Customers consistently note the BP01 Pure Cool Me's effectiveness in improving air quality and its quiet operation. Many appreciate its compact size, making it suitable for smaller spaces, and the inclusion of a remote control and timer adds to its convenience. However, some customers find the price to be a significant drawback. The fan function and filter life are also frequently praised.

I wanted to find an alternative to using my A/C all the time, but Dyson’s products can be so expensive. I’ve had this fan/air purifier for a little over a month, and I love it! The settingS are great. The fan oscillates and has a timer. It’s fantastic. I highly recommend! I even travel with it.

I love the variety you can get with this air purifier. At night I have it on a lower setting and it’s very quiet, but during the day when I’m wanting to purify the air in my room I’ll turn it up, and it blows strong!

Nice air purifier I’ve been using for a few months now. It keeps the air clean in my room. I sleep with it turned on and it just feels refreshing to breathe with windows close preventing dust particles from entering. Happy purchase.

This is officially my first Dyson product I have ever purchased and so far I’m satisfied. This product is great. It projects a good amount of air and it’s purified. It’s also pretty quiet compared to a standard fan. Very unique. Great product!

I'm going to start with the one flaw I found, and that is the creaking noise that occasionally pops up every now and then when the purifier is rotating. I don't know what causes it, it seems to be random and a result of internal mechanics but it's not loud (I'm just a light sleeper). Besides that, this is a great product, even if a little over priced. The filter that came with it has lasted me for months and it's only half way through, that's with all the fires pollution. I do sometimes wish that I could rotate the fan vertically, but it blows at pretty much a straight angle towards where it's facing. Would highly recommend! Also, for those of you wondering, the light does automatically fade after 20 or 30 seconds so no worries about the light bothering you.

The Pure Cool Me personal air purifier is for those who want or need air purification in a specific area or small room. It's not a whole house or large room purifier. Ideally, it should be positioned close to where you need it and preferably on a raised surface like a desk or table. It comes with some really nice features. For starters, it has a replaceable HEPA filter inside the base. This is great for filtering out allergens and small particles. The build quality is as you would expect from Dyson, top notch. It feels well put together, no parts are loose or mis-aligned. There's a power push button right above the power entry connection on the back. After powering it up, you can use the included remote control to turn it on and off. The remote is magnetic and has a nice dedicated spot to store it right on the front of the purifier. There's also a nice display on the lower front, that displays the fan speed level typically and a graphic for the condition of the filter. The air flow direction out the top is adjustable, and you can force the air to point anywhere from upward to downward by just sliding the rounded white “lens” up or down. The remote control will allow you to control all the features available. The power button, as expected, will turn the unit on or off. There's a fan speed button to allow you to increase or decrease fan speed. A button to turn on the oscillation function, and a timer button that cycles through several choices for time limits that the purifier is on. Using this will allow you to save the filter life if you really don't need to keep it powered on all the time. It also has an information button that will show the state of the filter on the front panel display. The fan is quiet yet strong. You have ten speed settings to choose from. I found that anything above “6” will really kick out the air. This purifier works good in a bedroom, and is quiet enough to run while you're asleep. Air purifiers in general are difficult to measure the effectiveness of without some type of air analyzer (which I obviously don't have), but it does suck a fair amount of air through the HEPA filter and you can feel the breeze across the room if you have it on a higher setting. All in all it's a nice purifier. What's missing from it however is WiFi. There isn't any way to control it aside from the remote. If it had an app, like other Dyson purifiers, you could set on and off times, and monitor the condition of the filter among other things. It's not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice if they had included it. But, the purifier functions really well, has good solid basic features and is quiet. Great for personal use.

