The robot detects when it’s low on battery, returns to the dock to recharge then carries on where it left off. It will cover the entire accessible space, recharging when necessary.

Although you chose to return your 360 Eye, we would like to learn more of your experience. Please email us at [email protected], and include your contact information. We look forward to hearing from you.

Listen all these poor reviews are the uninformed. You should complete research for weeks and then after that research, some more just to make sure. Let me introduce (Timmy) My Dyson 360 Robot Vacuum. Timmy doesn't know how to take care of himself so don't leave him in the dark or he will get lost. Timmy is a great regarding suction and ease of clean up. You must keep Timmy smart or he will not understand how to navigate (Download Updates). Keep TIMMY CLEAN. If your investing this much in a product you should be treating it as if its worth what you paid. That said take caution when you pick Timmy up with your dirty nasty finger prints are all over the sensors in the handle bars. How would you feel if someone asked you to clean, while poking you in the eyes. Timmy is like an ADHD child when he starts, he picks sections in squares and sees more rooms to clean and starts heading that direction. This is ok! Just follow him to make sure he doesn't get stuck the first time around. Timmy is reading all the spaces to come to later after his next charge, just calm down and drink some tea. If you pick him up he will loss track of everything he just did. Timmy finish's what he can on the 45 minutes of charge. Then goes to sleep and will wake up and continue were he left off. Timmy thinks he's superman with his tank tracks, so he will attempt to clean a Rug, no matter how thick it is. Timmy doesn't know when he is full, but you paid for a product that has a clear container, do the math. If its not clear then pause and empty. I have 2,000 sqft wood floors, Timmy wakes up at 6am and begins his day where he left off before his last charge point was required. About 500sqft per charge. However, you have the option to take Timmy directly from the charger to a dirty area an press start and the area will get cleaned. Keep in mind when Timmy doesn't start directly from the charger his not going to remember the other locations he previously completed before the last charge. That's the price you pay for picking him up. Want to make him work faster? Get some nice cardboard pieces that are at 90 degree shape and make little borders so Timmy will not attempt to push forward. Cheap yes, but you always make the cardboard look better. More dyson updates to come out this month. Give it time and you'll see the reason why Dyson is still Elite when it comes to suction power and cleaning.

I have had this vacuum since it was first released, I loved it, it feels so durable and could make it up over the carpet transitions from the hard floor. It could climb like a tank. Well i stored it away for a bit. Well I recently pulled it back out cause my circumstances changed only to find out that the app for this vacuum has been updated for the new version and now my vacuum isn’t compatible with it so i have no visual of the activity and i cant set a timer for it to start. Contacted dyson and got nothing back. By the way i own all 3 dyson vacuums models. This is the reason for my low rating.

I own three dyson products and love them all. Two vacuums and a purifier heating/cooling fan. When I heard Dyson will come out with a robotic vacuum I was ecstatic because I thought I could finally put my roomba away. I ordered the eye robot the same day it was released. When the eye robot arrived I had issues with the wi fi like many other people have mentioned. But the reason I didn't like it and am disappointed in it is because the run time was short and took a while to charge. I have a german shepherd and two toddlers that make lots of messes, My living room area is 650 square feet and in the 45 minutes it wouldn't even get quarter of the space cleaned! It kept having to go back and charge and moved so slowly. Being a working mom to two toddlers and having a dog that sheds like crazy, the eye robot was not a good fit for us! The robot also wouldn't pick up higher pieces like cheerios for example. Oh and it's too tall to get under certain places of the kitchen. I do hope Dyson will work on some of these issues.

      Hello Diana,

Thank you for taking the time to review your Dyson 360 Eye. We’re thrilled to hear you love your current Dyson products and we truly appreciate our loyal customers. However, we’re disappointed to hear that you’ve encountered connection issues using your machine and it may not be a good fit for your needs.

You may be interested to know the run time of the product is up to 75 minutes. However, the cleaning time is theoretically indefinite, provided that the bin is emptied once it is full. The robot detects when it’s low on battery, returns to the dock to recharge then carries on where it left off. It will cover the entire accessible space, recharging when necessary.

In addition to this, the 360 Eye generates twice the suction of any robot vacuum. While it is an ideal solution for systematic whole-home cleaning, heavier pickups around the house may be better fit for a Dyson upright or canister.

We’d very much like to hear more about your experience and ensure your machine is performing as it should. Please don’t hesitate to email your contact information to [email protected] and we’re keen to get in touch and help out.

