I have wanted this vacuum for for several years and was finally able to purchase it because it was on clearance. I just couldn't pass on the sale price with taxes it was right a $300.00. It is a great vacuum, before I bought mine I would get my mothers Dyson and re-vacuum my home with it after cleaning and vacuuming with a good name brand vacuum. It was amazing how much dirt a regular vacuum leaves on the floor and carpets that you don't notice. Although right after vacuuming the house i used the Dyson and the canister filled up twice before I completed my home (which is not large only 3 bedrooms). That was when I fell in "love". I will never purchase another name brand vacuum other than Dyson. I could have paid for the Dyson four times over just with the vacuums that we have gone thru, they either stopped working or lost suction, I wish I had never thrown that money away and just bought a Dyson in the first place.

This vacuum is a victim of its own hype in that it's fallen short of my expectations. Overall I'm happy with it, but I'm even happier that I bought it on sale rather than at full price. The suction is better than any vacuum I've ever owned, but at the same time that its suction strength makes this vacuum difficult to use with throw rugs, there are times when multiple passes are needed to get all the dirt. My biggest complaint is that the hose & wand feature is awkward to use. The hose isn't very long & doesn't stretch out well, and the inflexible wand is long so using it in tight spaces is near impossible. Other cons: it's loud, doesn't fit under furniture without switching to a brushless attachment.

Great vacuum. Suction is excellent. Instructions could be better. Took us a few days to figure out how to work all the parts. Wish it had a retractable hose but other than that I have no complaints.

I had originally purchased the DYSON DC 25 Ball for animals, and it was maneuverable but after 6 months I started to notice a significant drop off in cleaning power. I followed DYSON's customer service suggestions, but it just wasn't as good as it was when brand new. I happened to see that there was a DC 28 for sale as an open box, and to my surprise I was allowed to swap one for the other, even Steven. The first thing I noticed was the DC 28 is built more like a commercial vacuum. Quality parts throughout. The selector buttons were a much appreciated upgrade, but DYSON says that the beater bar is virtually self adjusting. I tested that theory, and well, I am happy to have the convenience of the selector buttons. The next thing that I noticed was the POWER. This thing is a beast. I researched and found that the ball does not guarantee a full 12 amps suction, but between 9.5 and 11 amps. The extra power was appreciated and noticeable. This vacuum picked up the carpet nap, which was was was missing with the DC 25. I don't know about anyone else, but when I vacuum my carpets I like that plush feeling under my feet. The wand extends to a full 17 feet! and man does that come in handy. Also the power cord is 35 feet as opposed to 21 feet in the DC25. Keep in mind that this machine is a little heavy and not as maneuverable as the 'Ball", but for me the benefits outweigh the convenience of the DC 25. I had vacuumed my living room before bringing my old DC25 in to be repaired. I mean who knew how long it would be before I got it back, right? For the fun of it I vacuumed my living room when I got home and I was SHOCKED to see the amount of dirt that the DC25 left behind, thus reinforcing my decision to upgrade to the DC28. I am pleased with the quality and the job the DC28 does, and I think that you will be too.

I cannot express how much I love this vacuum! This is our second one and I will continue to buy this product over and over again! My entire family uses dyson and they all love. If you haven't tried this vacuum...you only think you have a clean floor.

This was a bargin purchase after black Friday. I am very satisfied with the performance of this sweeper. I particularly like that all the tools are 'on board' and you can just lift the hose out of the handle. Great feature, no hose or tools to store.

I have purchased in the last 20 years 11 vacumes and have had no luck with them whatsoever!! They usually don't have the suction and longevity that I need. My new home has carpet and hardwood floors and this vacume is making life easy. I was so horrified with the amount of dirt etc that I could see the first time I used it. It was picking up things that other vacumes had left behind. Love, Love, Love it....and love how easy it is to put together and empty the cannister when it is filled.

We have had a Miele for years and been generally pleased with it. The Dyson blows away the Miele with what it can pick up, though. We have 2 Shelties (lots of dog hair and dander) and the first time I vacuumed our living room rug with the Dyson, I had to empty the dust bin twice - amazing!

I have used Dyson before. Gave it to my son and bought a new one. I really like this vac for all over the house. On carpet and on stairs and bare floors. Not very heavy and can carry up and down stairs. Would recommend to all ages.

I purchared the dc-28 because i have pets. I broke my hip shortly after purchase and am unable to use due to how heavy it is and the hose is very hard to pull. I would recommend to this to most people . It does a wonderful job it's just very awkward for me

I got a great deal and I am very pleased with this Dison, I have an older model I leave upstairs. Both work very well.

This is a great vacuum, I got it on sale so at first I was undecided weather i wanted to get it or not, but after using it for the first time I realize it was worth every penny. Overall great vacumm.

The great thing next to slice bread.my son has a better time managing his allergies cause this dyson picks up all dirt and dust and whatever else is in its way.believe this is well worth the money.

I love this vacuum. I have two cats and a dog. This vacuum will remove all the animal hair from our couches which has been a challenge in the past. I would recommend this vacuum to all pet owners.

Not like any vacuum, after this vacuum I don't think ill ever go back to a normal vacuum. I do wish it was a bit lighter but overall not to bad. Picks up things a normal vacuum will not pick up.

We love Dyson. It is a reliable brand that really does what it says it will do! Great suction and the carpeted area looks almost new after we vacuumed with it. Wouldn't want another brand…ever!

My brother has owned one of these for a long time, and I have always really liked it, so when I saw it on clearance for $279.99, I just couldn't pass it up! This thing is one awesome vacuum!

It is the best vacuum I have ever owned. We have 2 cats and it picks up all the hair and you don't have to keep vacuuming over and over. The attachment for the hard floors is great!!!

Has great suction. Have another type of vacuum I've been using for years. I was embarrassed what my bedroom picked up with this Dyson.