Dyson comes through again with another product that you would never want; until you get your hands on it and see it in person. This is a larger “desk” fan that has many features that you obviously won’t find on a cheaper desk fan. Features include a remote control, the ability to tilt the airflow up or down 45 degrees, an oscillation of 70 degrees, a built in sealed HEPA filter, timer controls up to 8 hours, a small color screen to monitor filter life, fan speed, and timer settings. You would think that the color screen would stay lit when you go to turn off the lights, but it has a built in “night mode” which turns off the screen when you turn off the lights in your room. I noticed the screen took about 1-2 seconds to go into Night Mode. One (possible) con about this fan, is that the remote control is the only way to change your settings. The only physical button is the power button in the back above the power cord placement. If your remote control breaks or you lose it, then you can’t change any settings on the fan itself. However, the remote control has a magnet built into it and there is another magnet on the front of the fan that holds the remote. You place the remote with the buttons facing against the fan base to get it to stay there. The fan speed has a range of 1 to 10; being controlled entirely through the remote. The highest setting does push a lot of air and can be a little loud, especially if you have this running on your nightstand when you sleep. I tested this out on 8 and it wasn’t too loud or too quiet. I am also a deep sleeper, so light sleepers may need to adjust the speed down even more. The tilt of the fan is easily adjusted by moving the “center” of the fan up or down. You will see an opening at the bottom or top and this is where the air will come from. I could easily feel the airflow from my bed, which kept me cool all night. There is an information button on the remote that gives you the status of the HEPA filter. This lets you know when the filter needs to be replaced. The circular double arrow button turns the oscillation on and off, which rotates at 70 degrees. The oscillation itself is not noisy at all, I couldn’t even tell it was on until I looked at the fan itself. Cheaper fans can get very noisy with oscillation, but this is not the case. I don’t have too many complaints about this product and how it works, but there are two things that stand out to me. The first complaint I have is the cost. Most people are not going to spend a lot of money on a fan like this. If you suffer greatly from allergies, I can see someone spending the money to buy this. It does filter and push out very clean air and you aren’t getting hit in the face with dust/dirt/allergens/etc. The second complaint is the power cord adapter; good lord is this thing huge! I have a small surge protector that I use in my bedroom and I had to resort all of my plugs to get them all to fit. Obviously, a bigger surge protector is the answer, but I wanted to see if I could keep everything on one. If you’re plugging it into a wall outlet, you may fair better with this, but it most likely depends on how small your wall outlets are. Overall, even though I am very satisfied with this product, we know that most people will not go out and spend the money on a fan like this. I do recommend this product, especially if you’re looking for a fan that cleans the air it pushes and offers a ton of awesome new technology, but for someone who doesn’t want to spend this amount of money, you’ll probably just stick with a regular cheap fan.

This is a very "typical" Dyson device. Very unusual, and very pricey. I purchased this mostly because I wanted a small room fan near my bed and liked the purification function. I have a few other dyson products and enjoy them. The only thing I wish is that there was a bit more information on how the purification is going. You really don't have any idea how much of the air is being cleaned. I like the unusual way to point the air. The unit is near silent at the lower settings, and ramps up as you turn it up. It's very well built and the remote attaches via magnet when not using it. I think it's doing a good job, but I can't tell for sure! Overall it's a nice compact unit that's well built. As long as you get over the Dyson price premium it's worth it!

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Dyson BP01 Pure Cool Me™. We're happy to hear that in your use, you've been overall pleased with the aesthetic and performance from your Dyson. The Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan is specifically developed for personal cooling and purification. It’s not designed to project cooling and purified airflow around the whole room, which sets it apart from the rest of the range. Whereas the existing purifying fans and heaters can purify and heat a whole room, Dyson Pure Cool Me™ is designed to deliver a focused stream of purified air to an individual and gives you control over the immediate space around you. The Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan projects cooling airflow that you can direct precisely where you want it, without affecting others. The coverage of the airflow of this machine is approximately an arm’s length around you.

Purified air is directed out of Dyson Pure Cool Me™ through two apertures. The two jets of air meet over a convex dome and are projected towards you in one focused stream, using a new method of air projection called Dyson Core Flow technology. The dome acts like a solid wall, forcing the air upwards and away from the surface. With nowhere else to go, the jets are forced to steer around it and converge into one focused stream of air. By using the convex dome to change the angle of the airflow, Dyson engineers found a way to seamlessly refocus the air. So you can direct the air wherever you want it. In addition to directing air flow wherever you want it, you can set your machine to oscillate from side to side, to deliver airflow through a 70˚ range. This can be controlled using the remote control, which will also have a magnet to store directly onto the machine itself. The Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan has also been acoustically designed to be as quiet as possible, with streamlined air channels for reduced airflow turbulence. It has a high sound quality that produces a comfortable tone for the human ear without a compromise of performance. At minimum setting, the noise is almost inaudible to the human ear. We'd value the opportunity to go over your Dyson with you to help ensure you're getting the best from your machine. Please consider emailing us directly at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

      Best wishes,
      Kelly

I purchased this fan to help me stay cool since I now have to work from home. I sit this fan on my desk to directly cool my face as I am working and it is amazing. My body temperature typically runs hot and I have had to turn this off a few times because it has kept me a little too cool, if there is such a thing. This is my third Dyson product. I have purchased their vacuums in the past and this product is built with similar high qualities as their vacuums. The bonus is that this fan helps purify the air as well. This is definitely worth every penny.

This was purchased for use in my teen son's bedroom. His room is a little warmer than anywhere in the house , and he's a warm person. The fan runs quietly, as advertised. We also really like the fact that it is an air purifier as well. He will be dorming in college in another year and this has the power necesary for the size of the largest of dorm rooms. If you're looking, this is what you should be looking for!

As with anything designed and produced by Dyson, this Cool Me fan meets and exceeds all expectations. It is quiet, but very effective. Multiple speeds, sleep timer, remote control. And the air is directed in a very specific narrow area, so that I can have all the benefit without worrying about disturbing the “cooler natured” members of the household. It’s pricey, but it helps me get a good night’s sleep, and that is worth every penny to me!
