This thing is awesome. Its light weight and powerful. The way the dirt canister opens can be a little awkward but it just takes a little getting used to. The battery life highly depends on whether or not you are using the unit on MAX power. It runs about 15 min on max. So depending on how big your house is it might take you a couple charges. We love this thing for our hardwood floors.

In terms of power, this is the best vacuum I've ever owned. It picks up an amazing amount of dirt, which you can easily see collecting in the transparent dust canister. It's very compact and lightweight, and I love that it converts from a slim full size to a handheld. It comes with several attachments, which suffice for most purposes, although I did buy the Allergy Kit for the handy mattress and flexi-crevice tools. The only major downsides are battery life and price. I'm using this as the primary vacuum for my apartment so maybe my expectations are high, but the 15-20 minute charge is probably fine for the small jobs and maintenance cleaning for which the machine was largely intended. Dyson seems to keep tight price control on the retailers, and discounts off the $399 list price are rare. But thanks to unexpected competitor sales on both the vacuum and Allergy Kit, I was able to get a significant discount through Best Buy's price match and reward certificates. I wouldn't have bought it at full retail but feel it's worth the price I paid, especially given the generous two-year warranty.

I read many review before deciding to buy this vacuum. I have tons of pet hair, and I went with the motorhead unit to get more brush power to get more hair. This vacuum works very well and I have plenty of battery life to use it how I want to use it. This doesn't completely replace my Dyson upright, but I didn't intend for it to. I use this vacuum to spot clean when I see clumps of hair, or I spill something. It is quick and easy to just go grab this vacuum rather than unroll a cord and plug in the upright. Using the wand and tools, it is very easy to clean cobwebs from ceiling corners and baseboards. Suction power is great, and when you use the "max" mode is really does suck (in a good way!). Though max mode will really cut down your battery life.

I just moved into a new condo that is has all hardwood floors on my first floor, so I desperately wanted a lightweight vacuum that I could use on a regular basis - my Eureka vacuum is good but heavier and not ideal for daily use. This Dyson is fantastic! Yes, you only get about 20 minutes on a charge, but it's great for a quick pickup. And the power is amazing, I use it on hardwood floor AND wool rugs and it cleans equally well for both! I've already been recommending it to family and friends!

This cordless stick vacuum is very nice. I use mine for quick touch ups during the week, especially in the kitchen, entry and bathrooms and baseboards. It is really nice to not have to deal with the cord. I also use mine on the stairs. I've struggled for years trying to find a good tool for the stairs. The Dyson V6 is perfect for stairs; it is cordless, light weight, easy to maneuver and suction is very good. The only con is the battery time, but who wants to vacuum for more than 15 minutes anyway....;) I've already recommended to several people. In addition to what I use it for, I think it would make a perfect vacuum for those in a dorm or apartment.

Lots of power, light and great design. The unit was so excellent we bought a second one for the property we own in the keys. The battery life is the only challenge however you can work around it. The ease of cleaning each time you use it, the weight is light so walking up steps is a non event, the power is unreal. You clean with the standard vacuum, use the over the same stop and you cannot believe what it picks up. Great for pet hair.

This is a great vacuum. You get what you pay for with this. I feel that it was very expensive, and I didn't enjoy the cost, but what I got I am very happy with. Being that there is no cord, it makes vacuuming very easy and very quick. It's suck is too powerful for one of my rugs so one downside is that it can't switch heights that I am aware of but every where else it's top notch.

This unit is small and light but don't be fooled, it's got lots of power. The battery doesn't last a whole lot so don't expect to clean the entire house at once. We use the small unit for spot cleaning and use a big dyson on those days we clean the house. These machines are expensive but last a long time.

I bought this to use in my RV. Great machine. It will pickup almost anything. It is light weight and easy to use and to change attachments. The only issue is the short battery life and when it runs out...done...no warning. It doesn't lag or indicate the battery is getting low, it just shuts off suddenly. Fix that and this is a GREAT product.

