But marketing for this product is bogus. It’s only cool if the air in the room is cool and it won’t cool a room. It is a expensive personal fan with little benefit but the attempt to cool the air by blowing fast. Living in the SF Bay Area we don’t get many hot days but this year we had a week above 95-102. This fan did nothing and I took it back the very next day after purchase.

Purified air is directed out of Dyson Pure Cool Me through two apertures. The two jets of air meet over a convex dome and are projected towards you in one focused stream, using a new method of air projection called Dyson Core Flow technology. The dome acts like a solid wall, forcing the air upwards and away from the surface. With nowhere else to go, the jets are forced to steer around it and converge into one focused stream of air. By using the convex dome to change the angle of the airflow, Dyson engineers found a way to seamlessly refocus the air. So you can direct the air wherever you want it. In addition to directing air flow wherever you want it, you can set your machine to oscillate from side to side, to deliver airflow through a 70˚ range. This can be controlled using the remote control, which will also have a magnet to store directly onto the machine itself.

When it is turned on it has a terrible vinegar smell. I can not figure out what it is. It is very loud even on a low setting. It was not worth the price at all.

Does Make Room Seem Fresher

The airflow can be redirected and act as a fan as well which is a nice feature. There is a remote that controls the device. You can set it to run for a certain length of time. It is a slick looking gadget that will not distract from any office or room decor.

This fan is just what I needed for a bit of relief. It does have a fairly large footprint for a personal fan, but it is really quiet and the air flow can be aimed really precisely. It's even really quiet when oscillating. What's really awesome is that it provides a noticeable relief for the dust and allergens in the air, just making a pleasant oasis at my desk. I'd really recommend this if you have special air needs at your desk, especially if you tend to feel warmer than the other people around you, it does cool me off nicely.

It’s supposed to be cool, right? It’s in the title. We ended up returning it because even on the highest setting it barely puts out any air and it’s definitely not cool. It might feel good when it’s pointed on you but it’s definitely only for a single person to blow directly on their face. We ended up returning it.

With regard to cooling the air, our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

I"m going to make this short and sweet I suffer from allergies that most people don't. I also don't suffer from most that people normal do. I have had the chance to really use this Dyson hardcore. It really works well . I notice the room its in has less dust particles and I wake up with less issues. I have not had an issue with my allergies acting up nor any excess dust. Its I like the remote and its built in swivel functions. The only con I can give it is that on the swivel function it has a certain vibration frequency that I can hear and feel if its not place a surface that can absorb the vibration. Lucky at night I use it as a noise to aid me going to sleep. Its small and compact but works in a good size room i us it in. 13*26 foot room.

Once you move to either side, the efficiency diminishes considerably. I live in a tiny house (700 sq ft) but really wanted an air purification system without the $$$$ of the systems installed into an hvac system. I have several cats and dogs, and was hoping this would help with the “pet smell” in my rather small bedroom where the pets often take naps. It works extremely well as I outlined above. Its portability however makes it extremely versatile. My wife and I have it on in the living room while we watch movies, and it filters the air perfectly when the cats’ decide to use their box. For that, this little dyson has earned its keep.

The remote is small and compact which is nice but for night use there is no backlight or prominent features for the buttons, I'm not sure why Dyson left this out. However it works fantastic! The filtration is phenomenal, my old dog has a tendency to gas us out, even with the ceiling fan on. I run it at night on the floor and have it oscillating and haven't had my nose accosted since I set it up. It does seem a bit noisy but overall I am very satisfied. I love the screen, it reminds me of the Nest screen and is super clean. Overall it looks like a trash can, the remote is meh, it blows loads of air if you need it and it can remove odors that are unfriendly.

Their typical "loop" design that only purified a portion of the air flow is gone, replaced by this "ball" design that issues a fully-purified stream of air. It was super easy to unbox and get running. There's a power button in the back, but everything else is done via the remote that conveniently attaches (magnetically) to the front. The small circular display on the front showed the fan speed in numbers, as well as the various time options for automatic delayed shutoff. When I hit the "info" button I was pleasantly surprised to get a fancy little graphic showing how to access the filter, then a fuel-type gauge showing how much filter life is left. I thought that was a very nice touch. The fan can be set to oscillate through 70 degrees and the flow can be pointed up or down through 45 degrees. It's relatively quiet compared to a traditional blade fan, and a whole lot safer if you have little kids or curious cats around. I wish it had a "reverse flow" option like some of the Dyson models so you could filter the air in the winter time when you don't really want a fan cooling you down. I'm also a little concerned about how often the filter may need to be changed. At $60-$70 each, that can be a significant expense. Other Dyson models mention filters lasting a year given an average of 12 hours of use per day, so if that's the case it wouldn't be too bad. Other than that, it's a great personal-size fan that I know we'll like and use all the time.

Not just an ordinary fan!

The special Dyson technology makes the air shoot out like a jet engine at the high levels and at lower levels a nice soothing breeze, either way it surprisingly cools you down much better than a regular fan. The important part is you really have to direct this right at yourself or it will not work as well, so don't try to cool an entire room with this product. Not sure yet how well the air purifier works, but if you have this pointed at your face it does feel like much cleaner air than a regular fan produces. Honestly, it is totally worth the price tag if for some reason you cannot have an air conditioner.
