My wife and I have two kids, a dog, and five cats, so we needed a good vacuum. Our last Dyson finally gave up the ghost (after about 4 years of heavy use) and we were able to get a good deal on this model. Things I really like about this vacuum: --Sufficiently long cord --Good filtration --Great suction --The attachments that lock on to the wand. Can't really think of any negatives.

A vacuum cleaner is hardly the kind of purchase you expect to call "fun" or "enjoyable," but it took only a few seconds of use to understand why this became the best-selling brand in the UK in less than two years from its launch. I had never used a Dyson before, but I became an immediate fan. That enthusiasm hasn't waned a bit in the months since. In brief, this appliance is so efficient that it a real pleasure to use. It doesn't drag, but rather glides smoothly across a carpet. After thoroughly vacuuming an entire apartment, the air is distinctly cleaner than at the start, with no dust showing up on shelves or other surfaces. The build quality is excellent. This is a very rugged piece of equipment, with perfect fit and finish, yet it's not heavy. The cord is commercial length, very rare on a consumer vacuum, so it has tremendous reach. Even the process of emptying the canister is so simple and so well thought out that it still raises a smile. For anyone with pets, allergies, or other special cleaning needs, this is the one to choose.

Had always heard Dyson made excellent vacuums.. Always wanted to try one, but wasn't always ready to pay the price. Found this one on sale & decided to give it a go. I LOVE IT! It has great ease of use, cleans any surface, has great power and is easy to store. Bottom line: I would recommend to anyone.

I love it! My mother and aunt both have a dyson that I have used and loved. I found an awesome deal at best buy and finally bought one. I am so glad I did! Even my husband, who is not impressed by much, used it the other day and mentioned just how superior it is to any vacuum we've owned prior.

Held off buying a Dyson. Price was too high compared to other options on market. Bought this when it was put on a discontinued sale for under $200. Good buy for price. Great power for dirt and dog hair. Much heavier to move it around than competition. Overall a great buy at the sale price.

I love this vacuum cleaner . It picks up great and has a really nice long cord. Love not having to buy bags The attachments are great with the really long hose. And for me I love purple, so the color was an added bonus.

Always been a canister vacumn gal because the uprights seemed to be heavier and more awkward to handle. This one is heavier than my canister but is easier to handle than the uprights I've tried. I have 2 different rug types and also bare floors and it handles all well.

At first I was hesitant about buying a dyson. They're expensive. But I finally found one on sale on Best Buy, and I finally bought one. I have absolutely no regrets about that decision. It was so easy to put together. LIterally just clicking pieces together. I did discover the hard way that the dirty canister works where the bottom opens, even though you're clicking a button on the top, but that was my fault for not reading. And the vacuum easily cleaned that mess up as well. Everytime I use it, it's like having a new carpet. It makes everything so clean and soft again. It works without any trouble. It's true...it never loses suction. It just keeps going and going. Cat litter? No problem. Dried stuff on the carpet from children? No problem. Cat hair? Not even an issue with this vacuum. I don't think there's anything this vacuum cannot handle. I would recommend a dyson to ANYONE, despite the hefty price tag.

I got the Dyson DC28 Animal from Best Buy online for $279.99 in early February. The vacuum my family had when I was a kid was a large metal Kirby, which was very strong but also very heavy. My new Dyson DC28 Animal has just as much suction power as the Kirby but is much lighter and less expensive. We first used the Dyson vacuum three days after vacuuming the medium-pile house-wide carpets with our cheap Hoover; the Dyson picked up a noticeable amount left behind by the Hoover. Next I used the hose attachments on our dark microfiber sofa, where my large tan greyhound sneaks onto and leaves his fur. With just a few sweeps all the fur was gone! The Dyson DC28 Animal is so strong and with twice-a-week vacuumings our carpets look wonderfully clean. I only have two things for potential buyers to note: 1) this model does not have the "Dyson ball" feature that other Dyson owners love (this has not been an issue for me); 2) it could be my user error, but I found that the bagless canister and hose handle attachment sometimes do not fit snugly when you reattach them. For the price I paid, this is a really superb vacuum!

Suction is stupendous! It pulls the carpet pile so erect that you can follow our 40# basset tracks across the carpet afterward. Seems much heavier than our previous Dyson & difficult to operate on stairs. As will all Dysons, the canister (bagless feature) is an efficient way to rid your home of floor debris.

Purchased this vacuum for my church and it works great on both large and small spaces. Lots of options and attachments. Very easy to assemble and has a VERY long cord (which is a must). This unit was on sale and so far smokes all other vacuums I have used.

It is light for its size and easy to use. It picks up hair and dirt better than any other I have owned. I love the stair attachment and the attachments. I would highly recommend this machine. I love it being bag less and very easy to empty without a mess.

I wanted a new vacuum cleaner...this vacuum cleaner seemed like it would be the perfect one for me...but it wasn't... I am physically strong and this vacuum cleaner was too hard for me to push across the carpet when it was turned on...it formed a suction on my flat industrial grade carpet and the suction was so great you couldn't hardly get it to move forward... I called Dyson...and she had me trying all the different settings from low, medium, high, and bare floor...not much luck on either setting..but the high pile setting seemed to work the best of the 4 possible settings...it was still hard to push though... I tried using the vacuum cleaner three different times in a two week period...but I knew that I would not be able to continue to using it... A health concern: I am right handed and my right hand, arm, shoulder, and the right side of my head would hurt after each of the three times that I vacuumed because of the difficulty in pushing the vacuum cleaner across the carpet with that strong suction on the carpet....

Best vacuum I've owned. The suction is great. Cleans carpet and gets my dog hair and dirt out like I never had before. I would recommend this to anyone with a pet. I love the attachments that are easy to work and makes cleaning easy and fast.

I've owned several different Dyson vacuums. This is the strongest suction ive seen in their machines. The wand easily pulls out to reach high places or corners and edges of the room... Thank goodness because this vacuum cleaner DOESN'T DO THE EDGES!!! That's right... It is useless on the edges. Too bad!... It's really the ONLY flaw! It's cord is really long... As is the hose... It can switch from bare floor to low, med, or high pile carpet in a second... SO WHY CAN'T IT CLEAN THE EDGES? A mystery!

This Dyson is a replacement for one that was stolen...I love the vacuum. Great suction and the choices of different types of carpets, wood floors and a selection for cleaning stairs, in corners and ceilings is great!

This vacuum gets pet hair in a single pass. It is easy to push and adjust to the different types of floors. The cord is long enough to plug in once per room, even in a large room. It is easy to clean when finished.

The vacuum has great suction and picks up dirt that our old vacuum did not. The telescoping hose is convenient. The only drawback is that there is no 'headlight' for dark areas and the unit is heavy.

This was our second Dyson animal vacuum. We have a golden retriever that sheds a lot so we need to vacuum frequently. This one works great. We had an issue with our old one after 4-5 years, so we bought another one. The new one stopped working and without realizing that the hose was plugged, we called customer service. They were exceptional! They walked us through correcting the problem. I told them about our old one not working properly and she told us how to correct that problem and sent us a whole new canister and filter for free. My daughter is delighted that we fixed the old one so she can use it. I love that the company stands behind their products.

It's a bit heavy to push but so much easier than my old canister vac. Good suction. Gets all that dog hair. I got it on a good sale so the price wasn't too bad. Full price is probitive.
