We bought this vacuum because it was a fantastic sale (for a Dyson), we needed a new vacuum, and we had heard great things from our friends and family who own Dysons. We are now believers. I had just thoroughly vacuumed our house on a Sunday, and the Dyson arrived on a Wednesday. Somehow, I managed to fill the canister two times after vacuuming only three rooms. I was amazed and disgusted at the same time. It continues to pull an impressive amount of crud out of our carpet each time we use it. Did I mention that we even had our carpets professionally cleaned just a couple months prior? If only I could use one of the attachments directly on the cat...

This vacuum really picks everything out of my carpet and hard floor. I have to empty the canister often.

Dyson products are always wonderful quality and this is no different. The suction on this is so strong you may have trouble using it! That is it's strong and it's weak point however. It has such strong suction it does a fantastic job but you have to be pretty strong yourself to handle it. It is definitely a great choice for people with animals and is aptly named because this lightweight hard working little vacuum is an animal! I've used Dyson products for over 10 years now with no problems. I will never own anything other than Dyson again.

I love this vacuum, it does so much better than any vacuum I have ever owned or used. I was super impressed when it picked up all the dog hair from under the bed. The attachment is easy to use and keeps contact with the floor all the way across under a queen sized bed. Adding or removing attachments is easy--clean up is even easier! Simple to use, does a fantastic job. See what your old vacuum is missing instantly with first use....you will be so glad you got this dyson. Best Buy has the best price and best warranty anywhere--Bar NONE!!

Bought this vacuum on black Friday for 399.00$+ free shipping which makes this a five star machine in my opinion. If I had paid full price my value for price rating would probably have been lower, but all other categories would have remained five stars. Very pleased with the performance of this vacuum. As other have stated,the first time you use this vacuum tells the story .it replaced a Hoover wind tunnel vacuum which I thought was adequate ,but I couldn't believe dirt The Dyson picked up the first couple of times I used it.

I think this is a great value for my money. Easy to use. Easy to empty. Deep cleans.

I'd heard all the hype about the Dyson vacuums being the best. In our family, we've used everything from Rainbow, Kirby, Eureka, Hoover, and Dirt Devils. As it turns out, the hype about Dysons is not just hype. This vacuum has a built in hose for the hard to reach areas, easy to clean/change filters, and onboard storage for the attachments. As far as power goes, it beats all of the other brands we've used in the past. My wife thinks this is the best purchase we've made in a long time.

As many of the other reviews say, this vacuum is amazing! Buy it! Some of the small features like the long extension cord are a pain to wind back up. The place to put your foot on the vacuum to crank it back to start vacuuming is in a funny spot to me. But, overall this vacuum is absolutely worth it! We did the vacuum test like the other reviewers did and vacuumed right after we had used our old vacuum. I couldn't believe the amount of cat hair and dust it pulled up. Buy this vacuum!

Our dog sheds a lot and the old Hoover just wouldn't get the hair out of the berber carpet no matter how many time you went over it so, rather than get rid of the dog, we bought this and were, and still are amazed at how much it picks up each time we vacuum. Well worth the money. (We love our dog) and our Dyson Animal!

Purchased at a discount but at any price it is definitely worth it! Just need to make sure it is set on the right setting for the floor as it has very very strong suction. We have two dogs and it has no problem getting every last bit of dirt, hair, crumbs and dander that they leave in the carpeting. It actually smells cleaner in the room after vacuuming, not like wet dirty dogs like our old bag vacuum would make the room smell like afterwards.

I bought this vacuum on a "deal of the day" offer at a great price. I always wanted a Dyson, but couldn't afford one. Buy.com came through. It really is a powerful vacuum. We have big dogs that shed a lot, so we needed a vacuum that could handle the task. This one does the job. It sucked up a LOT of dog hair. The last vacuum I had, the hair kept getting clogged up in the hose line. No problems with this one. It's my favorite vacuum ever.

Our six year old Dyson had its clutch go out and we noticed BBY had this model on clearance for about 50% off the original retail price. Per other reviews, the Dyson "ball" just wasn't going to be durable enough for heavy use, thus, we purchased this unit. We have been more than pleased with its ability to fully clean our carpets. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and this Dyson makes short order of vacuuming throughout the house. When taking upstairs, it is lighter than our old unit, and maneuvers much better. Additional options for thickness of carpet make it a breeze to use, and it works just as well on our hard surfaces. The rotating furniture/stairs brush is great [it didn't work so well on the previous unit], and the crevice/dusting brush duo is an interesting feature. While the electric cord is more than long enough, the hose and wand attachment still needs to be refined to provide easier reach to high spots and make using the "under furniture" attachment less stressful. Over all, a great investment at less than $300. Added the GSP so if something does go wrong in the next three years, I'll receive a new one with little fuss. This is a great buy at a great price. Highly recommended!

Had been looking to buy a new vacuum and done many comparisons on brands. Initially wanted a Dyson, but the reviews seemed somewhat sketchy...nothing consistent however I still kept going back to the product. Best Buy had a sale for $100 off the price and I figured that was my sign. I left work that Friday evening, went into the store looking for the product...they had 2 left so I left with my new vacuum!!! I'm definitely not the most crafty person and it said only "two clicks" and it's together. Pretty sure anyone could figure out the clicks...took me a while as I was impatient and the pictures weren't descriptive enough for me (blonde moments), but I GOT IT!!! I've vacuumed a ton, used the extension tools and it cleans up the cat hair on the floor/furniture amazingly!!! Best on a whim purchase I ever made!!!

I'm totally out flabbergasted by the amount of dirt that this vacuum is able to pull out my carpets with each use. It makes me wonder what my previous vacuums were actually doing. I would highly recommend this product. It is a little difficult to use on rugs because the suction is so tight, But with a few minor adjustments of the head as instructed by the instructions it takes care the problem. I am 100% happy so far!!

I had my doubts, but after my 1 year old vacuum broke, I decided to try a Dyson. I can't believe it, but I REALLY love this vacuum! It does so much better than my other vacuum that I can hardly believe it. I would DEFINITELY recommend it! As a bonus - the cord is super-long so I can vacuum a lot without changing the plug location.

This is our second DC28 Animal. These are not as loud as other vacuums and they are good for dog hair. Apparently they are replacing these with the other Dyson models and do not show up in the current Consumer reports, but in their day they were a top rated vacuum in Consumer reports. They are the best one that we have had.

Having owned a Dyson previously, when I needed a vacuum for another location I already knew what I was going to purchase. These vacuums are almost indestructable (survived a stairway fall). And as advertised, never lose suction power. They do a great job picking up dog hair as well as every day dirt. The only negative feature is, as this is a larger model, it is a little cumbersome.

We had a Kirby. It cleaned well but was a pain to haul around because of its weight. The Dyson is lighter in weight, bag less, and has much greater suction power. I would recommend it to anyone. Be careful if you have new carpeting though. I read somewhere that Dyson vacuums void carpet warranties because they are so powerful that they can sometimes cause damage in looped carpetings.

This vacuum is amazing, and I actually enjoy vacuuming now. It picks up so much dust and dog hair, my allergies have improved! The attachment can be difficult to maneuver because it is a little stiff, but it does what I need it to. Some of my dog's hair still gets stuck in the brush (she has long sheltie fur). But, it is still a significant improvement from the last vacuum I bought!