I have a lab that sheds a lot! So i decided to get a robot vacuum. Im a fan of dyson so ignored all the other reviews and went ahead and purchased the eye 360. Big mistake, heres why.. 1. Its loud, super loud 2. The battery life is not good. I gave this robot 5 days. And every single day it never made it back to its charging station. 3. It doesnt travel up my rug. And when it tried it would stall. Several times i came home to find my poor robot in dire need of help. 4. It doesnt fit under all surfaces 5. The cleaning pattern is not consistent. I will say the vacuum itself is strong, but would leave sections untouched. 6. Took me 3 days to be able to connect it to my wifi. On the third day i did call customer support and did get help :-) 7. Robot doesnt clean every room. At most it swept 270sqft of our 1100 sqft apt 8. Its over priced! At this price it should be flawless. I will say I returned my eye robot 360 today, it was a bad breakup. But i traded him in for our new roomba 890. Its much quiter, moves faster, and very easy set up.

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson 360 Eye. I am sorry to hear you are less than satisfied with your machine. When placing the charging station, it is recommended to place it in an area free of any other obstacles surrounding it and with adequate lighting so that the robot can find its way back to the dock as well as adequate lighting in the rooms to be cleaned to ensure it does not miss a surface.

Certain types of rugs will not work with the 360 Eye as the suction can cause the rug to lift up into the brush bar and obstruct movement.

We understand that you may have already returned your purchase. We would value the opportunity to address any questions or concerns you have as comments from consumers who use our products and services over time are very valuable to the development of future products. Please contact us at [email protected], include your name and contact information, and we will be glad to assist. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Unfortunately, this thing is terrible.

I've been waiting for the US release of the 360 Eye since it was revealed in, what, 2014? Aside from generally liking Dyson products, I also hate my Roomba and was excited about the prospect of Dyson stepping in and doing this category the right way. Unfortunately, the only thing it has been able to do successfully is make me appreciate my Roomba 880. Build quality is fantastic and the vacuum itself is best-in-class. Unfortunately, this is all rendered useless by the terrible software. * Initial setup of the wireless network failed multiple times, the unit just hangs. * Software updates failed via the app, I had to download the most recent firmware from the Dyson website and install it via USB. * The vacuum does not respond quickly to commands sent via the app * There is no way to guide the robot from the app * It gets stuck on everything. EVERYTHING. I have a Noguchi Cyclone table, and if I hadn't just dropped a grand on this thing, I'd be amused at how sad the lil robot looks trying to figure out how to get itself off of the shallow base. It's also fun watching it attempt to navigate from underneath a normal, boring chair. Most recently, it took over 5 minutes- which is a bummer given the relatively short battery life. * The battery just dies. The lil feller doesn't even have time to get back to its charging base. * It apparently takes around 3 hours to charge with a 45 minute run time, and having done that multiple times in the 24 hours that I’ve owned it, it has yet to successfully clean a single 400 square foot room. Kills me to say it, but do not buy this thing- yet. It hasn’t been officially available in the US for very long (early August, I believe), so the next update will be the first chance to apply whatever they’ve learned about US homes to their algorithms. Hopefully that gets released before my return window is up, because as it stands, this machine is definitely going back.

      Hello Carl,

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. This is disappointing to hear that your 360 Eye Robot has not met your needs and may have been returned. In addition to the 2 year warranty received with this machine we also have a team of experts that are dedicated to ensuring your robot is performing as it should. If there is a concern with the connection journey or anything performance related, we’re happy to support you and your machine over our helpline. Our 360 Eye Robot support line can be reached directly by calling 866-664-8997.

It is unusual to hear that the machine seems to be getting stuck frequently. When the environment is prepped for cleaning by removing obstacles, it is able to maintain a consistent cleaning path even when traversing different floor types thanks to the tank treads and suspension system. It is also designed to allow enough time to return to the dock before losing its charge.

We’d very much like to hear more about your experience and ensure your Dyson robot is performing as designed. Please feel free to e-mail your contact information to [email protected] and we’re keen to discuss further with you.

I personally find this vacuum to work great. I believe this has the best cleaning power out of any robot vacuum. The camera on the top really helps with no nonsense navigation. I do believe that the price is questionable compared to other but I got this vacuum so there can be something cleaning while I'm not home and I come home to a clean house. thats exactly what I wanted. My other alternative was hiring a maid so this is a good compromise. Everyones life is different but if you like me where you and your wife both have full time jobs and value their weekend time then cleaning up is the last thing on your mind. Its not perfect but I would say it does 90% of a total clean. I didn't expect it do everything like hard to reach corners or under my bed. Heck, my actual vacuum can't even do those areas without attaching the brush attachment. So in all things fairness I think its a great little vacuum.