I wanted to replace an old Hoover that was bulky, heavy and leaked dust all over the place. I have bad allergies and am really sensitive to dust so I wanted to see if this would help. This Dyson is super compact and light so you can vacuum a room much quicker than with the old vac. It works equally well on carpet, tile and hardwood floors. I couldn't believe how much dirt it pulled out of a presumably 'clean' carpet. Amazing! Also you can change accessories or remove the central tube and use it as a portable hand-held to do dusting, upholstery, blinds and even the car. Having no cord is an additional bonus and makes cleaning tasks so much quicker. Emptying the dust bucket is simple and quick too. I liked it so much I got another as a gift for our Mom, who also loves it.

Very lightweight, easy to use in various areas of the house. Love that you can switch out the attachments so you can clean your car. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight, cordless vacuum. Only downside is that the battery doesn't last very long, but for me, that's not really an issue.

I love my Dyson V6 Motorhead vacuum. It's cordless and lightweight so can go anywhere in the house or be used to vacuum out a vehicle. The suction is good and it's easy to empty the canister. It cleans up dirt and dust on my hardwood floors way better than my old vacuum since it's lower to the floor. It does have a harder time with bigger objects (like cereal for example) so I take off the cleaner head for that. I do wish they made the trigger so you could lock it in place instead of having to squeeze it the whole time. I rarely use the max power button but it's nice to have, tho it does wear down the battery quickly. Charging is simple in the docking station and the charge usually lasts me long enough to vacuum my whole main floor (if I don't use max power). If it does die on me the charge time is fairly quick, 3 hours for a full charge.

This vacuum has great power for its little size. It is easy to use, and the attachments are quick to change. This vacuum is a 9 out of 10. It would be a 10, but the battery is limited due to the strength of the vacuum and its little size.

Vacuum is very powerful and picks up so much. Couldn't believe the amount of dirt in the canister. Vacuum is very easy to use; like having attachments hanging right on it. Like the fact that it can be made into a small handheld vacuum. Light weight. Like not having a cord dragging behind.

Dyson always in the leading industry from innovations and performances perspective. Does this one live up to its standard? Well, it's light and small for easy maneuvering around. It's cordless for convenience. And it also a space saver. Battery may not last as long as one hope for. But If you want a long battery life, get a cord instead. For this cordless small vacuum to have powerful suction, I am very pleased. Does it worth the hefty price? Depends on the individual. This ain't no miracle device nor will it perform like professional cleaning. However if you vacuum routinely with no heavy stain in the carpet, it'll do just fine.

We have a 916 sq. ft., two-floor condo with two cats. Both are prone to shedding quite a bit since one is half Persian, the other is a half Maine Coon. It's so lightweight! I love how you can disassemble it to store it in a shelf. Assembly and care instructions were very easy to understand. So much power for such a little machine! It's wonderful on carpeted stairs — which was a very key point on our decision to buy it. My only three cons about it is that you may have to empty it out every five minutes on your first use. And on max power, it only lasts for about 15 minutes. Also, it can create a bit of static. Not huge problems for me, though.

Dyson has always made outstanding products and the V6 is no exception. This vacuum can easily match everything a traditional vacuum has to offer plus more. It's very lightweight with a very sold 'feel' to it. With the included wall mounting kit you can keep out of sight when not in use while it charges back to full capacity. The only single limitation is the battery life but you really can't expect more than 20 minutes from a vacuum as powerful as the V6. Just like any other Dyson product I've ever purchased - it's well worth the price tag and you'll get many years of use from this vacuum.

The first thing that sold me on this vacuum is the fact that it is cordless. What a selling point!! The freedom to move around and not worry about the annoying cord!! Then, to have it so lightweight!! Wonderful. This makes you want to clean your house!! The only downside is that you need to charge it after a short time. But it's still a fabulous invention and well worth it!!
